GENERAL – Due to the continued rainfall the track was inspected and the mobile barrier was tested prior to the commencement of the meeting. The track was passed suitable for racing and would be continually monitored with further rainfall.

 

RACE 1 – CONDELL PARK PRODUCE TROTERS MOBILE – 1609 metres

LOVE YOU GIRL – Broke under pressure approaching the 200 metres and a warning was issued.

ALDEBARAN JENSEN – Post-race swab sample.

YOUNG SON – Broke as the start was affected.  In view of the gelding’s recent record YOUNG SON will now be placed outside the draw in future mobile start events.  Broke under pressure approaching the 200 metres and a warning was issued.

THE NIGHT KING – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight.

MELPARK MAGIC – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having started in more than 200 races.  These examinations did not reveal any significant findings.  Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 2 – HYLAND SPORTSWEAR TROTTERS MOBILE – 2300 metres

SHEETWEB WEAVER – Pre-race blood sample.  Consideration was given to an application made by connections for a late driving change from Cameron Hart to Sean Grayling due to a change in ownership.  After consideration of the application approval was granted.  An inquiry into the conduct of owner David Lindon will be conducted at a time and date to be fixed.

IVEGOTBILLS NZ – Broke under pressure passing the 400 metres.  In view of the gelding’s recent poor record IVEGOTBILLS NZ will now be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of Stewards on two occasions and also for a period of 10 days.

ROYAL GLENFERRIE – Post-race swab sample.

FOX TROT HILL – Out of position at the start and will continue to be placed outside the draw in future mobile start events.

RIGHT MOVES – Shifted out under pressure shortly after straightening.

 

RACE 3 – ULTRA AIR PACE – 1609 metres

OPERATIVE ANNA – Pre-race blood sample.  Consideration was given to a protest lodged by 2nd placed driver Joshua Gallagher against 1st placed MONTEFIORE NZ alleging interference over the concluding stages.  After taking evidence from Mr Gallagher, Will Rixon driver of MONTEFIORE NZ and review of the available replays it was established that MONTEFIORE NZ shifted out inside the final 200 metres resulting in OPERATIVE ANNA being inconvenienced, however mindful of the minimal degree of inconvenience and the manner in which the two runners finished the race off Stewards could not be satisfied that but for this occurrence OPERATIVE ANNA would have finished ahead of MONTEFIORE NZ and the protest was accordingly dismissed and the all clear was given on the judge’s numbers.

TARAMIN – Held up rounding the home turn in the early part of the straight.

MONTEFIORE NZ – Raced greenly passing the 1300 metres and shifted out and continued to race greenly prior to progressing to the lead.  Driver Will Rixon was fined $200 under Rule 162(1)(www)(a) in that inside the final 200 metres he permitted the gelding to shift out under pressure.  Post-race swab sample.

ROGERVALERIO LOMBO – Paced roughly passing the 200 metres.

 

RACE 4 – DOWNLOAD THE TAB APP TODAY PACE – 1609 metres

KATES VIRTUE – Pre-race blood sample. 

OUR ULTIMATE IVY NZ – Trainer Jarrod Alchin was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to have the gear form lodged for the filly.

WILLS WAY – Hung in under pressure inside the final 300 metres.  Post-race swab sample.

POTTER – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight.

PARALLEL – Broke after the start and a warning was issued.

SHARK DANCER – Inconvenienced shortly after the start when PARALLEL broke gait.

TOP THE ACE – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having started in more than 200 races.  These examinations did not reveal any significant findings.

 

RACE 5 – BUBBA GUMP PEST CONTROL PACE – 1609 metres

SKREEMR NZ – Broke during the score up and was out of position at the start.  In view of the mare’s recent record SKREEMR NZ will now be placed outside the draw in future mobile start events.

IM BILLS LAST NZ – Post-race swab sample.

HIGHVIEW SADLER NZ – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having started in more than 200 races.  These examinations did not reveal any significant findings. 

PAYTONS ROCK NZ – Pre-race blood sample.  Shifted out during the middle stages of the score up and broke as a consequence resulting in the gelding being out of position at the start and a warning was issued.  Broke clear of interference passing the 500 metres and fell a short distance later resulting in its driver Blake Hughes being dislodged from the sulky.  Mr Hughes was cleared of any significant injury.  Post-race veterinary examination of PAYTONS ROCK NZ revealed the gelding to have sustained lacerations, most significantly to the area above the right eye requiring suturing. The gelding was also found to be lame in left foreleg.  Connections were advised PAYTONS ROCK NZ will now be stood down from racing for a period of at least seven days and until a veterinary clearance is provided. PAYTONS ROCK NZ must also trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.

 

RACE 6 – AINSWORTH GAME TECHNOLOGY LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres

SKYE MARY MAC NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

KABIBI – Shifted out passing the 1400 metres when progressing to the led.  Post-race swab sample.

THERESA LOVE NZ – Broke under pressure approaching the 200 metres and in view of the mare’s recent record will now be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of Stewards.

 

Following the running of this race a delegation of drivers raised concerns about the state of the track and the associated poor visibility.  Upon consideration of these concerns and acting on their own observations the remainder of the meeting was abandoned.
