RACE 1 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1720 metres
DECIPHER – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
ROCK ASSET – Hung out under pressure.
VESPA STRIDE – Passing the 1600 metres and was checked and broke when locking wheels with SUNSHINE KARAMEA.
SUNSHINE KARAMEA – Passing the 1600 metres hung in and locked wheels with VESPA STRIDE and as a result was checked and broke. In view of the gelding’s recent record SUNSHINE KARAMEA was placed on its last chance to race truly.
RACE 2 – CRYSTALS CREATIVES & MYSTICS FAIR JUNE 14 & 15 PACE – 1720 metres
CLASSICMAJOR – Rounding the final turn hung in, contacted marker pegs and raced roughly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
THE MALDIVES – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Hung out after the start. Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
BETTING STAR – Driver Lleyton Green raised his hand in the early part of the score up indicating a gear malfunction. It was revealed BETTING STAR had shaken its head and the lugging pole had come undone and as a result no action was taken. Driver Lleyton Green was questioned in regards to the seemingly improved performance of BETTING STAR. Mr Green stated the horse had drawn more favourably and was able to find the front which was beneficial. Post-race swab sample.
THE BEST OF YOU – Approaching the 1600 metres was tightened and locked wheels with A VAPAR STORM and was checked.
DESIDERIO – Trainer Troy Williams was fined $50 under Rule 210 for failing to declare Declan Murphy as the driver by the prescribed time.
A VAPAR STORM – Pre-race blood sample. Approaching the 1600 metres was tightened and locked wheels with THE BEST OF YOU and was checked and broke, when THE MALDIVES hung out slightly placing A VAPAR STORM into restricted room between THE MALDIVES and THE BEST OF YOU. Commenced to improve three wide from the 1300 metres before finding a position outside the leader at the 1100 metres. Hung out at various stages of the event.
RACE 3 – INFAMOUS CIRCUS @ PENRITH SHOWGROUND TIL JUNE 21 PACE – 1720 metres
PUPPETEER – Slow to begin from the mobile.
MY GREAT EIGHT – Caught three wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field at the 1400 metres.
BLISSES BEST – Pre-race blood sample.
GOTTADOBETTOR – Post-race swab sample.
SQUADRON – Commenced to improve three wide at the 1350 metres before finding the position outside the leader at the 1200 metres.
RACE 4 – MAJOR OAK TICKETS ON SALE NOW PACE – 1720 metres
OKAY GRINGO – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to the lead passing the 1500 metres. Post-race swab sample.
ED MENDES – Inconvenienced approaching the 1150 metres when the pace of the event eased.
FREEDOM ART – Caught wide early before working forward to the position the leader at the 1350 metres.
LOOKIN GOOD MARGIE – Inconvenienced passing the 1150 metres as a result of the pace of the event easing.
NITRO DANNY – Pre-race blood sample. Inconvenienced passing the 1150 metres as a result of the pace of the event easing. Held up for clear running and was not fully tested.
DASHING CHEDDAR – Approaching the 1150 metres was checked and broke as a result of the pace of the event easing.
KINGSTON RAINBOW – Inconvenienced passing the 1150 metres as a result of the pace easing and from that point on was forced to race in a three wide position.
RACE 5 – PENRITH MAZDA PACE – 2125 metres
RIPSTONE SNORTER – Inconvenienced passing the 200 metres as a result of CYCLONE BELLA NZ breaking gait.
WELL SAID NUGGET – Pre-race blood sample.
CYCLONE BELLA NZ – Approaching the 250 metres hung in and broke gait. In view of the mare’s recent record CYCLONE BELLA NZ will be required to perform one requalifying trial.
FLO RYDA NZ – Post-race swab sample.
EPIC ERNIE – Had a tendency to over race throughout the event. Inconvenienced passing the 200 metres as a result of CYCLONE BELLA NZ breaking gait.
STELLINA - Inconvenienced passing the 200 metres as a result of CYCLONE BELLA NZ breaking gait.
GREY CADILLAC – Commenced to improve three wide at the 2000 metres before finding the position outside the leader at the 1800 metres.
RACE 6 – BEATS, BREWS & BBQ @ CLUB PACEWAY JUNE 27 & 28 PACE – 1720 metres
OBADIAH DRAGON NZ – Driver Seaton Grima was questioned in relation to the overall performance of the gelding having been able to lead the event in a moderate 60.4 first half, and failed to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 13.1 metres. Mr Grima felt the performance was disappointing but could offer no further explanation.
BOLERO – Pre-race blood sample. Raced roughly rounding the final turn when under pressure for which a warning was issued.
IMA QUEEN BEE – Post-race swab sample.
MERRYWOOD TONY – Inconvenienced approaching the 250 metres when being held up behind BOLERO and CONSTANTINA.
RACE 7 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1720 metres
KASBAH – Pre-race blood sample. Held up for clear running and was not fully tested.
LARRIKIN LENNY – Pre-race blood sample. Trainer Troy Williams was fined $50 under Rule 210 for failing to declare Jim Douglass as the driver of the gelding by the prescribed time.
THERES WALLY – Three wide early before working forward to the lead at the 1200 metres.
WHEREISHE – Driver Brian Portelli was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that passing the 200 metres he has allowed the gelding to shift down the track when not sufficiently clear of RIO DE JANEIRO BLUE NZ causing that runner to be checked and race roughly. Post-race swab sample.
RADIANT AMBER - A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the mare having competed in excess of 200 race starts. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.
RIO DE JANEIRO BLUE NZ – Passing the 200 metres was checked and raced roughly as a result of WHEREISHE shifting down the track.
RACE 8 – THE MANAGEMENT EDGE PACE – 2125 metres
POLKA DELIGHT NZ – Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 41.4 metres.
MR TEDDY NZ – Approaching the 150 metres locked wheels with LUKE JOHN NZ as a result of minimal movement from both runners.
DONTLETFERSTOPYA NZ – Worked forward to the lead approaching the 1600 metres.
LUKE JOHN NZ – Trainer/Driver Seaton Grima was questioned in relation to the overall performance of the gelding. After being caught three wide early and work forward to a position outside the leader at the 1700 metres before locking wheels with MR TEDDY NZ and being checked passing the 100 metres due to minimal movement from both runners. Mr Grima stated he was not disappointed with the overall performance of the gelding after LUKE JOHN NZ had to work harder than anticipated to find the position outside the leader and the last 3 quarters were run in fast sectionals of 28.7, 28.6 and 28.4. Stewards noted the comments of Mr Grima.

DANGEROUS THREATS – Held up in the early stages of the home straight before hanging out under pressure when reluctant to take a run to the inside of DONTLETFEARSTOPYA NZ.
