RACE 2– KENNEDY FAMILY MEMORIAL CLUB MENANGLE WARATAH HEAT – 1758 metres
EYEDIDNTLOSEIT – ($5.50) Yielded ground rapidly from 800m to finish in 10th and last position beaten 135.3m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed mare to be displaying a respiratory condition. EYEDIDNTLOSEIT will now be stood down from racing pending a veterinary clearance & trialling to the satisfaction of stewards on one (1) occasion.
CHASING THE WIND – ($3.90) Pre-race swab. Driver Jett Turnbull was queried into the tactics adopted upon the gelding in particular his decision from the 1200m if he gave consideration to surrender the position outside the leader when challenged by LACHIES DELIGHT & his decision to race on level term with the leader ALWAYS BE BRENDAN resulting in a quick second quarter of 27.5 seconds and to continue to apply undue pressure until the gelding the was placed under pressure from the 500m prior to giving ground from the 150m to finish in 8th position beaten 15m. Mr Turnbull explained he was instructed to drive the gelding forward from the start and maintain the position outside the leader as the gelding had been performing well in recent starts and the stable were confident of a forward performance. Mr Turnbull added once obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 1500m he did not give consideration to obtain a trail on LACHIES DELIGHT as he felt it was not a suitable runner to follow on its current form & the gelding never got in a position to progress forward as it was under strong driving furthermore considering the amount of work it had obtained approaching the 1200m and he was mindful of the instructions he was given by his trainer. Mr Turnbull added he was somewhat surprised of the second quarter of 27.5 seconds as he felt he had not increased the speed that dramatically throughout that section of the event. Mr Turnbull added CHASING THE WIND to be disappointing over the concluding stages. After considering the evidence Stewards advised Mr Turnbull, he had erred significantly with the tactics adopted from the 1200m however not the to the required standard a charge under AHR Rule 149 could be sustained upon the gelding in maintain the position outside the leader when there was a clear opportunity to allow his runner sufficient respite in obtaining a trail or racing back from the leader instead of on level terms & he must drive his runner within its capabilities. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
LACHIES DELIGHT – Held up during the early stages of the event prior to obtaining clear running.
MARIANNA BROMAC NZ – Inconvenienced approaching the 800m when EYEDIDNTLOSEIT commenced to yield ground. Held up during the early stages of the event prior to obtaining clear running.

DANCING ART – Slow out. Sulky contacted passing the 950m when the speed of the event eased simultaneously as ULTIMATE TROUBLE was being directed three (3) wide and raced roughly.
MILLWOOD GRACE NZ – ($5.50) Pre-race swab. Blake Micallef stable representative for Trainer David Micallef was queried into the seemingly improved performance of the mare compared to its recent form & the mare being well supported in fixed odds betting. Mr Micallef advised MILLWOOD GRACE NZ was second up from a spell where the stable was confident of a forward performance as the mare had performed well first up in stronger grade as MILLWOOD GRACE NZ was dropping significantly with the concession claim as the mare had won a similar class event at the venue in October 2024. Mr Micallef added the mare was able to lead comfortably and record even sections. Mr Micallef could not explain the support for the mare as he was unaware of anyone from or connected to the stable had supported the mare. Post-race swab.
MAMMALS GIRL – ($1.90 Fav) Driver Jett Turnbull was queried into the seemingly poor performance of the mare which finished in 9th position beaten 45.9m after improving into the event three (3) wide with a trail from the 900m. Mr Turnbull advised the filly to be extremely disappointing & could offer no tangible explanation for the performance as the stable were confident of a forward performance from MAMMALS GIRL as the mare had trialled well twice leading up to the event being first up since 20th November 2024. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. A warning was issued against MAMMALS GIRL racing competitiveness.
RACE 4– GARRY PUNCH MEMORIAL – 1758 metres
MASTER JUDE – ($4.80) Driver Blake Micallef was queried into the seeming poor performance of the gelding which finished in 8th and last position beaten 84.4m after racing outside the leader throughout the event. Mr Micallef attributed the performance to the gelding pulling hard during the event which was the main contributing factor to the gelding’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. MASTER JUDE will now be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of stewards on one (1) occasion.
