RACE 1 – HRNSW GUARANTEED LADYSHIP PACE – 1720 METRES

BLISSES BEST - Pre-race blood sample. Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1400 metres and improving forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres.

ELLEZIE - Raced three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1200 metres. Post-race swab sample.

PLAYFUL MISS -  Unable to secure clear running rounding the final turn when being taken back behind the weakening BELLRIVERGIRL and as a result locked wheels momentarily with COLLATERAL BEAUTY NZ.

WEAREALLALONE - Improved three wide from the 1350 metres until obtaining the position outside of the leader passing the 1050 metres.

HARLEEQUIN - Declared a late scratching by order of stewards at 12:31pm.

COLLATERAL BEAUTY NZ - Locked wheels passing the 200 metres momentarily with PLAYFUL MISS when that runner was being checkedand taken back behind the weakening BELLRIVERGIRL.

 

RACE 2 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1720 METRES

FLO RYDA NZ - Caught racing three wide in the early stages until being restrained at the tail of the field at the 1250 metres.

GOODTIME BRAVO - Pre-race blood sample. Raced three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1400 metres.

WHEREISHE - Caught racing three wide in the early stages until being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1400 metres.

MIZZZ ADELE - Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

OLIVIA SHANNON - Became unbalanced and galloped passing the 600 metres for which a warning was issued.

BETTER HARLEY - Hampered passing the 600 metres when avoiding the galloping OLIVIA SHANNON.

HEAVENLY REASON - Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 3 – FAMILY RACE DAY @PENRITH PACEWAY JUNE 9 PACE – 1720 METRES

EPIC ERNIE - Withstood a protest lodged by the second place getter EYE CAN TRY. Driver B McDonough was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for contributing to interference in that approaching the 200 metres he has allowed EPIC ERNIE to shift up the track and as a result raced inside the line of EYE CAN TRY causing that runner to be steadied and taken wider. In not taking more severe action stewards were mindful that prior to this, EPIC ERNIE had suffered a gear malfunction when the bit had slipped in the horses mouth resulting in driver B McDonough only having limiting control at this stage. Post-race swab sample.

SWEDISH MEATBALLS - Became unbalanced and galloped approaching the 600 metres for which a warning was issued. It was reported following the event that the number one carrying strap on the near side had broken whilst the horse was in a gallop. Post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

OBADIAH DRAGON NZ - Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside the leader passing the 1400 metres and improving forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres.

EYE CAN TRY - Prior to the declaration of all clear stewards considered an objection lodged by driver J Gallagher in relation to an incident approaching the 200 metres in that when improving to the outside of EPIC ERNIE Mr Gallagher was taken wider when EPIC ERNIE was shifted up the track and raced inside his line rounding the turn. After considering the available replays and also the evidence of driver B McDonough and J Gallagher stewards were not comfortably satisfied that if this interference had not occurred that EYE CAN TRY would have finished forward of EPIC ERNIE the protest was dismissed and the all clear was given on the judges numbers of 1, 4, 5 and 8.

ANGUS FINN NZ - Pre-race blood sample.

TAKE THE DEAL NZ - Trainer K Morris was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) in that she failed to lodge a gear form for the gelding. Driver R Morris pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 231(2) for misconduct in that following the event driver R Morris has improved his position towards EPIC ERNIE and initiated a verbal altercation with driver B McDonough. Driver R Morris was fined $300. In assessing penalty stewards considered driver R Morris's admission, record in relation to the rule and circumstances of the circumstances of this incident.

 

RACE 4 – FISHO’S RAFFLES FRI NIGHTS @ CLUB PACEWAY PACE – 2125 METRES

CYCLONE BELLA NZ - Worked forward to obtain the lead leaving the 1600 metres. Stewards questioned driver C Hart in relation to the seemingly disappointing performance of the mare when failing to run on over the final 350 metres to be beaten 26.2 metres and finished in last position. Mr Hart explained that he was slightly disappointed in the overall performance of the mare however, noting the run afforded when being challenged by GREY CADILLAC during the middle stages of the event he felt that this would explain the performance of the mare over the concluding stages.

GREY CADILLAC - Over raced throughout the middle stages of the event.

POLKA DELIGHT - Improved to the lead passing the 1950 metres.

RACE 5 – INFAMOUS CIRCUS @ PENRITH SHOWGROUND TIL JUNE 21 PACE – 1720 METRES

MADAZALWAYS - Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion, was not fully tested.

SHADES OF HEAVEN - Trainer K Morris was fined $50 under Rule 210 for failing to declare R Morris as the driver by the prescribed time.

MERRYWOOD TONY - Raced three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1250 metres.

MR TEDDY NZ - Raced forward four and three wide during the early and middle stages until obtaining the position outside of the leader leaving the 1000 metres.

PRINCE OF PEACE - Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion, was not fully tested.

RACE 6 – BEATS, BREWS & BBQ @ CLUB PACEWAY JUNE 27 & 28 PACE – 1720 METRES

DECIPHER - Became unbalanced and galloped shortly after the start for which warning was issued.

PEACE OF HEAVEN NZ - Shifted out under pressure in the home straight on final occasion.

BETTINE - Post-race swap sample.

KATES VIRTUE - Raced three wide in the early stages until obtaining the position outside of the leader leaving the 1200 metres.

PETES ONA MISSION - Checked after the start when avoiding the galloping DECIPHER.

LARRIKIN LENNY - Pre-race blood sample.

CHOOCHOO TRAIN - Pre-race blood sample.

 

 

RACE 7 – STARZ GAMESHOW SAT’S FROM 7:30PM @ CLUB PACEWAY PACE – 2125 METRES

EE JAY WHY - Race roughly under pressure when leaving the 400 metres.

JUS BLING IT - Work forward to obtain the lead passing the 1900 metres. Post-race swab.

TRISTAR FOR CHRIS - Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1800 metres.

SUNSHINE KARAMEA - Pre-race blood sample. Caught racing three wide in the early stages until being restrained at the tail of the field passing the 1800 metres.

KINGSTON RAINBOW - Raced roughly leaving the 600 metres for a short distance.

 

RACE 8 – PENRITH MAZDA PACE – 2125 PACE

LOOKIN GOOD MARGIE - Post-race swab sample.

HUNGER STRIKE - Hung out under pressure in the home straight on the final occasion despite the efforts of driver D Murphy for which warning was issued.

BART MAGUIRE NZ - Stewards questioned trainer/driver S Grima in relation to the seemingly disappointing performance of the gelding when failing to run on over the final 400 metres to be beaten 46.1 metres and finished in 10th position. Mr Grima explained that he was disappointed in the performance of the gelding considering its most recent runs. In view of the geldings disappointing performance BART MAGUIRE NZ was stood down until it completes one re-qualifying trial. Post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

DASHING CHEDDAR - Caught racing three wide in the early stages until being restrained to obtain a position in the running line passing the 1900 metres.

A VAPAR STORM - Pre-race blood sample. Driver B Portelli was issued a reprimand under Rule 162(1)(www)(ii) for hindering another runner in that in the home straight on the final occasion he has allowed A VAPAR STORM to shift up the track whilst having LANI KAI BEACH improving to his outside and over the concluding stages also had MUFASA BART improving to that runners outside and as a result both runners were hindered when being taken wider.

MUFASA BART - Caught racing three wide in the early stages until being restrained at the tail of the field past in the 1900 metres. Hindered over the concluding stages of the event when being taken wider by LANI KAI BEACH which was taken up the track by A VAPAR STORM.

NOTHINGBUTWAVES - Driver L Painting was advised to make further modification to the way in which he applied the whip to the mare in the home straight on the final occasion.

DILETTO - Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight. Driver V Duncan was advised to exercise more care in that approaching the 400 metres he has improved towards the back of the weakening BART MAGUIRE NZ and as a result contacted that runners sulky and was checked and paced roughly for a short distance. In not taking the matter any further stewards were mindful that BART MAGUIRE NZ had been weakening significantly at this stage and also Mr Duncan’s inexperience.

LANI KAI BEACH - Pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding being 12 years of age and having competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination. Hindered over the concluding stages when being taken wider by A VAPAR STORM when that runner shifted up the track to its inside.

BETTOR BE LUCKY - Pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.

 

 

RACE 9 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 2125 METRES

ROCKET RALPH - Work forward to obtain the lead passing the 1800 metres.

GO TESS GO - Pre-race blood sample.

EBBONY STORM - Hung out and became unbalanced and galloped approaching the 750 metres for which the filly was stood down until it completes one re-qualifying trial.

LOUMIA - Galloped out at the start which warning was issued.

MARY ANN ROSE - Post-race swab sample.
