RACE 1 – COUTTS LAWYERS & CONVEYANCERS PACE – 1609 metres
CASSIUS DECK – Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.
DISTRICT ATTORNEY – Pre-race blood sample.
PETES SAID SO NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines due to the gelding having competed in more than 200 lifetime starts. No abnormalities were detected.
IM THE FALCON NZ – Post-race swab sample.
RAVISHING SLOY – Inclined to lay in entering the first turn.
CHEVRON ART NZ – Caught wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside the leader approaching the 1000 metres.
RACE 2 – TAB TANYIA HARRIS OAM LADY DRIVERS INVITATIONAL – 1609 metres
FRANCO TYSON – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
SWEETHEART BART - Pre-race blood sample.
TITIAN RAIDER – Raced roughly under pressure over the final 300 metres.
AMERICAN HAMMER NZ – Caught wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field approaching the 1200 metres.
RAGING SEA – Had difficulty securing clear running until shifting wider near the 150 metres.
RACE 3 – DEDICATED TO THE MCGRATH FOUNDATION PACE – 1609 metres
QUIET STORM – Pre-race blood sample. Unable to secure clear running until leaving the 200 metres.
DANCE AND DELIVER – Unable to secure clear running until passing the 100 metres at which point the gelding was shifted wider.
HAS THE COURAGE – Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.
THE NARCISSIST – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
NO HEART THROB NZ – Broke gait in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was issued.
RACE 4 – FRAN FITZPATRICK CHERYL MCDOWELL PINK BONNET (GROUP 3) – 1609 metres
TONYS DREAM - Pre-race blood sample.
QUATRO MOTH - Pre-race blood sample. Inclined to shift out when placed under pressure over the concluding stages. Post race swab sample.
CAPTURE OUR HEART NZ - Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
CONCILIATE - Pre-race blood sample. Caught wide in the early stages before working forward.
KELLYS COLOURS – Unable to secure clear running until approaching the 100 metres.
RACE 5 – HARAS DES TROTTEURS NSW TROTTERS OAKS (GROUP 1) – 2300 metres
GATESYS GEM – Pre-race blood sample. Post race swab sample.
JILLIBY DREAMLOVER – Passing the 1700 metres became unbalanced and broke gait. The filly then resumed to trot and near the 1200 metres broke on a second occasion. Connections were advised JILLIBY DREAMLOVER would be stood down from racing until it can complete one satisfactory official trial. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the near fore cannon region that required sutures. JILLIBY DREAMLOVER was stood down pending a veterinary certificate of fitness.
MISS OHANA - Pre-race blood sample.
ALDEBARAN SUE - Pre-race blood sample. Out of position at the start. A warning was issued.
BERTINELLI – Broke gait at the start. A warning was issued.
WHY TANYA SUE – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines given the filly was having her first race start since 25 June 2024. No abnormalities were detected. Broke gait in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was issued. The filly commenced to trot and leaving the 1900 metres became unbalanced and broke gait. A further warning was issued.
KEAYANG KURKI - Pre-race blood sample. Broke gait in the latter stages of the score up and was out of position at the start. Connections were advised KEAYANG KURKI would now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.
ORIA – Sustained a flat tyre offside sulky tire near the 900 metres. Leaving the 300 metres became unbalanced and broke gait when shifting wider on the track. In view of the filly’s overall record, connections were advised ORIA would be stood down for a period of 10 days and until it can complete two satisfactory official trials.
TRACY THE JET – Out of position at the start. A warning was issued. Post-race swab sample.
IRON WOMEN – Overraced during the middle stages and made slight contact with the offside sulky wheel of ORIA. Post-race swab sample.
RACE 6 – JOHN GIBSON MEMORIAL NSW OAKS (GROUP 1) – 2300 metres
All runners in this event were housed in the HRNSW retention facilities from 12pm Thursday May 8 and were subject to out of competition testing.
SOHO AMERICANO – Post-race swab sample.
SUGAR PIE HONEY – Post-race swab sample.
COOL AND CLASSY – Improved three wide in the middle stage before working forward to the position outside the leader near the 800 metres. Post-race swab sample.
IVESEENHEAVENSLIGHT – Shifted out near the 1500 metres and when unable to improve three wide was then restrained toward the rear of the field approaching the 1200 metres.
MISS ARI – Failed to run on over the concluding stages. When questioned C Alford explained that after unsuccessfully jostling for the position in the running line leaving the 2000 metres MISS ARI over raced when positioned on the marker pegs. He added that approaching the 400 metres he took MISS ARI wider on the track the filly failed to respond and did not finish the race off. C Alford’s explanation was noted. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Connections were advised MISS ARI would be stood down until it completes one satisfactory official trial for what was deemed to be an inconsistent performance.
RACE 7 – PRYDES EASIFEED QUEEN ELIZABETH II MILE (GROUP 1) – 1609 metres
All runners in this event were housed in the HRNSW retention facilities from 12pm Thursday May 8 and were subject to out of competition testing.
SWEETNIKKILOU – Near the 250 metres SWEETNIKKILOU shifted out when not quite clear of PANDAIA NZ resulting in that runner being tightened and taken out towards SWEET BELLA. Driver A Dunn was issued a reprimand under Rule 162(1)(www)(i). A Dunn pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 156(2)(a) for applying his whip to SWEETNIKKILOU in more than a wrist only flicking motion when racing between the 200 metres and the 100 metres. A Dunn was fined $400.
PANDAIA NZ – Near the 250 metres was taken out by SWEETNIKKILOU and placed in restricted room between that runner and SWEET BELLA and subsequently PANDAIA NZ had to be steadied.
RAKERO REBEL NZ – Near the 150 metres commenced to shift in when placed under pressure. Driver B Fitzpatrick pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 156(2)(a) for applying his whip to RAKERO REBEL NZ in more than a wrist only flicking motion over the final 200 metres. B Fitzpatrick was fined $800. B Fitzpatrick pleaded guilty to a charge under 159B(1)(a)(i) for failing to wear a protective vest when competing in this particular race. After considering submissions from B Fitzpatrick in relation to penalty the inquiry was adjourned until Tuesday 13 May 2025 to afford Stewards an opportunity to consider his submissions and his overall record with respect to his prior protective vest offences. SWEET BELLA – Near the 150 metres was placed in restricted room when PANDAIA NZ was taken wider by SWEETNIKKILOU and RAKERO REBEL NZ shifted in when slightly under pressure. Subsequently SWEET BELLA had to be steadied.
LUX AETERNA – Commenced to weaken near the 300 metres and tired over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare was suffering from atrial fibrillation. Acting under Rule 101C(2)(b) Trainer/Driver R Alchin was advised LUX AETERNA would be stood down for a period of 28 days. The mare will also require a veterinary certificate inclusive of a satisfactory ECG. In addition, LUX AETERNA must complete two satisfactory official trials prior to resuming racing.
EYE KEEP SMILING – Caught wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside the leader. Post-race swab sample.

RACE 8 – SLINGSBY HOLDINGS MACARTHUR MILE (GROUP 1) – 1609 metres
GOLDEN SUNSET - Pre-race blood sample. Broke gait in the score up and at the start was inclined to hang out, then shortly after became unbalanced and broke gait near the 1400 metres. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on GOLDEN SUNSET.
SUSAN IS HER NAME - Pre-race blood sample. Shifted in slightly after the start at the same time GLODEN SUNSET hung out resulting in GOLDEN SUNSET making slight contact with the near side wheel of SUSAN IS HER NAME. Post-race swab sample.

DICHOTOMY – Approaching the 1000 metres became unbalanced and broke gait. A warning was issued.

RACE 10 – CARLTON DRY PACE – 1609 metres
DOUBLE FEAR – Pre-race blood sample.
SKYLORD - Pre-race blood sample. Unable to secure clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.
ROMANEE NZ – had difficulty securing clear running in the latter stages of the home straight and was not fully tested.
CAULONIA COURAGE – Shortly after the start displaced its near foreleg shin and tendon boot and raced roughly for a short distance.

RACE 8 – MULTIQUIP AGGREGATES PACE – 1609 metres
Trainer J Grimson reported that FIRE FOX NZ underwent an endoscopic examination and was found to have an inflamed airway. Adopting the veterinary advice FIRE FOX NZ would undergo a course of antibiotics prior to resuming racing.
