RACE 1 – CJM WELDING & FABRICATION PACE– 1740 metres

JETS REASON – Pre-race swab. Raced roughly passing the 200m.

EVA WARATAH – Post-race swab.

MAJOR TRANSPARENCY – Fractious in the pre-race circle & refused to score up and was subsequently retired from the event. MAJOR TRANSPARENCY will now be placed right outside the draw in future mobile start event & stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of stewards on one (1) occasion.

RACE 2– SJC CONTRACTING PACE – 1740 metres

General: The start of this event was delayed three (3) minutes due to an international thoroughbred event being behind its scheduled starting time & MIAMI SURF having to change sulky’s when sustaining a flat tyre in the preliminary.

INGERMARLA – Pre-race warm up.

SHERMAN – Pre-race swab

I AM THE TORNADO – Post-race swab.

MIAMI SURF – Over raced during the middle stages of the event. Held up and failed to gain clear running for the entire length of the home straight.

EYES FOR DOLLARS – Fractious during the early stages of the score up.

RACE 3 – DUNCAN’S FLOOR COVERINGS PACE – 1740 metres

NO MORE PROMISES – ($4.60) Pre-race swab. Driver Blake Jones was queried into the seemingly poor performance of the mare which finished in 8th position beaten 36.7m after leading. Mr Jones advised the mare to be disappointing & contributed the performance to the mare having to work more than expected to maintain the lead during the early stages of the event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

ELLAVA PACER – Hung inwards under pressure passing the 200m locking wheels with MOST CERTAIN MICKY.

JAZZMIN – Hung outwards under pressure inside the final 100m.

MOST CERTAIN MICKY – Inconvenienced passing the 200m when ELLAVA PACER hung inwards and locked wheels.

CRACKER MISS – Post-race swab.

YOO TRISH – Broke gait during the early stages of the score up and was significantly out of position when the start was effected. YOO TRISH will now be placed right outside the draw in future mobile starting events. In taking this action stewards were mindful of the mare’s poor barrier manners record. YOO TRISH took no competitive part in the event.

RACE 4– WWG SUPPORTING SHAKA PROJECT PACE – 1740 metres

GLAMORS SYMBOL – ($4.60) Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the mare having started in excess of 200 starts. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormalities. Trainer Paul Kahlefeldt was queried into the overall performance of the mare which finished in 9th position beaten 19.5m after trailing the leader throughout. Mr Kahlefeldt advised the mare to be disappointing and contributed the performance to the mare having to be utilised more than expected during the early stages of the event.

HARVEY HUGHES NZ – Post-race swab.

BLAZING – Held up and failed to gait clear running for the entire length of the home straight.

ALICE ON THE BEACH – Pre-race swab

RACE 5 – MARK & CALEB DOWNEY BAR STAFF PACE – 1740 metres

ARKLOW – Hung inwards under pressure passing the 400m tightening the racing room of RAGING ON NZ.

RAGING ON NZ – Tightened for racing room passing the 400m when ARKLOW hung inwards. Raced roughly under pressure from the 300m onwards. Held up and failed to gain clear running for the entire length of the home straight.

TIGER CHEDDAR – Pre-race swab & Post-race swab.

RACE 6 – THE TAB APP WARATAH HEAT – 1740 metres

General: The start of this event was delayed two (2) minutes due to an international thoroughbred event being behind its scheduled starting time.

LACHIES DELIGHT – Pre-race swab.

ROCKETON – Broke gait clear of interference passing the 400m. A warning was issued against the racing manners of ROCKETON.

THE MOUNTAIN – Driver Shane Hallcroft was fined the sum of $200 under AHR Rule 156(2)(a) for applying the whip to the gelding with more than a wrist flicking motion and with overt force.

TINTINS TREASURE – Post-race swab.

LENNETH – ($3.20 Fav) Driver Blake Jones was queried into the overall performance of the gelding which finished in 7th position beaten 13.5m. Mr Jones advised the gelding was unable to progress into the event after the three (3) wide line commenced from the 1000m as it would of detrimental to chances to progress in advanced to lead the line such a distance from the finish with the gelding. Mr Jones added LENNETH was inconvenienced when attempting to follow TINTINS TREASURE for a run passing the 200m which halted the gelding’s momentum.

RACE 7 – GOOD LUCK BOBBY, RYDER & KAYNE PACE – 2140 metres

General: The start of this event was delayed one (1) minute due to an international thoroughbred event being behind its scheduled starting time.

KARINYA HAZ – Sulky contacted passing the 400m.

KEAYANG ALEX – Driver Michael Towers pleaded guilty to a charge under AHR Rule 168(1)(a) for carelessly allowing KEAYANG ALEX to improve forward & make heavy contact to the sulky wheel of KARINYA HAZ passing the 400m causing KEAYANG ALEX to break gait. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account the relevant considerations as outlined within the HRNSW Penalty Guidelines placing significant weight on Mr Towers’s guilty plea & forthright evidence, his good driving record (1582 drives since last offence January 2017) & the degree of interference.  Stewards accordingly imposed a seven (7) day suspension of his licence to drive in races commencing midnight 18th May 2025.

TEDDY FEELS GOOD – Pre-race swab. Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having not started in the preceding 12 months. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormalities. No claims lodged.

WATCHMEDAZZLE – Pulled hard during the score up. Over raced during the early & middle stages of the event. Held up and failed to gain clear running for the entire length of the home straight. No claims lodged

LOUIS THE LEGEND – Post-race swab.

RACE 8 – CARBINE CHEMICALS PACE – 1740 metres

JILLIBY SAFFRON – Yielded ground rapidly from the 700m to finish in 7th and last position beaten 82.4m. JILLIBY SAFFRON will now be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of stewards on one (1) occasion. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

OTTOS WEALTH – ($7.00) Trainer/driver Stephen Maguire was queried into the overall performance of the gelding which finished in 6th position beaten 21.3m after a racing in a favorable one-one position. Mr Maguire advised OTTOS WEALTH was rising in grade to its most recent start & was not suited commencing a three (3) wide run from the 600m combined with the overall quick mile rate of 1.56.4.

POSH FELLA NZ – Pre-race swab

JUST ROLLYOUROWN NZ – Driver John Downey was fined the sum of $200 under AHR Rule 156(2)(a) for applying the whip to the gelding with a free hand without holding a rein on multiple occasions inside the final 250m. Post-race swab.
