YANKEE IDEAL – Over raced throughout the event.

SILLY SID – Pre – race blood sample.

RACE 2 – KATH AND KIM TRIVIA @ CLUB PACEWAY JAN 22 PACE – 1720 metres

GIGI BOB – Paced roughly for a short distance after the start. Stewards questioned driver H Rixon in relation to the below market ($1.75 fav) performance of the mare. Ms Rixon explained that the mare paced roughly for a short distance after the start and as a result was unable to show the required gate speed to cross MINIMUM WAGE drawn to her inside and as a result did settle further back in the event than anticipated. Ms Rixon explained that considering the slow tempo during the first half, this proved detrimental to her mare over the concluding stages as her mare is more suited when driven forward. Ms Rixon added that she did not improve her position throughout the event as CLASSIC GRANGE improved to the position outside of the leader passing the 1100 metres as she anticipated the tempo to quicken which would have suited her drive however shortly thereafter the tempo did not quicken as anticipated and she was disadvantaged. Post – race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

CHRONICLES – Raced three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside the leader passing the 1350 metres.

LITTLE BLISS – Post – race swab sample.

CLASSIC GRANGE – Improved three wide from the 1250 metres until obtaining the position outside of the leader passing the 1100 metres.

JE TAIME NZ - Pre – race blood sample.

TEAM OF STARZZZ – Hung out whilst under pressure over the final 75 metres.

SHADOW ECLIPSE – Over raced throughout the event.

TRUE CONFESSIONS – Raced three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1800 metres.

BETTOR TO BE TRICKY NZ – Improved three wide from the 1750 metres until obtaining the position outside of the leader passing the 1550 metres.

ROCK OF DELIGHT - Pre – race blood sample. Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight before obtaining a run to the inside of TEAM OF STARZZZ over the final 75 metres. Post – race swab sample.

SCHOUTEN ISLAND – Improved three wide from the 1750 metres until obtaining the position outside of the leader passing the 1300 metres.

RACE 4 – WASTE CONTRACTORS AND RECYCLERS ASSOC PACE – 1720 metres

PAIDINFULL – Stewards questioned driver R Morris in relation to the below market ($1.95 fav) performance of the gelding. Mr Morris explained that his gelding contacted its off side sulky wheel during the event and as a result raced keenly which contributed to the disappointing performance. Stewards noted his comments. Post – race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

ARTHUR GRANGE – Post – race swab sample.

KNOCKOUT TYSON - Pre – race blood sample.

RACE 5 – XTREME BULLS @ CLUB PACEWAY FEB 12 PACE – 2125 metres

HEADOVAHEELS – Pre – race blood sample.

WHEREISHE – Stewards questioned driver J Douglass in relation to the above market ($23) performance of the horse. Mr Douglas explained that last start the gelding made an error during the early stages of the score up and as a result was disadvantaged from the start. Mr Douglass added that the run prior to that at Penrith on the 30th December 2021, although being beaten 26 metres, Mr Douglass stated he was satisfied with the geldings performance in that event considering it was not run at a tempo that suited his runner. Mr Douglass added that tonight’s event was run at a tempo which did suit WHEREISHE and added that the slower final quarter of 31.3 seconds was beneficial. Stewards noted his comments. Post – race swab sample.

JEFFCOATE – Failed to run on from the 600 metres to be beaten 35.9 metres and finished in last position. Stewards questioned trainer / driver T Sutton in relation to the disappointing performance of the gelding. Mrs Sutton explained that the gelding had been working well leading into tonight’s event and travelled well up until the 600 metres and from that point failed to travel at any stage. Mrs Sutton explained that the gelding had been known to hang prior to tonight’s event and as a result the stable had been doing work to correct the racing manner of JEFFCOATE. Mrs Sutton further stated that she may have to revisit the training tactics for the gelding. Stewards noted her comments. Post – race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

RACE 6 – DRAG BINGO @ CLUB PACEWAY FEB 19 PACE – 2125 metres

MATAI REACTOR – Raced roughly after the start before becoming unbalanced and galloping approaching the first turn. In view of the gelding’s recent record, a warning was issued. Stewards questioned driver D Morris in relation to his tactics adopted in the event in particular from the 550 metres when improving to the inside of RITCHIE BEE when that runner was improved into a running line position. Mr Morris stated after making an error during the early stages the gelding did strike its knee which is a known trait of the gelding and took some time to get back into a pace after being eased up the track. Mr Morris explained that the gelding did break on three further occasions before being able to manoeuvre the gelding back down the track to obtain a position at the tail of the field. Mr Morris explained that approaching the 550 metres he had anticipated trailing RITCHIE BEE wider however was concerned with the gelding’s tractability if required to be moved wider on the track and at a point approaching the 400 metres, noticed that JACKS UP had begun to shift wider and as a result Mr Morris would have been then required to travel three or four wide around the final turn which he did not believe would suit his gelding’s tractability. Mr Morris explained that his gelding was full of running however considering the geldings tractability was unfortunately caught held up in the home straight and as a result was not fully tested. Mr Morris explained that at Goulburn three starts ago on the 20th December 2021, when obtaining a favourable position in the one out one back position passing the 400 metres when he looked to improve the gelding wider, the gelding raced extremely roughly whilst striking its knee and considering that as well as today’s tractability, he was concerned by progressing wider on the track. After considering Mr Morris’s evidence, stewards noted his comments.

SMOKING ZAK – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1950 metres. Shifted out whilst under pressure in the home straight on the final occasion. In view of the geldings movement a warning was issued.

TUAKANA NZ – Declared a late scratching at 8:34pm acting on veterinary advice after driver A Bourke was concerned with the gelding during the preliminary when it had choked down. In view of the veterinary findings and the tractability of TUAKANA NZ during the preliminary, TUAKANA NZ was stood down for a period of 6 days.

RITCHIE BEE - Pre – race blood sample.
