RACE 1 – BOURKES HORSE RUGS PACE – 1730 metres
General: At the request of SKY Racing due to Ipswich Thoroughbreds and Albion Park Greyhounds being abandoned this event was rescheduled to start at 5:15pm.
MEGS MONARO – ($1.65 Fav) Pre-race swab. Driver Jett Turnbull was queried into the seemingly poor performance of the gelding which finished in 10th and last position beaten 26.2m after trailing the leader throughout. Mr Turnbull advised the gelding to be disappointing. Mr Turnbull explained MEGS MONARO was up in grade to recent starts and is better suited to the smaller racing circuits in the district and performs more genuinely when able to lead. A post-race veterinary revealed the gelding displaying a slower than normal recovery.
LEAH SHANNON – ($12.00) Driver Travis Bullock was queried into the overall performance of the mare which finished in 7th position beaten 15m after leading. Mr Bullock advised he was satisfied in the performance as the mare had continual pressure applied throughout the event with an overall quick mile rate of 1.55.3 and would derive benefit from the performance.
MAMMALS ALIBI – ($9.00) Driver Phoebe Betts was queried into the overall performance of the gelding which finished in 9th position beaten 19.4m after racing outside the leader from the 1200m. Ms Betts attributed the performance to the gelding having to endue more work than expected during the early stages of the event combined with the quick overall mile rate of 1.55.3.
THE DANCER – Held up during the early prior obtaining clear running along the sprint lane.
CARBAGANOOSH – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having started the previous evening at Young. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormalities. Post-race swab
RACE 2– NSW STANDARDBRED OWNERS ASSOCIATION WESTERN DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP CONSOLATION – 2260 metres
General: At the request of SKY Racing due to Ipswich Thoroughbreds and Albion Park Greyhounds being abandoned this event was rescheduled to start at 5:43pm.
TULHURST TERROR – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having started in excess of 200 starts. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormalities.
BETTER SHUSH – Pre-race swab & Post-race swab.
SABELLA SHANNON – Driver Travis Bullock was issued a reprimand under AHR Rule 167(2) for allowing the mare to shift into the sprint lane when leading. In not taking more action stewards were mindful no horses was impeded along the sprint lane.
SMOOTH BUZZ – Hung inwards under pressure inside the final 100m.
RACE 3 – HYNASH GROUP WESTERN DISTRICTS DERBY – 2260 metres
General: At the request of SKY Racing due to Ipswich Thoroughbreds and Albion Park Greyhounds being abandoned this event was rescheduled to start at 6:08pm.
CRYSTAL BLING – Yielded ground from the 600m to finish in 8th position beaten 68.1m. A warning was issued against the gelding racing competiveness.
ONE MORE ALTA – Commenced to give ground approaching the 800m and was retired from the event passing the 600m. Driver Justin Reynolds reported the gelding to making an abnormal noise and felt the gelding may have choked down. ONE MORE ALTA will now be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of stewards on one (1) occasion. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
NIRVANA PRINCE – Yielded ground from the 600m to finish in 9th position beaten 98.2m. NIRVANA PRINCE will now be placed on its last chance to race competitively.
ARTFUL PRINCE – Pre-race swab. Yielded ground from the 400m to finish in 7th position beaten 56.9m.
GLITTER AINT GOLD – Driver Jett Turnbull was issued a reprimand under AHR Rule 170(2) for allowing his upper body protrude outside the confines of the sulky inside the final 200m. Post-race swab.
IDEAL TIMING – ($2.60 Fav) Trainer/driver Mat Rue was queried into the overall performance of the gelding which finished in 6th position beaten 41.3m after racing outside the leader from the 1300m. Mr Rue advised the gelding to be disappointing & attributed the performance to a combination of the gelding over racing after improving into the event and was not suited racing over the longer distance combined with the quick mile rate.
RACE 4– NSW STANDARDBRED OWNERS ASSOCIATION WESTERN DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL – 2260 metres
ROCKET BOY – Over raced during the early & middle stages of the event.
MIGHTY ATOM – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having started the previous evening at Young. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormalities. Post-race swab.
DUN SPRUIKIN – Pre-race swab. Driver Nathan Townsend was cautioned for his lack of control in allowing the colt to shift up the track upon passing the 300m
KARINYA GILL – ($5.00) Driver Jye Coney was queried into the overall performance of the gelding which finished in 9th and last position beaten 21.6m after racing outside the leader throughout the event. Mr Coney advised the gelding to be disappointing & attributed the performance to the gelding being up in grade to recent starts and racing over the longer distance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Inconvenienced passing the 250 when REBOUNDER shifted outwards.
REBOUNDER – Driver John O’Shea was issued a reprimand for shifting ground approaching the 250m which inconvenienced KARINYA GILL.
RACE 5 – NUTRIEN GOLD CROWN SALE GRADUATE FINAL – 1730 metres
BABY YOURE THE ONE – Pre-race swab. Raced roughly under pressure inside the final 200m.
SENSATIONALIZE – Pre-race swab & Post-race swab. Shifted outwards under pressure over the final 200m.
DEAR DARLING – Hung inwards entering the first turn.
WINDY HILL LUCY – Hung outwards entering the first turn.
TIGER EUPHEME – Pre-race swab. Driver Bailey McDonough was queried into the overall performance of the filly which finished in 7th position beaten 15.3m after racing in a favourable one-one position from the 1200. Mr McDonough advised the filly to be disappointing and attributed the performance to the filly hanging inwards & outwards whilst racing in the running line and would better suited racing along the marker line at this stage of its career.

RACE 6 – SUCCESS STUD WESTERN DISTRICT OAKS – 2260 metres
VALENTINI – Hung inwards under pressure inside the final 100m.
DIVINE GIRL – Post-race swab.
BOULEVARDOFDREAMS – ($1.25 Fav) Pre-race swab. Trainer/driver Mat Rue was queried into the overall performance of the filly which finished in 3rd beaten 5.2m after racing in a favourable one-one position for majority of the event. Mr Rue advised the filly to be disappointing and felt the filly did not back up from its most recent start and was placed under pressure from the 800m and failed to let down as expected. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to a slow post-race recovery and to be 1/5 lame in the off hind leg. BOULEVARDOFDREAMS will now be stood down from racing pending a veterinary clearance.
ALWAYSBMINNIE – ($5.00) Driver Justin Reynolds was queried into the overall performance of the filly which finished in 6th position beaten 17.2m after racing outside the leader throughout. Mr Reynolds attributed the performance to the filly pulling hard throughout the event despite his efforts. Mr Reynolds added it would be the stable’s intention undertake gear alterations on the filly prior to starting to prevent any reoccurrence.
RACE 7 – WESTERN JEWEL SLOT RACE – 1730 metres
HUTA NZ – Post-race swab.
ERIC THE KICKER – Driver Nathan Townsend was reminded of his obligations in taking corrective measures regarding his loose reining.
ALLSTARZZZ FRANKIE – Hung inwards under pressure inside the final 50m.
WATCHMEDAZZLE – Pulled hard throughout the event.
THERESA LOVE NZ – Pre-race swab.
ALTA BILLY – Broke gait during the latter stages of the score up and was out of position when the start was effected. A warning was issued against the barrier manners of ALTA BILLY. Held up and failed to gain clear running for the entire length of the home straight.
RACE 8 – LION NATHAN PACE – 1730 metres
HAZZA IS WATCHING – Post-race swab.
EXCESS VITALITY – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having not started in the preceding 12 months. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormalities. Checked passing the 300m when FLOYDY BOY broke gait.
LINE ME UP BRO NZ – Post-race swab.
LAYLA SHANNON – Checked passing the 300m when FLOYDY BOY broke gait.
NIKALONG MINT – Checked passing the 300m when FLOYDY BOY broke gait.
LUCKY ZARA – Pre-race swab.
FLOYDY BOY – Broke gait under pressure approaching the 300m checking EXCESS VITALITY, LUCKY ZARA, NIKALONG MINT all to varying degrees. FLOYDY BOY will now be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of stewards on one (1) occasion. In not taking more action stewards were mindful the gelding was only having its second start for a new trainer.
RACE 9 – THE TAB APP PACE PACE – 1730 metres
ABERCROMBIE LIMBO – Pre-race swab. Held up and failed to gain clear running for the entire length of the home straight.
BETTINGONYA – Pulled hard during the early & middle stages of the event.
MATTEO – Pre-race swab.
COOL DUDE JOEY – Post-race swab.
