RACE 1 – WRS – SUPPORTING HARNESS RACING PACE – 1609 metres

HOUSTON STREET – Pre-race blood sample. Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

MAMMALS RIDDLE – Post-race swab sample.

LONGWINDINGROAD – Held up for clear running over the final stages and not fully tested.

CHEDDAR VALLEY NZ - Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

 

RACE 2 – BARASTOC PACE – 1609 metres

ARMA SPORTSGIRL – Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten a considerable distance. Connections were advised it would be stood down until it can requalify on one occasion.

ULTIMATE CRUZA – Post-race swab sample.

MISS OUT – Checked racing down the back straight on the final occasion when trailing ARMA SPORTSGIRL which had commenced to give ground.

IRE OF THE DRAGON – Severely checked and as a result Driver R Atkins was dislodged. A post-race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormalities.

OHWHATIWOULDGIVE – Severely checked and fell shortly after entering the home straight for the run to the finish. A post-race veterinary examination revealed it to have superficial abrasions to the offside hip. Acting on veterinary recommendations and after receiving treatment, it was stood down for 10 days.

POPS JOY – Pre-race blood sample. Stewards inquired into the reasons for IRE OF THE DRAGON dislodging its driver R Atkins and OHWHATIWOULDGIVE( C Formosa) Falling. After taking evidence from all relevant parties, Stewards noted POPS JOY had a tendency to hang in when negotiating the final turn and prior to entering the home straight when corrected by its Driver R Morris wider on the track, broke stride and shortly thereafter shifted up the track locking wheels with OHWHATIWOULDGIVE and in turn IRE OF THE DRAGON where as a result OHWHTIWOULDGIVE fell in addition to IRE OF THE DRAGON dislodging R Atkins. A post-race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormalities. Connections were advised that given the consequential effect it would be stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial.

CONNOR MCGREGOR NZ – Checked shortly after entering the home straight for the run to the finish.

BETTOR CHEER NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

RACE 3 – SOMERSET MEATS PACE – 2030 metres

NEVER KNOW CHARLIE – Pre-race blood sample.

FLARE UP – Post-race swab sample.

CUT GLASS NZ – Fractious in the early stages of the score up, refusing to come up and as a result was out of position as the start was effected. Connections were advised it will now be placed right outside the mobile barrier draw in addition to the completion of two satisfactory trials and a stand down from racing for a period of 14 days.

 

RACE 4 – GLOBAL BRANDS LIQUOR PACE – 1609 metres

PORT AU PRINCE NZ – Post-race swab sample.

VAN BASTEN – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 5 – TOOHEYS PACE – 1609 metres

OUR SPECIAL MEMORY – Post-race swab sample.

BEANCOUNTER – Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.

ELOUSIA DALE NZ – Out of position as the start was effected. Driver B Hughes was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(h) for failing to come up into position prior to the start being effected. Hampered racing down the back straight on the final occasion.

ABSTRACT ART – Hampered and raced roughly for a short distance racing down the back straight on the final occasion.

JOHN MCLEAN NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Hampered racing down the back straight on the final occasion. Was claimed. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 6 – GARRARDS HORSE AND HOUND PACE – 2030 metres

LUCKY RICTOR – Checked racing down the back straight on the final occasion when trailing MISS ALOHA which had commenced to give ground.

GOODTIME MIKI – Checked and raced roughly on the first turn.

ONETANGI GIRL NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

MISS ALOHA – Had a tendency to race roughly as the field negotiated the first turn and commenced to over raced resulting in it tiring over the concluding stages to be beaten a considerable distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed it to have a laceration to the near side fore leg. Connections were advised it would be stood down to one requalifying trial.

CAPTAIN GROOVE – Driver B Elder was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when entering the first turn he closed down the track and placed GOODTIME MIKI in restricted room. In not taking more severe action Stewards were mindful that prior B Elder crossing, GOODTIME MIKI had commenced to race roughly.

 

RACE 7 – AVE TECHNOLOGIES PACE – 2030 metres

CHLOBRO – Pre-race blood sample. Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.

TOUGH TALKS – Tightened inside the final 100 metres when racing to the inside of MY LADY SARAH which shifted in slightly in addition to BRING YOUR BEST shifting out slightly.

BRING YOUR BEST – Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.

OZZIE CORKA – Post-race swab sample. 

 

 

RACE 8 – THE TAB APP PACE – 2030 metres

WALLAROY BOY – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported. Driver D Murphy was cautioned in relation to the manner in which he applied the whip over the concluding stages.

CAPTAIN DORIAN – Post-race swab sample.

GROSESTAR – Pre-race blood sample.

SHADOW ECLIPSE - Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.
