RACE 1 – STATE OF ORIGIN @ CLUB PACEWAY MAY 28 PACE – 2125 metres

WHEREISHE – Rounding the final turn hung in under pressure placing GREY CADILLAC into restricted room. Post-race swab sample.

MAGIC MATTEO – Hung in at various stages of the event.

GREY CADILLAC – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to the lead passing the 1400 metres. Rounding the final turn was tightened and contacted marker pegs as a result of WHEREISHE hanging in under pressure.

 

RACE 2 – THE MANAGEMENT EDGE RTO PACE – 1720 metres

OURSURFINSAFARI – Inconvenienced from the 400 metres until a point passing the 200 metres when being held up behind BELLRIVERGIRL which was giving ground.

GOZO COURAGE – Tightened passing the 400 metres as a result of BART MAGUIRE NZ hanging in under pressure.

BELLRIVERGIRL – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1500 metres. Commenced to give ground from the 400 metres to be beaten 31.9 metres.

TIGER EUPHEME – Caught wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field passing the 1200 metres. Driver Josh Gallagher was fined the sum of $200 under Rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving, in that passing the 800 metres he has contacted and flattened the near side sulky wheel of JUS BLING IT.

GOOD LOOKIN MARGIE – Held up for clear running in the home straight and not fully tested.

BART MAGUIRE NZ – Commenced to improve three wide form the 1350 metres before remaining to racing in a three wide position for the remainder of the race. Hung in when under pressure placing GOZO COURAGE into restricted room for which a warning was issued.

OUR ULTIMATE LAYLA – Commenced to improve three wide with a trail from the 900 metres. Post-race swab sample.

JUS BLING IT – Pre-race blood sample. Commenced to improve three wide with a trail from the 900 metres. Passing the 800 metres had its near side sulky wheel contacted and flattened by TIGER EUPHEME.

 

RACE 3 – INFAMOUS CIRCUS SHOWING NOW @ PENRITH SHOWGROUND PACE – 1720 metres

RAYS REDEMPTION – Three wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader at the 1400 metres.

SWEDISH MEATBALLS – Pre-race blood sample.

ZEN MASTER – Three wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader at the 1300 metres. Post-race swab sample.

OBADIAH DRAGON NZ – Three wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader at the 1100 metres.

EYE CAN TRY – Held up for clear running in the home straight and not fully tested.

CYCLONE BELLA NZ – Rounding the home turn when being held up, raced keenly, hung out and broke gait for which a warning was issued.

 

RACE 4 – STARZ GAME SHOW EVERY SATURDAY @ CLUB PACEWAY PACE – 2125 metres

BOLERO – Approaching the 1900 metres contacted the sulky of MISTER MANAGER and was checked and raced roughly.

MISTER MANAGER – Approaching the 1950 metres had its sulky contacted by DONTLETFEARSTOPYA NZ as a result of that horse hanging in. Approaching the 1900 metres was placed into restricted room as a result of DONTLETFEARSTOPYA NZ hanging in resulting in BOLERO being checked and racing roughly. Post-race swab sample.

BOYZHAVTIME NZ – Held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.

DONTLETFEARSTOPYA NZ – Approaching the 1950 metres hung in and contacted MISTER MANAGER momentarily unseating Driver Seaton Grima. Continued to hang in until approaching the 1900 metres placing MISTER MANAGER and BOLERO into restricted room and as a result BOLERO was checked and raced roughly. In view of the circumstances, DONTLETFEARSTOPYA NZ was placed on its last chance to race truly. Driver Seaton Grima was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for contributing to interference, in that although the racing manners of DONTLETFEARSTOPYA NZ was the main contributing factor, Mr Grima could have done more to prevent the incident. Approaching the 500 metres Mr Grima’s left foot dropped below the sulky rest. After viewing the films and taking evidence from Mr Grima it was established that when he was unseated earlier in the event the earplug cord had moved and when he went to pull the cord he needed to drop his foot to be able to activate the gear and as a result no action was taken.

AMERICAN WEREWOLF – Pre-race blood sample. Driver Joshua Gallagher was questioned in regards to the overall performance having started $4.40 in the event and failed to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 33.4 metres. Mr Gallagher stated he was forced to race in a three wide position over the last half of the race in a fast 57.5 half and as a result was unable to get into the event.

 

RACE 5 – PENRITH MAZDA PACE – 1720 metres

TERROR EYES NZ – Three wide early before working forward to the lead at the 1200 metres.

TIL HEAVENS ROCKN NZ – Hung in under pressure.

MERRYWOOD TONY – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 6 – BIRD YARD BIG BAND JUNE 1 @ CLUB PACEWAY PACE – 1720 metres

IMA SHINKANSEN – Pre-race blood sample. Held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.

OUR THUNDER – Approaching the 200 metres was checked as a result of WATCH AFRICANDANCE racing roughly.

WATCH AFRICANDANCE - Approaching the 200 metres was checked and raced roughly as a result of GOTTADOBETTOR shifting away from the marker pegs.

KINGSTON RAINBOW – Caught wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader at the 1200 metres. Post-race swab sample.

ROCKET RALPH – Caught wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field at the 1200 metres. Approaching the 200 metres was checked and raced roughly as a result of WATCH AFRICANDANCE racing roughly.

GOTTADOBETTOR – Driver Vaughan Duncan pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that approaching the 200 metres when attempting to shift wider on the track has placed pressure onto WATCH AFRICANDANCE causing that runner to be checked and race roughly and as a result checked a number of runners in the event. Driver Vaughan Duncan had his licence to drive in races suspended for a period of 14 days to commence midnight 7 June 2025. In assessing penalty Stewards considered Mr Duncan’s plea, record in relation to the rule and the circumstances of this incident.

ROCK ASSET – Commenced to improve three wide at the 800 metres. Approaching the 500 metres became unbalanced and broke gait. In view of the mare having its second race start, ROCK ASSET was stood down until it can complete one requalifying trial. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

LONGTAN VIPER – Approaching the 200 metres was inconvenienced as a result of WATCH AFRICANDANCE racing roughly.

TRISTAR FOR CHRIS – Commenced to improve three wide at the 900 metres. Inconvenienced at the 500 metres as a result of ROCK ASSET breaking gait and again inconvenienced approaching the 200 metres as a result of WATCH AFRICANDANCE racing roughly.

 

RACE 7 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1720 metres

DASHING CHEDDAR – Post-race swab sample.

BETTOR BE LUCKY – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

SKYE MARY MAC NZ – Broke in the score up and was out of position at the start for which a warning was issued.

WEAREALLALONE – Held up in the early stages of the home straight.

BETTING STAR – Pre-race blood sample. Driver Seaton Grima was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(j) for failing to maintain his position behind the starting gate. Over raced throughout the event.

SILENT REACTION – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

CROWN MOJO – Commenced to improve three wide at the 1350 metres before finding the position outside the leader at the 1300 metres.

A VAPAR STORM – Three wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader at the 1100 metres.

 

RACE 8 – BEATS BREWS & BBQ TICKETS ON SALE NOW PACE – 2125 metres

HESAA LISTER – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 142.3 metres. In view of the performance of the gelding HESAA LISTER will be required to perform one requalifying trial.

ANGUS FINN NZ – Worked forward to the lead at the 1700 metres. Post-race swab sample.

MULLUM AXEL – Pre-race blood sample. Passing the 600 metres and until the 500 metres was checked when held up behind the tiring HESAA LISTER.

PETES CRUNCH TIME – Driver Robert Morris was questioned in regards to the overall performance of the gelding having started $1.40 favourite in the event and being beaten 18.6 metres into 4th position. Mr Morris explained PETES CRUNCH TIME was racing up in grade and felt a combination of that and racing over 2125 metres was unsuitable.
