YERING SOHO – Driver Jack Stockton was queried on the tactics adopted throughout the race in particular his decision to run the first half in 57.2 seconds. He stated the tactics provided by trainer Jake Stockton was to lead and keep the other runners no closer than the sulky wheel. After having to do more work than suitable to obtain the lead from MILLWOOD GRACE NZ he was further pressured by DEEWHY to hold the lead until the 1400 metres, where he then let the mare keep an advantage over that runner as instructed until giving ground from the 500 metres until breaking stride at the 300 metres. Jack Stockton was advised although driving to instructions it would be expected he ensures he drives within the capabilities of his drive. Jake Stockton was also advised when giving instructions they have some flexibility and are well within the horse's capabilities. Leaving the 300 metres became unbalanced and broke stride. A warning was issued. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

DEEWHY – Driver J Turnbull was queried on the overall performance of the gelding which appeared to perform below market expectations when finishing in 8th position beaten 19.7 metres.
