OUR PRINCESS KENNEDY NZ – When questioned regarding the early tempo set on OUR PRINCESS KENNEDY NZ driver C Hart explained that it was always the intention of connections drive the mare forward however, after finding the lead it would have been his preference to steady the tempo and run the first half of the last mile slower.  However IDEAL REDEMPTION which raced to its outside was striking its own off side sulky wheel and over racing which forced the tempo.  C Hart added that whilst IDEAL REDEMPTION did not race in close proximity he made the decision to remain racing slightly forward of that runner because OUR PRINCESS KENNEDY NZ is better suited when it does not have runners racing on on terms.  C Hart’s explanation was noted.

WHATABOYJACK – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Approaching the 1500 metres became unbalanced and broke gait.  Driver H Rixon explained that WHATABOYJACK was having its first race start for the stable and it would be the intention of trainer P Rixon to experiment with a gear change more than likely this would include a set of spreaders being added to the gelding.  A warning was issued.

IDEAL REDEMPTION – Racing in the position outside of the leader struck its own sulky wheel causing the gelding to over race.
