RACE 1 – ‘TAB WE’RE ON’ PACE – 1770 metres

PENCIL ME IN – Post-race swab sample.

FINANCIALLY STABLE – Pre-race blood sample. Caught racing three wide in the early stages until being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1250 metres.

LOYOLA GOLF – Became unbalanced and galloped shortly after entering the first turn for which a warning was issued.

 

RACE 2 – GLEN MIA (ACT) PTY LTD PACE – 1770 metres

PYEKAKARIKI – Pre-race blood sample. Hung out after the start. Placed in restricted room approaching the first turn when WEENEEDDREAMS was shifted down the track with marginal clearance. Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

WEENEEDDREAMS – Driver S Adams was advised to ensure she provides more room when crossing down forward of runners in that approaching the first turn she has only provided marginal clearance over PYEKAKARIKI and placed that runner in restricted room for a short distance. Post-race swab sample.

GIRLS VIEW – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1500 metres.

LITTLE CESSNA – Raced three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside the leader passing the 1400 metres. Stewards questioned Driver W Rixon in relation to the performance of the gelding when failing to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 24.6 metres and finished in last position. Mr Rixon explained that the gelding races best when able to lead and was not suited to be caught racing outside the leader. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

PADDY MACH – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding being 12 years of age and having competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.

RUM DELIGHT NZ - A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding being 12 years of age and having competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.

 

RACE 3 – WATTY’S RURAL & DOMESTIC FENCING – 1770 metres

HARVEY HUGHES NZ – Post-race swab sample.

CHOCOLATE DELIGHT – Hung in rounding the final turn and contacted a number of marker pegs.

MUSCLE TOWN – Became unbalanced and galloped passing the 200 metres for which a warning was issued.

PLAYING FOR KEEPS – Pre-race blood sample. Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

WORTH EVERY CENT – Improved three wide from the 1300 metres until obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 1150 metres. Hung in under pressure leaving the 500 metres and rounding the final turn for which a warning was issued.

ITSOKAYNOTTOBEOKAY – Improved three wide form the 750 metres and raced without cover for the remainder of the event.

 

RACE 4 – MGA INSURANCE BROKERS PACE – 2170 metres

BONJORGE – Pre-race blood sample. Contacted the sulky wheel of RAINBOW MOUNTIAN and paced roughly for a short distance when that runner hung in when racing to its outside approaching the first turn.

CHRISSY EVE – Pre-race warm up. Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1950 metres. Post-race swab sample.

RAINBOW MOUNTAIN – Hung in, raced roughly and contacted the sulky of BONJORGE for which a warning was issued. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

HELLOVATIME – Raced three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside the leader passing the 1600 metres.

TWICE SHY NZ - A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the mare having not competed in the previous 12 months. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination. Gave ground over the final 600 metres to be beaten 216.6 metres and finished in last position. Driver J Locke stated he was disappointed in the performance of the mare and added that connections would reassess the racing future of the mare within their stable. In view of the disappointing performance of TWICE SHY NZ the mare was stood down until it completes one requalifying trial.

 

RACE 5 – LONSDALE AUTO ELECTRICS PACE – 2170 metres

TROUBLE IN HEAVEN – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1700 metres. Post-race swab sample.

WARRAWEE CRUZIN – Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

ALWAYS BE BRENDAN – Stewards questioned Driver J Locke in relation to his decision passing the 1750 metres to improve from the one out one back position to obtain the position outside the leader passing the 1600 metres. Mr Locke explained that due to the tempo of the event being eased at this point from EYEDIDNTLOSEIT and the way in which his gelding was travelling at this stage, he elected to improve as the pace was being eased significantly.

RACE 6 – O’SULLIVAN ELECTRICAL PACE – 1770 metres

MISS TAPDANCE – Became unbalanced and galloped during the score up on the first occasion causing a false start or which the filly will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw. Became unbalanced and galloped leaving the 700 metres for which the filly was stood down until it completes one requalifying trial. Driver O Shea reported to steward following the event that the filly’s head check bit came out of its mouth passing the 700 metres.

IM NO STRANGER – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1300 metres.

TRUTHBETOLD – Checked leaving the 700 metres when avoiding the galloping MISS TAPDANCE.

BROBENAH GIRL – Raced roughly under pressure at various stages over the final 600 metres.

SOLVE THE CRIME – Hung out and galloped shortly after entering the first turn and again passing the 1000 metres for which the filly was stood down until it completes 1 requalifying trial. Improved three wide to race without over from the 800 metres.

GLENBURNS WATER – Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 7 – OSKAR MEMORIALS PACE – 1770 metres

TIGERMAC – Hampered and paced roughly passing the 100 metres when moving wider from MOVINTOHELLANDBACK which was being taken away from KOZACZYNSKI when avoiding the galloping ARTS FELLA.

MARYVILLE ALFIE – Shifted out under pressure passing the 100 metres and had its off side sulky wheel contacted by ARTS FELLA. Post-race swab sample.

ARTS FELLA – Pre-race blood sample. Hampered passing the 1450 metres when looking to obtain a trail from MARYVILLE ALFIE when MARYVILLE ALFIE hung up the track momentarily. Driver J Locke pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving in that passing the 100 metres he has allowed ARTS FELLA to shift wider and make contact with the off side sulky wheel of MARYVILLE ALFIE causing ARTS FELLA to be checked and galloped. Driver J Locke was fined $200. When considering penalty, Stewards considered Mr Locke’s overall driving record, guilty plea and circumstances of this incident when noting that MARYVILLE ALFIE had moved up the track marginally as he was looking to shift his runner wider and also the racing manners of ARTS FELLA at this stage of the event.

KAZACZYNSKI – Hampered passing the 100 metres when being eased wider from ARTS FELLA.

GLEMELLY BEACH – Over raced throughout the event before failing to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 82.1 metres and finished in last position. Driver M Day Jnr explained that he was disappointed in the mare’s performance and added connections will now reassess the racing future of the mare within the stable. In view of the performance of GLEMELLY BEACH, the mare was stood down until it completes one requalifying trial.

MOVINTOHELLANDBACK – Hampered passing the 100 metres when being taken away from KOZACZYNSKI which was moved up the track by the galloping ARTS FELLA.

 

RACE 8 – T WILSON RACING PACE – 2170 metres

MIRADOR LASS - Became unbalanced and galloped passing the 1950 metres for which a warning was issued.

DORRISTOPAYTHEBILL – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1800 metres.

BONNY MY BOY – Checked when avoiding the galloping MIRADOR LASS passing the 1950 metres.

WEONA SIR VIVOR – Checked passing the 1950 metres when avoiding the galloping MIRADOR LASS.

OUR GEORGE BOSTON – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1400 metres. Post-race swab sample.

MESSERATI – Checked when avoiding the galloping MIRADOR LASS passing the 1950 metres.
