RACE 1 – TEMORA EX-SERVICES MEMORIAL CLUB PACE – 2000 metres

 

RUN VIV RUN – After passing the finish line, attempted to jump a marker peg when tightened for room, when racing to the inside of THE BLUE WREN which hung-in slightly away from WHITE POINTER which also hung-in.

HUMMING TOP – Hung-out and contacted the sulky wheel of SOULWRITER entering the first turn. Hung-in near the 400 metres.

FUNNILY ENOUGH – Pre-race swab sampled. Driver T Doherty was fined the sum of $400 under Rule 156(2)(a) for using his whip with an action that was more than a wrist only flicking motion in the home straight. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account that this was T Doherty’s second whip rule breach within 60 days of the first breach.

SOULWRITER – Sulky contacted by HUMMING TOP entering the first turn. Post-race swab sampled.

THE BLUE WREN – Hung-in approaching the 200 metres.

 

RACE 2 – MCWILLIAMS WINES PACE – 2000 metres

 

CHUBBS – Broke gait free of interference near the 200 metres, given the gelding’s record connections were advised that it would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial.

KALAHARI SAN – Pre-race swab sampled. Hung-out while leading approaching the 1200 metres, as a result EASTBRO KATIE was able to obtain a run to its inside to take over the lead, connections were advised the mare would be placed on its last chance to race truly.

EASTBRO KATIE – Obtained a run to the inside of KALAHARI SAN approaching the 1200 metres to lead, when that runner hung-out. Post-race swab sampled.

LITTLE ARCHIE – Broke gait during the score-up, for which a warning was issued.

OPERATIVE ANNA – Broke gait free of interference near the 1200 metres, for which a warning was issued.

 

RACE 3 – TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY PACE – 1635 metres

 

SCREENTIME – Pre-race swab sampled. Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take over the lead from DOUBLE MACH leaving the 1400 metres. Hung-in and contacted marker pegs leaving the 200 metres. Driver A Pitt was fined the sum of $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) for using his whip with an action that was more than a wrist only flicking motion in the home straight. A Pitt was also spoken to advisedly regarding his loose rein action with his non-whip hand. Post-race swab sampled.

AURORA FIG – Broke gait after the start, given it was just the mare’s third race start connections were advised that she would be placed outside the draw for future mobile start races.

JUSTROLLINGAROUND – Raced roughly leaving the 400 metres.

ZEBS ARWOC – Held up for clear running over the concluding stages of the race.

 

RACE 4 – SOUTH WEST SLOPES CREDIT UNION PACE – 2000 metres

 

BETTER HARLEY – Driver A Richardson was fined $100 under Rule 162(1)(y) for failing to adhere to the minimum sectional time requirements for the first half of the last mile while leading. Post-race swab sampled.

TROUBLE LOOMING – Had a tendency to over-race during the middle stages of the event.

IM SO NEEDY – Pre-race swab sampled. Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader near the 1600 metres.

CAMSTAR ROAD – Held up for clear running until near the 100 metres.

SHADOW SIGN – Had a tendency to over-race during the middle stages of the event.

BATED BREATH – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

 

RACE 5 – BFB & NEW EARTHMOVING TEMORA PACERS CUP – 2386 metres

 

WESTERN STYLE – Pre-race swab sampled.

ULTIMATE HUGHEY – Made a three wide mid race move to take over the position outside the leader leaving the 1200 metres.

IM FEELING FIREY – Had a tendency to over-race during the middle stages of the event. Hung-in near the 400 metres.

HARRY TURBO – Driver R Gregory was fined $100 under Rule 170(1)(a) for dropping his foot from the sulky rest near the 600 metres and leaving the 400 metres.

OLD LUKE NZ – Trainer A Turnbull was fined $50 under Rule 210 for not declaring a Driver for the gelding by the required time. Worked forward to take over the lead from WESTERN STYLE near the 2000 metres. Post-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 6 – MIBRAE PACE – 2000 metres

 

ILLTELLYOUNOTHING – Pre-race swab sampled.

BEAU BROWN – Worked forward to take over the lead from TREACHEROUS ONE approaching the 1600 metres.

SWEET HEAVEN NZ – Hung-in and broke entering the first turn, and hung-in and raced roughly leaving the 1200 metres. A post-race Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities, other than the mare had lost its near hind shoe. Driver A Pitt reported that mare did not travel comfortably at all after breaking on the first turn and was hitting its knee rounding the turns for the remainder of the race. Connections were advised that the mare would be placed on its last chance to race truly.

JOETOMO – Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it was having its first race start in over 12 months, and cleared to start. Forced wider entering the first turn when BOBBY STREET shifted out, then raced three wide until being restrained to obtain a position with cover in the running line approaching the 1600 metres.

BARRETT – Post-race swab sampled.

BOBBY STREET – Driver W Cassell was issued with a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(b)(i), for forcing another runner wider on the track prior to the point where permitted to do so, in that near the 1800 metres he shifted the gelding out, resulting in JOETOMO being forced wider on the track. In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account that BOBBY STREET had prior to the incident established its position in the running line, then ran in marginally approaching the first turn and was shifting back out as JOETOMO was shifting down in to its position.

 

RACE 7 – RIVALEA PACE – 2000 metres

 

HOLY CAMP CAPRHYSE – Held up for clear running until obtaining a run to the inside of HOLD BACK THE RIVER NZ near the 100 metres.

LONDON LADY – Raced roughly entering the first turn, for which a warning was issued.

HOLD BACK THE RIVER NZ – Worked forward to take over the lead from HOLY CAMP CAPRHYSE approaching the 1600 metres. Post-race swab sampled.

CONFUSE ME – Had a tendency to over-race during the middle stages of the event.

MY MATE BERNIE – Pre-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 8 – TEMORA CRASH REPAIRS PACE – 2000 metres

 

MOVIN MILLIONS – Pre-race swab sampled. Tightened for room when racing to the inside of BLACKIES ACE approaching the 1600 metres and contacted a number of marker pegs.

BLACKIES ACE – Tired over the concluding stages, connections were advised the gelding would be placed on its last chance to race truly.

MAJOR MICKEY – Made a three wide mid race move to take over the position outside the leader near the 1200 metres.

PETES ART FOLLY NZ – Had a tendency to over-race during the middle stages of the event. Driver T Day was fined $200 under Rule 170(1)(a) for dropping his foot from the sulky rest over the concluding stages of the race. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account that T Day’s foot was in the vicinity of the gelding’s hind leg when down from the sulky rest. Post-race swab sampled.
