RACE 1 – GARRARDS HORSE AND HOUND MAIDEN PACE – 1609 metres

SALS LAST BLAST – Raced in restricted room inside the 100 metres and could not be driven with vigour. 

ACHROMATIC – Post-race swab sample was obtained.

EASE UP MOBY – Held up and unable to obtain clear running for the entirety of the home straight.

KIMCHI – Pre-race blood sample was taken. 

CRACKER BARREL – Had to be eased and shifted wider passing the 1000 metres when racing ungenerously behind SALS LAST BLAST.  Trainer/driver Mr J Bond was fined $100 under AR 170(1)(a), for allowing his left foot to drop below the sulky rest approaching the home turn.  Mr Bond was also advised that following satisfactory required performance CRACKER BARREL would now be eligible to be placed in the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 2 – JOHNS AUTO SERVICE PACE – 1980 metres

COBLA ROYALE – Out of position at the start.  Driver J Coney was subsequently fined $50 under AR 162(1)(h).  Pulled hard in the early and middle stages, then broke stride free of any external factors and galloped passing the 900 metres.  Connections were advised that the provision of last chance to race truly would be placed on the filly’s record.

TONY SLOY – When questioned in relation to the performance, trainer/driver Mr A Ruggari explained that the colt failed to travel at any stage was unresponsive throughout and despite his efforts inside the 500 metres could not improve.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.  Mr Ruggari was advised that prior to racing again TONY SLOY must compete satisfactorily in an official qualifying trial.

BLISSFULL DONNA – Post-race urine sample was obtained.

POCKET MORE FOR LESS NZ – Pre-race blood sample was obtained.

 

RACE 3 – MULTIQUIP POULTRY PACE – 1609 metres

FLIRTS DIVA – Shifted out rounding the home turn and when placed under pressure in the home straight.  Driver C Shepherdson was reprimanded under AR162(1)(www)(a), for allowing the gelding to shift.

MISS LILLIROMAR – Post-race urine sample was obtained.

CAYMANGONE – Hampered and had to be shifted out slightly at the entrance to the home straight when racing outside of FLIRTS DIVA.

DELIGHTFUL ANNA – Pre-race blood sample was obtained. 

BARRYS BROTHER – Galloped away when the start was affected.  Trainer/driver M A Varga was advised that BARRYS BROTHER would continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 4 – HYGAIN MICRSPEED PACE – 1980 metres

MANIC MIA – Broke stride in the score up and caused a false start.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the filly’s record.  Driver M Simon was fined $100 under AR 163(1)(c)(i), for allowing MANIC MIA to race inside the marker pegs for some distance rounding the turn into the home straight on both occasions.  Broke stride free of any external factors near the 700 metres.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the filly’s record.

THE RINGMASTER – Broke stride free of any external factors passing the 700 metres and galloped.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s record.

SIANGDI – Had to be checked and broke stride near the 700 metres when racing behind REDBANK OLIVIA.

LADY PEBBLES – Had to be checked, lost ground and then shifted wider passing the 700 metres to avoid THE RINGMASTER which galloped.

IM FREYJA – Hampered and had to be shifted wider near the 700 metres when racing behind REDBANK OLIVIA.

CAESARS ROCKSTAR – Post-race urine sample was obtained.

REDBANK OLIVIA – Pre-race blood sample was obtained.  Had to be checked and broke stride near the 700 metres when racing behind LADY PEBBLES.

 

RACE 5 – VALE MAX TOWNS – 1609 metres

MASAKE – Pre-race blood sample was obtained.  Post-race urine sample was obtained.

BETTERTHANKYLIE – Broke stride during the score up and galloped.  Trainer/driver Mr D Chapple was advised that BETTERTHANKYLIE would now be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.

BRIE – Raced roughly for a short distance after the start.

 

RACE 6 – HRNSW GUARANTEED LADYSHIP PACE – 1980 metres

GEMMAS EXPRESS – When questioned in relation to the performance driver J Coney explained, that after being driven vigorously in the early stages to establish the lead GEMMAS EXPRESS travelled strongly, however in the middle stages was pressured when racing in front by FAISELLE on its outside.  She said that despite this GEMMAS EXPRESS continued to race generously until inside the 300 metres where she placed it under pressure to go forward and gained no response.  She said that in her opinion this was because GEMMAS EXPRESS was resuming from a short spell period and the mare’s race condition gave out.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed GEMMAS EXPRESS displayed a slow recovery.  

SPRUCE LOOSE – Pre-race blood sample was obtained.  Slow to begin.

LADY LAGERTHA NZ – Pre-race blood sample was obtained.  Slow to begin.  Broke stride free of any external factors passing the 600 metres.  Connections were advised that prior to racing again LADY LAGERTHA NZ must perform satisfactorily in two official qualifying trials and undergo a stand down period from racing of 14 days.

MISS MARAVU – Out of position at the start.  Under all of the circumstances no action was taken.  Driver J Buckman pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 163(1)(a)(iii), stating that rounding the home turn he allowed MISS MARAVU to shift out after running onto the back of GEMMAS EXPRESS, when insufficiently clear of ROSETTA SHANNON, resulting in ROSETTA SHANNON being steadied and racing roughly for a short distance.  J Buckman’s licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 10 days to commence at midnight on 1 December 2022 and expire on 12 December 2022 on which day he may resume.

WERENT WATCHING NZ – Post-race urine sample was obtained.

 

RACE 7 – STAN ALLAN – 12 MONTHS MEMORIAL – 1609 metres

MEGA STAR – Raced roughly rounding the turn after the start for a short distance and was unbalanced.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s record.

UPTOTRIX – Pre-race blood sample was obtained.

AUSTRALIANA – Hampered and lost some ground when being steadied racing behind MEGA STAR rounding the turn after the start.

UNSULLY – Post-race urine sample was obtained.

BREXITT – Broke stride during the score up and galloped for a short distance.  Connections were advised that the gelding would continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.  Pulled hard in the early and middle stages.

 

RACE 8 – NUTRIEN EQUINE – BATHURST MARCH 2023 PACE – 1609 metres

WHAT NOW SHANNON – Pulled hard during the early and middle stages.

SOMEBEACHSOMEGIFT – Trainer/driver M A Varga was cautioned in relation to the manner that he applied the whip inside the 150 metres.  Post-race urine sample was obtained.

PRODIGAL GUINNESS NZ – Pre-race blood sample was obtained. 

 

RACE 9 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1980 metres

JOGALONG BLUE – Out of position at the start.  Trainer/driver Mr D Chapple was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s record.  Hung in in the early stages and locked wheels momentarily rounding the first turn with ROLAMAX.  Shortly after this JOGALONG BLUE broke stride and galloped.  Trainer/driver Mr D Chapple was advised that prior to racing again JOGALONG BLUE must perform satisfactorily in an official qualifying trial.

MISS SERENA – Broke stride in the score up, then was subject to a gear malfunction resulting in driver T Ison indicating his inability to compete and a false start was declared.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s record.  Post-race urine sample was obtained.

NOR WESTA – Pre-race blood sample was obtained. 

ROLAMAX – Prior to the declaration of all clear, the start was reviewed to determine whether ROLAMAX had been afforded the opportunity to begin with the field.  It was determined that whilst ROLAMAX was hampered at the start when scoring up behind JOGALONG BLUE and was out of position, this did not materially affect the gelding’s chances in the event therefore all clear was declared.

ZOEMAGIC – Out of position at the start.  Taking into account all the circumstances no action was taken.
