RACE 1 – DRAG BINGO @ CLUB PACEWAY NOV 11 PACE – 1720 metres
FLYIN CIRCLES NZ – Pre-race blood test.
CHARLIES ACE NZ – Inconvenienced after the start as a result of JILLIBY DINGO breaking gait. Worked forward to the lead passing the 1350 metres. Post-race swab.
JILLIBY DINGO – Hung in after the start and broke gait for which a warning was issued and took no competitive part in the event.
ABRIDGED – Inconvenienced after the start as a result of JILLIBY DINGO breaking gait.
SIR JUJON – Tightened and contacted marker pegs rounding the final turn as a result of FEAR THE EAGLE moving down the track slightly.
TURBO TOMMY – Inconvenienced after the start as a result of JILLIBY DINGO breaking gait. Caught wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1350 metres.
FEAR THE EAGLE – Pre-race blood test. Shifted down the track slightly rounding the final turn placing SIR JUJON into restricted room.
JOGALONG BLUE – Out of position at the start. Broke gait after the start and will be continued out of the draw in mobile starts. Took no competitive part in the event.
RACE 2 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1720 metres
SWEET MIRACLE – Pre-race blood test. Over raced throughout the event and was held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.
SKYE MARY MAC NZ – Shifted in slightly passing the 400 metres inconveniencing SOUTHPAW SLUGGER.
JAMBEROO ARK – Broke gait passing the 1500 metres for which a warning was issued. Caught wide and restrained to last passing the 1200 metres.
SOUTHPAW SLUGGER – Inconvenienced slightly passing the 400 metres as a result of SKYE MARY MAC NZ shifting down the track.
PAINTMEAREASON – Pre-race blood test. Post-race swab.
CROWN MOJO – Held up for clear running in the early part of the home straight.
IDEAL REDEMPTION – Improved three wide passing the 1200 metres before finding a position outside the leader passing the 1000 metres.
RACE 3 – XTREME BULLS @ PENRITH SHOWGROUND NOV 18 PACE – 2125 metres
ROLL WITH SLOY – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1900 metres. Post-race swab.
BARA RILEY – Caught wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1700 metres.
REIGN MAKER – Commenced to improve three wide from the 1600 metres before finding a position outside the leader passing the 1300 metres.
BETTOR TO BE TRICKY NZ – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Pre-race blood test. Commenced to improve three wide passing the 1450 metres before finding a position outside the leader at the 1100 metres. Caught wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field passing the 1800 metres.
KATCHAR SHOOBEE – Pre-race blood test.
RACE 4 – SSANG YONG @ SINCLAIR FORD KINGSWOOD PACE – 1720 metres
PERCY BAILEY – Pre-race blood test. Driver Ashleigh Delosa pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 149(2) for an unacceptable drive, in that a point passing the 300 metres when CARLO GAMBINO NZ was commencing to make a run to the outside of PERCY BAILEY Miss Delosa has elected to stay in a running line position and as a result was held up for clear running in the home straight and not fully tested. Driver Ashleigh Delosa had her licence to drive in races suspended for a period of four weeks to commence midnight 9 November 2023. Stewards afforded Miss Delosa the opportunity to reduce the suspension for a period of one week pending a mentoring session. In assessing penalty Stewards considered Miss Delosa’s plea, record in relation to the rule and relative inexperience. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
YEAH SOPHIE NZ – Commenced to tire from the 500 metres before being beaten 100 metres. Driver Jack Trainor was questioned in regards to the overall performance of YEAH SOPHIE NZ. Mr Trainor explained that the mare is not suited to racing in a position outside the leader in a race that was run in a solid mile rate (1.55.6). A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. In view of the performance of the filly, YEAH SOPHIE NZ will be required to perform one requalifying trail.
BLAZING SHANNON – Caught wide early before working forward to the lead passing the 1500 metres.
CHASING THE WIND – Pre-race blood test. Post-race swab.
RACE 5 – COMEDY FOR A CAUSE @ PENRITH PACEWAY NOV 24 PACE – 1720 metres
PRINCE OF PEACE – Pre-race blood test.
OH DADDY – Caught wide early before working forward to a position outside the leader passing the 1300 metres.
SIR SIMON – Caught wide before being restrained to the rear of the field passing the 1200 metres.
ROCK OF DELIGHT – Pre-race blood test. Approaching the 400 metres became unbalanced and broke free of any interference for which a warning was issued.
MAJOR STATEMENT – Caught wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field passing the 1400 metres.
PUMP THE BRAKES – Post-race swab.
RACE 6 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 2125 metres
TIGERS SPIRIT – Pre-race blood test.
MEMPHIS FURY – Post-race swab.
SHE MAYBE BETTOR – Pre-race blood test. Inconvenienced passing the 1600 metres as a result of the pace easing from the race.
LETS TURN IT ON – Caught wide early before working forward to a position outside the leader passing the 1800 metres. Commenced to tire passing the 600 metres before being beaten 88.4 metres. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. In view of the performance of the colt, LETS TURN IT ON will be required to perform one requalifying trail.
BONUS BET NZ – Inconvenienced passing the 1600 metres as the pace in the race eased.
OJENNY MAY – Out of position at the start despite the efforts of its driver for which a warning was issued. Inconvenienced passing the 1600 metres as a result of the pace of the race easing. Over raced throughout the event.
RACE 7 – COOPERLINE @ CLUB PACEWAY DEC 2 PACE – 2125 metres
SARGE – Pre-race blood test. Stewards questioned Klayton Bigein in regards to the tactics adopted in the event in particular the early part of the race when challenged for the lead Mr Bigeni elected to hold the front before restraining and taking cover behind FIFTYSHADES CRESCO passing the 1600 metres. Mr Bigeni stated that he began well and intended to lead the event until a point where passing the 1900 metres where he commenced to ease after the challenge from FIFTYSHADES CRESCO appeared to cease from that point FIFTYSHADES CRESCO pushed on again until SARGE relinquished the lead to FIFTYSHADES CRESCO passing the 1600 metres. Mr Bigeni was happy with the run of the gelding having finished in second place beaten 5.3 metres.
FIFTYSHADES CRESCO – Driver Brian Portelli pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 149(2) for an unacceptable drive, in that after challenging SARGE for the lead in the early stages which appeared to ease passing the 1900 metres Mr Portelli has then again issued a second challenge before finding the lead passing the 1600 metres in a fast lead time of 36 seconds which Stewards believe resulted in FIFTYSHADES CRESCO commencing to tire passing the 800 metres to be beaten 92.5 metres. In the opinion of the Stewards the decision to push forward for the second challenge was unacceptable. Driver B Portelli had his licenced to drive in races suspended for a period of four weeks to commence midnight 18 November 2023. In assessing penalty Stewards considered Mr Portelli’s plea and record in relation to the rule. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
ULTIMATE AD – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Pre-race blood test. Post-race swab.
LANI KAI BEACH – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
CLEMENTSORRELL – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Out of position at the start despite the efforts of its driver and was issued with its last chance in the draw.
TIGER TOMMY NZ – Held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.
TEAM OF STARZZZ – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
THE GOLDEN CROSS NZ – Held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.
RACE 8 – MATES4HARNESS PACE – 2125 metres
JUSTADIVA – Commenced to tire passing the 500 metres to be beaten 75.3 metres. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. In view of the performance of the mare, JUSTADIVA will be required to perform one requalifying trial.
A LOT OF LUVIN – Contacted its own sulky and over raced throughout the event.
DOUBLE LINES – Over raced throughout the event before commencing to tire at the 900 metres to be beaten 87.8 metres. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. In view of the gelding’s performance, DOUBLE LINES will be required to perform one requalifying trial.
TARIFA GIRL – Out of position at the start for which a warning was issued. Failed to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 91.5 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near side hind. Acting on veterinary advice TARIFA GIRL was stood down a veterinary certificate of clearance and will also be required to perform one requalifying trial.
GOTTA BLING IT – Out of position at the start for which a warning was issued. Hung in throughout the score up and had a tendency to hang in throughout the event. Trailed the field in the early part of the event and was not competitive before being beaten 75.3 metres. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. In view of the performance the gelding, GOTTA BLING IT will now be required to perform one requalifying trial.
IMA SHINKANSEN – Pre-race blood test.
CORZAN DRAMA – Pre-race blood test. Checked passing the 900 metres as a result of DOUBLE LINES giving ground and at that stage commenced to improve three wide. Post-race swab.
SALERO – Checked passing the 900 metres as a result of DOUBLE LINES giving ground and at that stage commenced to improve three wide with a trail behind CORZAN DRAMA.
