RACE 1 – BARKERS BUTCHERY MEAT RAFFLE ON TONIGHT PACE – 1730 metres

MITCHELLS RUN - Driver Blake Medlyn was questioned in relation to the overall performance of the gelding.  Mr Medlyn explained that approaching the 1000 metre mark the gelding commenced to over race, and in his belief may have choked down resulting in MITCHELLS RUN tiring over concluding stages to be beaten 68.6 metres.  In view of the overall performance of MITCHELLS RUN stewards issued a warning against the gelding. A post race veterinary examination fail to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

ROWDY SHANNON - Pre-race blood test.

TUAPEKA LOU NZ - Broke after the start was issued its last chance in the draw.

NO LUCK - Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres. Post-race swab.

MRFOURTHOUSAND - Was inconvenienced when being held up momentarily behind the tiring MITCHELLS RUN.

 

RACE 2 – TAB REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS - WESTERN HEAT 1 – 2260 metres

LAYLA SHANNON - Was held up in the early stages of the home straight.

ERIC THE KICKER – Pre-race blood test

PLATINUM JEWEL - Pre-race blood test. Worked forward to the lead approaching the 1600 metres.

STUDLEIGH MELISE - Worked forward to the lead passing the 1900 metres.

MAN MOUNTAIN - Commenced to improve three wide passing the 1600 metres before finding a position outside the leader at the 1400 metres.

DARK TERROR - Commenced to improve three wide at the 1400 metres before finding a position outside the leader at the 1100 metres. Post-race swab.

 

RACE 3 – TAB REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS - WESTERN HEAT 2 – 2260 metres

WATTOSBLAZEOFGLORY – Trainer/driver Wayne Watterson was questioned in regards to the overall performance of WATTOSBLAZEOFGLORY after to commencing tire at the 800 metres to be beaten 337.5 metres. Mr Watterson explained the gelding performed below his expectations and couldn't really explain the performance he did indicate WATTOSBLAZEOFGLORY would now be sent for a spell and as a result stewards stood the gelding down for a period of 28 days.  Post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding may have been in the early stages of a virus.  As a result of the overall performance of the gelding WATTOSBLAZEOFGLORY will be required to perform one re-qualifying trial.

LUCKY PUNT - Was checked behind WATTOSBLAZEOFGLORY passing the 800 metres when that runner was tiring.

VAMOS - Driver Jake Davis was questioned in relation to his driving tactics and the overall performance of the gelding. After working forward early in the event to find a position outside the leader he then resisted a challenge from TAKE OUT which was racing in a three wide position to remain in a position outside the leader and tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 71.9 metres. Mr Davis explained that he felt his gelding races better when in a forward position and was of the opinion that TAKE OUT wasn't the best horse to take him into the race in the later stages and as a result elected to continue to race in a position outside the leader however the work that needed to be done in the early stages may have been detrimental to the overall performance of the gelding. Stewards reminded Mr Davis to ensure his horses are driven in a manner given every chance in future engagements.  As a result of the overall performance of the gelding VAMOS will be required to perform one re-qualifying trial.

TAKE OUT - Driver Amanda Turnbull was questioned in relation to the overall performance of the gelding, after beginning fairly and working forward became apparent to Ms Turnbull the position outside the leader was not available and as a result was restrained to the rear field approaching the 1300 metres. Ms Turnbull stated the gelding over raced significantly when being restrained and that contributed to the overall performance of TAKE OUT. Given the beaten margin of 89.2 metres, TAKE OUT will be required to perform one re-qualifying trial before returning to the races.

NOVANTA RISING - Worked forward to the lead approaching the 1600 metres.

ALWAYSBEMINNIE - Pre-race blood test. Approaching the 800 metres was checked as a result of WATTOSBLAZEOFGLORY giving ground.

GLITTER AINT GOLD – Post-race swab.

POPS LEGACY - Commenced to improve three wide passing the 1300 metres before working forward a position outside the leader at the 1000 metres.

 

RACE 4 – TAB REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS - WESTERN HEAT 3 – 2260 METRES

BETTER SUSH – Post-race swab.

HUNTER SHANNON - Was held up in the early stages of the home straight.

ART OF TERROR - Pre-race blood test. Three wide early before working forward a position outside the leader at the 1600 metres.

KICK THE SWITCH - Three wide early before working forward to the lead approach the 1800 metres.

ALWAYS ADORNED - Out of position at the start and will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

FASHION ICON - Out of position at the start and will be continued out of the draw in mobile starts. Caught in a three wide position early before working forward to a position outside the leader approaching the 1300 metres.

 

RACE 5 – ELITE MEATS AT BARKERS BUTCHERY OBERON PACE – 1730 metres

DRIVE TO THE BEACH - Post-race swab.

IM DESIRABLE - Three wide early before working forward position outside the leader at the 1400 metres.

PAS DE CHEVAL - Three wide early before working forward to position outside the leader at the 1200 metres.

SAINT EMILION - Pre-race blood test.

MIGHTY FLYING ART NZ - Driver Jye Coney was questioned in relation to the overall performance of the gelding after racing in a favourable running line position the MIGHTY FLYING ART NZ failed to run on over concluding stages to finish in ninth position beaten 16.5 metres. Mr Coney explained he feels the gelding races best when able to lead in its races and doesn't seem to race as good when driven with cover.  In future when able to do so will be driven to lead.

 

RACE 6 – COBBITTY EQUINE HARNESS BREEDERS NSW LADYSHIP PACE – 1730 metres

BELLAGANOOSH - Hung out under pressure upon entry to the home straight.

VALENTINI – Approaching the 300 metres was tightened for room as a result of ROCKINDOWNUNDER hanging in slightly and as a result also checked JUNGLE BEAUTY. ROCKINDOWNUNDER – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to race. Approaching the 300 metres when racing in a three wide position hung in tightening VALENTINI as a result placing JUNGLE BEAUTY  into restricted room. Approaching the 200 metres was inconvenienced as a result of SHARPER MEMORY shifting wider on the track.

BACKWARDS FIRST - Worked forward to the lead approaching the 1200 metres.  Inconvenienced approaching the 200 metres as a result of BELLAGANOOSH hanging out when under pressure.

TIME TO TORQUE – Post-race swab.

TISBURY ROCKS - Worked forward to the position outside the leader at the 1400 metres.  Approaching the 200 metres was inconvenienced as a result of BELLAGANOOSH  hanging out under pressure. .

JUNGLE BEAUTY - Pre-race blood test. Approaching 300 metres was checked and contacted marker pegs when VALENTINI was shifting down the track when it was placed into restricted room as a result of ROCKINDOWNUNDER hanging.

SHARPER MEMORY - Driver Blake Medlyn was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that at approximately the 250 metres he has allowed the mare to shift slightly wider on the track placing ROCKINDOWNUNDER into restricted room.

 

RACE 7 – MEMBERS BADGE DRAW NEXT WEDNESDAY NIGHT PACE - 1730 metres

SHE THE DEVIL - Approaching the first turn was placed into restricted room as a result of ZACHERY SHANNON which was racing wide on the track hanging in.

OUR TRIPLE MAJOR – Approaching the first turn was placed into restricted room as a result of ZACHERY SHANNON which was racing wide on the track hanging in.

PAPENHUYZEN NZ – Approaching the first turn was placed into restricted room as a result of ZACHERY SHANNON which was racing wide on the track hanging in.

MAMMALS GIRL - Pre-race blood test. Post-race swab.

ZACHERY SHANNON - When racing in a five wide position had a tendency to hang in placing SHE THE DEVIL, OUR TRIPLE MAJOR and PAPENHUYZEN NZ into restricted room.
Restrained to a rearward position passed in the 1300 metres. Approaching the 70 metre mark was checked when THE DANCER was looking to shift wider on the track and shifted PAPENHUYZEN NZ up the track slightly into the line of ZACHERY SHANNON.  Held up over the concluding stages and was not fully tested.

HELENS BOY - Out of position at the start for which a warning was issued.

THE DANCER - Driver Anthony Winnell was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) causing interference, in that approaching the 70 metres he has allowed the gelding to shift wider on the track shifting PAPENHUYZEN NZ up into the line of ZACHERY SHANNON checking the gelding

 

RACE 8 – BECOME A BHRC MEMBER, IN CLUB OR ONLINE AT BATHURSTHARNESSRACING.ORG PACE - 1703 metres

GRACE SHANNON - Worked forward to the lead past the 1300 metres.

HOPPALONGPOG – Post-race swab.

LUCKY IN AMERICA - Caught wide early before working forward to a position outside the leader approaching the 1250 metres. Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 59.7 metres. Driver Jett Turnbull was questioned in relation to the overall performance of the mare. Mr Turnbull stated that he felt LUCKY IN AMERICA was best suited to racing on half mile tracks. Post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. In regards to the overall performance of LUCKY IN AMERICA a warning was issued.

ZARAS SPECIAL - Pre-race blood test.

 

RACE 9 – HRNSW GUARANTEED 2YO PACE – 1730 METRES

CHEVAL JULIA – Post race swab.

CALIFORNIAPRINCESS - Had a tendency to over race throughout the event. Passing the 300 metres when racing keenly contacted the sulky of AURORA MIGHTY ROB and raced roughly.

ELECRTA DEL – Tired over the concluding stages to be 50.2 metres.
