RACE 1 – ROSEMARY & ROBERT LEE MEMORIAL – 1680 metres
ULTIMATE COOKIE – Pre-race blood sample.
DREAM FORCE – Driver J Prior was queried on the mare’s overall performance when she failed to run on to finish in 10th and last position beaten some distance. Miss Prior could give no reasonable explanation for the mare’s poor performance and as a result DREAM FORCE would be stood down for one requalifying trial.
OUR DANCE MONKEY – Caught racing three wide in the early stages and when unable to obtain a position in the running line raced three wide for the entire event. Post-race swab sample.
LUCKY IN AMERICA – Upon the request of connections the gelding will be placed back in the mobile barrier draw in future starts.
RACE 2 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1680 metres
YANNICK GEE – Approaching the 200 metres hung in after being placed in restricted racing room and as a result has tightened the running of SANDERS which raced roughly for a short distance.
SANDERS – Pre-race blood sample. Approaching the 200 metres was placed in restricted racing room when YANNICK GEE was tightened and shifted down the track. Driver M Day Jnr was questioned on the tactics adopted and the overall performance of the gelding in particular his decision to hold the position outside the leader at the 1000 metres when challenged by IM LORD TOMMY. He stated the gelding raced in an uncompetive manner at its recent start when restrained. He further added he found the position outside the leader easy and when challenged elected to hold that position but failed to respond when placed under pressure and finished further back due to being tightened approaching the 200 metres.
DOING – Hung in shortly after the start.
YARRAMAN JOLT – Had a tendency to over race through the middle stages of the event. Post-race swab sample.
IM LORD TOMMY – Driver J Coney was queried on the overall performance of the gelding who failed to run on over the concluding stages to finish in 10th and last position. Mr Coney stated after racing three wide in the early stages and not being able to obtain the position outside the lead he elected to restrain at the 1000 metres to the tail of the field, with the way the race was run proved difficult for the gelding to get into the event at any stage and failed to run on over the concluding stages.
UNCLE SPORTY – Approaching the 200 metres had a tendency to hang in marginally tightening the running of YANNICK GEE who shifted down the track tightening SANDERS.
RACE 3 – NEVILLE & DOREEN PELLOW MEMORIAL – 1680 metres
MISS PIPPA – Gave ground over the final 400 metres and approaching the 200 metres had a tendency to hang in under pressure and race roughly. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Driver J Turnbull was queried on the overall performance of the mare. He stated that the stable was surprised that the mare was short in the market on her overall record and was not surprised by the performance. He further added that some gear changes may be required as the mare was hitting her knee throughout the race which contributed to her performance.
YARRAMAN KAYLOU – Post-race swab sample.
IRK MCGLURK – Had a tendency to over race throughout the event. Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and was not fully tested.
OUR SAILOR – Pre-race blood sample. Held up in for clear racing room in the run to the finish and not fully tested.
WHATABOUTBRONSON – Driver B Medlyn was queried on his decision to leave the one out three back position at the 1200 metres, then unable to obtain the position outside the leader restrained to the tail of the field. He stated the gelding was travelling well and with the tempo appearing to ease he elected to put the gelding into the race as the position outside the leader appeared to be available. When improving to the outside of DUSTY MUSTER that runner kicked up and with the position not available, he restrained to find cover. His comments were noted
LENNOX BROMAC NZ – Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and was not fully tested.
RACE 4 – HELLOWORLD TRAVEL FORBES AND FORBES LIVESTOCK & AGENCY CO PUD WOODS MEMORIAL – 1680 metres
GIRLS VIEW – Had a tendency to hang in after the start.
STUDLEIGH STARLITE – Pre-race blood sample. When negotiating the first turn the near side hopple connecting strap broke and as a result tailed the field for the remainder of the event. On inspection the gear was of a satisfactory standard for racing.
TYABB WONDER – Checked and broke at the 700 metres when shifting wider to avoid BROOKLYN BANDIT who was yielding ground quickly.
BROOKLYN BANDIT – When placed under pressure at the 900 metres, failed to respond, yielding ground quickly and as a result Driver J Coney retired the gelding from the event at the 700 metres. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Connections were advised the gelding would be stood down for one requalifying trial.
WESTERN BILL – Post-race swab sample.
SPRINGFIELD DESIRE – Checked at the 700 metres when shifting wide to avoid TYABB WONDER which had broke stride.
SPORTY MICKILLA – Driver P Sapio was fined $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) when applying the whip in the home straight has done so with more than a wrist flicking action.
RACE 5 – WIN TV CLARRIE, VAL & PETER ROBB MEMORIAL – 1680 metres
TENEACHWAY – Pre-race blood sample.
SHES SOME LEXY – Post-race swab sample.
RUSTY DANCER – Negotiating the first turn was checked when shifting wider to avoid FLASH AZARAT who had broke stride.
WHY NOTT – Broke stride shortly after the start. A warning was issued.
FLASH AZARAT – Negotiating the first turn became unbalanced and broke stride. A warning was issued.
DEVILS BLING – Negotiating the first turn was checked and broke when trailing FLASH AZARAT.
MAJOR ARK – Negotiating the first turn was checked when shifting wider to avoid DEVILS BLING who was checked and broke.
RACE 6 – DWYER CONTRACTING PACE – 1680 metres
CARIBBEAN PAT – Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and was not fully tested.
PREACHER QUINCE – Leaving the 300 metres raced roughly and as a result broke stride. A warning was issued.
MILLIONDOLLAR KISS – Had a tendency to over race while leading the event.
ZOLTON – Pre-race blood sample. Driver J Dean was fined $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) when applying his whip in the home straight on the final occasion has done so with more than a wrist flicking action.
WARRAWEE FLYER – Post-race swab sample.
RACE 7 – THE PALMER FINAL – 2060 metres
SCARLET BLING – Galloped out when the start was affected. A warning was issued.
A LIL BIT OF LOVE – Post-race swab sample.
OLIVIA SHANNON – Broke stride in the latter stages of the score up. A warning was issued. Driver J Turnbull was questioned on the mare’s overall performance. He was disappointed but the work the mare had to do in the early stages to find a forward position in the race proved detrimental to her overall performance.
STAY FOOLISH – Checked and broke after the start when trailing SCARLET BLING.
MCLEAN – Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 8 – FORBES RSL SUB BRANCH LES FINDLEY MEMORIAL – 2060 metres
KARLOO CANDICE – Pre-race blood sample. Leaving the 200 metres became unbalanced and broke stride. The gelding will be given its last chance to race truly.
CAPERELLA – Trainer/Driver L Primmer could give no reasonable explanation for the mare’s poor performance where she tired over the concluding stages to be beaten a considerable distance. CAPERELLA will be required to requalify on one occasion.
NOSAER – Broke stride as the start was affected. A warning was issued.
MITCHELLS RUN – Post-race swab sample.
ALWAYS ADORNED – At the request of connections the mare will be placed back in the mobile barrier draw in future starts.
KARINYA HAZ – Despite the efforts of its driver was out of position at the start. The gelding will continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw in future starts.
RACE 9 - FORBES SHIRE COUNCIL DIGGERS CUP – 2470 metres
SWEET ON LEXY – Post-race swab sample.
KADAR – Checked from the 500 metres to the 400 metres until clearing SIR RICHARD LEE which was yielding ground.
BETTOR KEPPEL – Had a tendency to over race throughout the event. Checked from the 400 metres to the 300 metres when SIR RICHARD LEE was yielding ground.
HOLY CAMP DILLON – Pre-race blood sample.
PAS DE CHEVAL – Checked from the 400 metres to the 300 metres when SIR RICHARD LEE was yielding ground.
