RACE 1 – TAB.COM.AU PACE - 2040 METRES
TERRAGONG SWINGER - Post-race swab.
ULTIMATE COOKIE - Slow to begin from the mobile. Approaching the 1600 metres hung out and raced roughly. Hung in the on final turn when under pressure.
DUSTY MUSTER - The all clear was delayed to allow driver David McKenzie placed fourth by the judges to view the films in relation to the final 200 metres. After reviewing the films Mr McKenzie lodged a protest against the third placed runner being YARRAMAN KAYLOU alleging interference rounding the final turn after taking evidence from driver David McKenzie and also James Sutton driver of YARRAMAN KAYLOU. Stewards were of the view that although DUSTY MUSTER was placed into restricted room on the final turn and did contact marker pegs, couldn't be completely satisfied that had that not happened DUSTY MUSTER would of finished in front of YARRAMAN KAYLOU and as a result the protest was dismissed and the all clear was given on numbers 1, 4, 5 and 3.
RIP ROCK - Approaching the 1600 metres hung in.
YARRAMAN KAYLOU - Pre-race blood test. Three wide early before working forward to a position outside the leader at the 1800 metres. Driver James Sutton was issued a reprimand under rule 170(1)(a) in that, passing the 600 metres when activating ear plugs he allowed his left foot to drop below the line of the sulky stirrup. Rounding the final turn hung in slightly placing DUSTY MUSTER into restricted room. Withstood a protest lodged by DUSTY MUSTER and retained 3rd placing.
SEVEN TEE TWO - Three wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field passing the 1400 metres.
KARINYA HAZ - Galloped out and will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.
RACE 2 – BETTA PARKES PACE – 2040 METRES
JESSIE LEE - Driver Emma Turnbull was questioned in relation to the overall performance of the filly, Ms Turnbull indicated that JESSIE LEE had over raced when racing outside the leader in the early stages of the event before gaining cover however, gave ground over the concluding stages to be beat 50.8 metres. Ms Turnbull felt the filly having its first run at 2040 metres also contributed to the overall performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
TENEACHWAY - Three wide early before being restrained to the rear field at the 1600 metres. Had a tendency to over race throughout the event. Driver Blake Medlyn was issued a reprimand under rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving, in that approaching the 1600 metres when shifting down the track he has contacted the offside sulky wheel of WATCH ME RAIDER.
SWEET SWEET TOOTH - Driver Jett Turnbull was questioned in regards to the overall performance of the filly, Mr Turnbull stated that the filly was caught wide in the early stages of the event and had to work harder than anticipated to find the position outside the leader when approaching the 1400 metres, he felt that contributed to the overall performance. SWEET SWEET TOOTH was beaten 33.8 metres. Stewards noted the comments of Mr Turnbull.
WATCH ME RAIDER - Pre-race blood test. Approaching the 1600 metres had its offside sulky wheel contacted by TENEACHWAY.
LEXYS ON SONG - Post-race swab.
ULTIMATE EQUUS - Declared a late scratching at 6:55pm acting on veterinary advice, as it was reported the gelding was mildly lame in the off fore leg. Acting on veterinary advice ULTIMATE EQUUS was stood down pending a clear veterinary certificate and for a period of seven days.
RACE 3 – KENNARD HIRE PACE – 1660 METRES
CELEBRITY CRUISE - Passing the 600 metres was severely checked as a result of LENNOX BROMAC NZ breaking gait and fell dislodging driver Jake Davis from the sulky.
Mr Davis was examined and cleared by the paramedics to take the remainder of his drives. A post-race veterinary examination revealed CELEBRITY CRUISE to be sustaining mild lacerations to the front legs, acting on veterinary advice CELEBRITY CRUISE was stood down for a period of seven days.
ROCKNROLL UPTON - Three wide early before working forward to position outside the leader at the 1200 metres. Post-race swab.
LENNOX BROMAC NZ - Pre-race blood test. Caught wide early before working forward a position outside the leader at the 1400 metres. Passing the 600 metres became unbalance and broke gait for which a warning was issued.
AIR BORN – Passing the 600 metres was severely checked and Driver Blake Medlyn was momentarily unseated as a result of LENNOX BROMAC NZ breaking gait. Retired from the event..
JOHNNYS BLUE - Passing the 600 metres was severely checked and fell as a result of LENNOX BROMAC NZ breaking gait and driver Mark Hewitt was dislodged from the sulky. Mr Hewitt was transported to hospital with suspected injuries to his left shoulder region and as a result, Mr Hewitt was stood down pending a medical clearance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities on JOHNNYS BLUE.
BEYONDREASON - Approaching the or passing 600 metres was severely checked and fell as a result of LENNOX BROMAC NZ breaking gait dislodging driver Justin Reynolds from the sulky. Mr Reynolds was examined and cleared by the paramedics to take the remainder of his drives. A post-race veterinary examination revealed BEYONDREASON required stitching to a puncher wound around the near side rib region. Acting on veterinary advice BEYONDREASON was stood down pending a veterinary clearance and for a period of 10 days.
RACE 4 – TERRY BROTHERS CARPET COURT PACE – 1660 METRES
BARLOR HEAVEN - Pre-race blood test. Broke on numerous occasions and will now be required to perform one re-qualifying trial.
CANDI – Three wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field at the 1200 metres.
BURRABADIN BULLET - Three wide early before finding a position in the running line passing the 1400 metres.
HELLO I TEA - Worked forward to the lead passing the 1200 metres. Post-race swab.
TIME TO TORQUE - Commenced to improve three wide from the 900 metres before gaining the position outside the leader passing the 800 metres.
WESTERN BILL - Michael Day Jnr was approved as the late driver replacement for Mark Hewitt as he was injured in an earlier race fall.
RACE 5 – COACHMAN HOTEL PACE – 1660 METRES
CAMNAT - Post-race swab.
ROCK QUEEN - Michael Day Jnr was approved as the late driver replacement for Mark Hewitt as he was injured in an earlier race fall. Three wide early before working forward to a position outside the leader approaching the 1400 metres. Approaching the 300 metres had its near side sulky wheel contacted and flattened by CAPTAIN LLANFAIR.
SHEZ A WARRIOR - Pre-race blood test.
CAPTAIN LLANFAIR – Hung out in the score up. Approaching 300 metres was momentarily reluctant to move to the inside of ROCK QUEEN and contacted and flattened the near side tyre of that runner.
RACE 6 – DEAN HYDRAULICS PACE – 1660 METRES
KARINYA MAX - Post-race swab.
ERMINNIE QUINCE - Three wide early before working forward position outside the leader at the 1400 metres. Commenced to give ground at the 400 metres to be beaten 49.9 metres.
THE RINGMASTER - Commenced to improve three wide from the 800 metres.
ALPHA XENA - Michael Day Jnr was approved as the late driver replacement for Mark Hewitt as he was injured in an earlier race fall. Approaching 400 metres was tightened and contacted marker pegs as a result of ERMINNIE QUINCE hanging in.
NIKALONG MINT - Pre-race blood test. Hung in under pressure.
LADY ROCKABELLUM - At the request of connections was re included into the mobile barrier draw.
RACE 7 – LANGLANDS HANLON 3YO PACE – 1660 METRES
MARABELLE - Hung in on the final turn and contacted marker pegs.
YANNICK GEE - Pre-race blood test. An Inquiry was opened into the tactics adopted by driver Jett Turnbull, of particular concern to the stewards was his decision to move from a position outside the leader to a position behind the leader approaching the 500 metres, and as a result was ultimately held up over the concluding stages. After a body of evidence was taken from Mr Turnbull the inquiry was adjourned to a date to be fixed. Driver Jett Turnbull was issued a reprimand under rule 163(1)(a)(ii) for jostling, in that approaching the 150 metre mark he engaged in a jostle with CHASIN YOU and was unsuccessful.
CHASIN YOU - Was inconvenienced when being jostled by YANNICK GEE approaching the 150 metres.
TIGER TOOTH - Post-race swab.
KUNG FU MCCOOL – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 90.3 metres. In view of the overall performance of KUNG FU MCCOOL, the gelding was stood down until it can complete one re-qualifying trial. Post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
SOHO BETTY DEE - Broke shortly after the start for which a warning was issued.
SMOKEY BOW - Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 40.1 metres.
RACE 8 – GARRARDS HORSE N HOUND PACE – 1660 METRES
STELLA MAY - Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination, as the mare hadn't competed for in a race for in excess of 12 months, both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
SHES PERFECTION - Pre-race blood test. Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination, as the mare hadn't competed for in a race for in excess of 12 months, both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
TULHURST FRANKIE - Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination, as the mare hadn't competed for in a race for in excess of 12 months, both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
VINYGETSACHANCE - Three wide early before finding a position outside the leader at the 1200 metres.
OUR RED ATOM - Hung out and raced roughly on the first turn. Passing the 1400 metres was tightened and raced roughly as a result of JOHEMIAN shifting down the track.
JOHEMIAN - Inconvenienced on the first turn as a result of OUR RED ATOM hanging out and racing roughly. Driver Jane Morris was issued a reprimand under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that passing the 1400 metres she has permitted the gelding to shift down the track placing OUR RED ATOM into restricted room causing that runner to race roughly.
