RACE 1 – THANK YOU JOHN MARKS PACE – 1758 metres

 

OUR ROCKY – Over-raced during the middle stages of the event.

ARTS FELLA – Broke gait during the score-up and a false start was declared, for which a warning was issued.

LACHIES DELIGHT – Post-race swab sampled.

FRESH PRINCE – Over-raced during the middle stages of the event.

WITH COMPLIMENTS – Broke gait under pressure near the finish line, for which a warning was issued.

NICE WON GARY – Pre-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 2 – KRIDEN PARK PACE – 1758 metres

 

VALDEZZ – Hung-in entering the first turn.

YANKEE BABE – Hung-out rounding the home turn and under pressure in the home straight. Trainer/Driver J Painting reported that the mare sustained a flat tyre shortly after the start, placing them at a disadvantage.

ROCKETON – Pre-race swab sampled. Post-race swab sampled.

QUICKSHIFT GIRL – Over-raced during the middle stages of the event.

 

RACE 3 – GUILDFORD TRANSPORT PACE – 1758 metres

 

JACKS LAST HOO RAA – Hung-out leaving the 1400 metres, leaving the 1000 metres and leaving the 600 metres. Inclined to hang-in rounding the turns. Post-race swab sampled.

COMPLICATED – Broke gait after the start for which a warning was issued.

JUMBO JIM – Pre-race swab sampled.

CENTREFIRE – Broke gait during the score-up and was out of position at the start, and raced roughly after the start, for which a warning was issued.

 

RACE 4 – GOLDEN APPLE PACE – 2147 metres

 

OTTOS WEALTH – Tightened entering the first turn when MAGINOT LINE hung-in, then hung-out and that runner contacted its sulky wheel. Checked from behind the tiring PAYROLL approaching the 400 metres, and locked wheels with that runner near the 400 metres when racing in restricted room between that runner and TEARIN UP THE SAND.

MAGINOT LINE – Pre-race swab sampled. Hung-in entering the first turn, tightening OTTOS WEALTH, then that runner hung-out and MAGINOT LINE contacted its sulky wheel, was checked and raced roughly. Driver M Towers was issued with a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that approaching the 1800 metres she shifted the gelding in when not sufficiently clear of BURTON which was inconvenienced.

TEARIN UP THE SAND – Broke gait after the start for which a warning was issued.

SMOKIN POCKET – Post-race swab sampled.

PAYROLL – Over-raced during the middle stages of the event. Commenced to lose ground from near the 500 metres. Locked wheels with OTTOS WEALTH near the 400 metres. A post-race Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer/Driver B Duck was questioned regarding the performance, he stated that he was disappointed with it, and at a loss to explain it, other than the mare raced keenly for most of the race and got fired up approaching the 800 metres when DEEBO improved to his outside.

MASTER GOUDA – Held up for clear running until near the 100 metres.

BURTON – Inconvenienced after the start when TEARIN UP THE SAND broke gait. Inconvenienced approaching the 1800 metres when MAGINOT LINE shifted-in.

 

RACE 5 – LANHAMS JEWELLERS PACE – 1758 metres

 

JILLIBY SAFFRON – Driver B Trembath was questioned regarding the tactics adopted with the mare, in particular in the early stages of the event where there appeared to be an opportunity to obtain cover behind DEE TERROR however the mare raced outside the leader until tiring from near the 500 metres. B Trembath stated that he had been instructed to drive the mare out at the start in an attempt to lead but if unable to lead after around 200 metres attempt to obtain cover. He added that entering the first turn he was going to attempt to obtain cover however DEE TERROR took a hold and he was left facing the breeze. He added that the mare raced keenly during the middle stages of the event resulting in them racing quicker sectionals than he would have liked and him not being able to obtain cover from anyone improving. He further added that he felt those factors effected its chances of being able to finish the race off, but he was disappointed with its run, given it was under pressure from near the 500 metres. A post-race Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the mare for its performance.

FREDEE TEE – Tired over the concluding stages of the event.

DEE TERROR – Broke gait free of interference near the 400 metres, for which a warning was issued, lost its off fore shoe while galloping.

HARRYS DEAL NZ – Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it was having its first race start in almost 12 months, and cleared to start. Pre-race swab sampled. Driver J Painting was given the opportunity to comment on the below market expectations performance of the gelding, he stated he was a bit disappointed with it, although it was first up for some time and while it had trialled, he felt its trial was only fair. He further added that he felt the gelding was laboured in its breathing following the race and would take benefit from it.

ALTA WILLIAM – Post-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 6 – COPRICE PACE – 1758 metres

 

JAZZMIN – Pre-race swab sampled. Hung-out under pressure in the home straight.

ROCKNROLL UPTON – Sulky contacted by GLAMOUR FOX near the 600 metres. At a subsequent inquiry, Driver N Turnbull pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that near the 600 metres, in an endeavour to obtain clear running, he shifted the gelding out when not clear of GLAMOUR FOX which contacted his sulky wheel and was checked and broke gait. In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account N Turnbull’s guilty plea, his driving record with regards to this rule and the particular circumstances of the incident. Driver N Turnbull had his license to drive in races suspended for a period of 10 days, to commence at midnight the 30th of April.

GLAMORS SYMBOL – Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it has had over 200 race starts, and cleared to start. Post-race swab sampled.

GLAMOUR FOX – Contacted the sulky wheel of ROCKNROLL UPTON near the 600 metres, when that runner shifted-out, and was checked and broke gait.

GIRLS VIEW – Held up for clear running until near the 100 metres.

 

RACE 7 – LEETON SOLDIERS CLUB PACE – 2147 metres

 

General – A short distance after the start at the first attempt to run this race, THE KID BILLY, which had been tightened when THE OCEAN SPIRIT NZ hung-in after the start, galloped and veered-in, as a result BROBENAH GIRL made heavy contact to its sulky and fell dislodging Driver P Dempsey from his sulky, and the fall siren was sounded and the race stopped. Prior to the re-running of the race, all-runners were examined by the Club Veterinarian and passed fit to start, with the exception of BROBENAH GIRL, which was declared a late scratching at 9.00pm on Vet’s advice. As a result of the re-running of this race, race 8 was re-scheduled to 9.45pm. P Dempsey was transported to the Griffith Hospital for further assessment to his injuries. He is stood down from driving for a period of 12 days under the HRNSW Concussion Policy and will be required to obtain a medical clearance prior to resuming driving.

KRISTYSGIRL – Near the 1800 metres the hopple shortener chord became entangled around the mare’s off hind hopple loop placing it at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.

STIPULATING – Pre-race swab sampled.

THE KID BILLY – At the first attempt to run this race, tightened after the start when  hung-in, galloped as a result and veered-in, as a result BROBENAH GIRL made heavy contact to its sulky and fell dislodging Driver P Dempsey from his sulky, the fall siren was sounded and the race stopped. Driver A Dean was examined by the on-course paramedics and passed fit to fulfil her remaining engagements. Veered-in after the next start resulting in STRIX and STAY ALPHA being severely checked. Given the circumstances connections were advised that it would be placed right outside the draw for future mobile start races and would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial.

THE OCEAN SPIRIT NZ – At the first attempt to run this race, hung-in after the start, for which a warning was issued.

MILLYANO – Post-race swab sampled.

STRIX – Severely checked after the start when THE KID BILLY veered-in.

BROBENAH GIRL – Made heavy contact to the sulky of THE KID BILLY shortly after the start at the first attempt to run this race and fell dislodging Driver P Dempsey from his sulky. Race was stopped. Declared a late scratching at 9.00pm on Vet’s advice. A post race Veterinary examination revealed the mare to have sustained lacerations to both front legs, acting on Veterinary advice the mare was stood down from racing for seven days.

STAY ALPHA – Severely checked and broke gait after the start when THE KID BILLY veered-in.

ITS A FOND MEMORY – Inconvenienced after the start when THE KID BILLY veered-in. Raced roughly near the 600 metres, connections were advised it would be laced on its last chance to race truly.

 

RACE 8 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1758 metres

 

BLUES TERROR – Post-race swab sampled.

I AM THE TORNADO – Pre-race swab sampled.
