LIMOUSINE TONY – Post race swab sample.

RACE 5 – WTC EARTHMOVING & SANTOS FINAL PACE – 2160 METRES

ANTETOKOUNMPO – When questioned in relation to the performance, Trainer / Driver Mr R Williams explained that he had intended to lead if possible and believed he would achieve this without undue pressure. he said that after the start he drove without full urgency and was unable to cross JUSTAWARRIOR, which was driven with vigour to lead. he stated that after this he was able to obtain a favourable covered position, however the gelding did not travel strongly and was unresponsive when placed under pressure passing the 500m. He said that if the recovery process was satisfactory the current racing preparation would be continued. Mr Williams reiterated his opinion that ANTETOKOUNMPO was best suited when able to lead at a comfortable tempo. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.

MY ROCK MOVES – Broke stride free of any external factors rounding the turn passing the winning post on the first occasion. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.

KATASTROPHEE – Pre race swab sample. Pulled hard during the early and middle stages. When questioned in relation to the performance C McElinney explained, that although she drove the mare in accordance with its established racing pattern, it continually contacted its own sulky, over raced and refused to settle. She said that this was the reason that when she attempted to go forward inside the 500m it was unresponsive and weakened. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.

RACE 7 – DASIY WATER CARRIER & SHOP 2390 NARRABRI CUP PACE – 2560 METRES

ESCALERA – Post race swab sample.

MASTER CATCH – Pre race swab sample. Prior to the all clear declaration, the driver A Varga was interviewed relative to his starting position. Mr Varga stated that in the later stages of the score up he noticed that STEALTH BOMBER which was drawn forward of him was unbalanced and he thought that it would break stride. He said for this reason he attempted to shift wider to avoid being hampered but had intended for that shift to be momentarily after the start. It was determined that when the start was effected MASTER CATCH had been shifted to the outside of STEALTH BOMBER and had begun from an incorrect position. It was further determined that despite this, MASTER CATCH did not gain advantage and therefore all clear was declared. Subsequently A Varga was fined $100 under (AR162(1)(g)), as his actions led to his drive beginning from the incorrect starting position.
