RACE 4 – TOM YOUNG CONCRETING PACE -

GABBYS SPORTSTAR – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having started in more than 200 races. These examinations did not reveal any significant findings.

SHEZ A WARRIOR – Driver Jett Turnbull was questioned regarding the performance of the mare and the tactics adopted passing the 600 metres where SHEZ A WARRIOR improved forward in an attempt to secure the lead before the mare commenced to give ground over the concluding stages. Mr Turnbull explained he was instructed to lead and if not possible to occupy a forward position. Mr Turnbull added that shortly after passing the 600 metres it was apparent the leader OUR DICKIE BART commenced to be placed under pressure and for this reason he allowed SHEZ A WARRIOR to improve forward as the mare was still travelling well and felt that should he progress forward he would likely be able to secure the lead and consequently save ground rounding the final turn. Mr Turnbull added that upon obtaining a three quarter length advantage on OUR DICKIE BART that runner was able to improve to his inside which prevented SHEZ A WARRIOR from crossing to the lead and just prior to straightening the mare commenced to be placed under pressure and gave ground over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination of SHEZ A WARRIOR failed to reveal any significant findings.

NEVERTOOLATE – Broke clear of interference passing the 1400 metres.

WILLIES DOLLAR – Post-race swab sample.

LENNOX BROMAC NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

RACE 5 – WORKLOCKER PARKES PACE – 1660 metres

IM LORD TOMMY – Trainer/Driver Nathan Turnbull was questioned regarding the performance of the gelding which finished in 7th and second last placing beaten 39 metres ($8.50). Mr Turnbull explained in his opinion IM LORD TOMMY performs best when able to lead and was slightly up in class in tonight’s event which he felt in combination resulted in tonight’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination of IM LORD TOMMY failed to reveal any significant findings.

HELLO I TEA – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

RACE 6 – PARKES LEAGUES CLUB PACE – 1660 metres

KARINYA MAX – Pre-race blood sample.

CELEBRITY CRUISE – Post-race swab sample.

MIDNIGHT TERROR – Inconvenienced approaching the 1500 metres when PHANTOM STAR broke gait. Hung in badly rounding each turn resulting in MIDNIGHT TERROR losing ground. Given the recent record of MIDNIGHT TERROR, connections were advised the gelding would be required to trial the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.

PHANTOM STAR – Broke clear of interference passing the 1500 metres and a warning was issued.
