RACE 1 – PITCHER PARTNERS PACE – 1609 metres
HUNGER STRIKE – Trainer Rickie Alchin was fined $50 under Rule 210 for failing to notify Ashleigh Delosa as the driver by the prescribed time.
PARTY CENTRAL NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
RACE 2 – BARASTOC PACE – 2030 metres
MAMMALS RIDDLE – Pre-race blood sample. Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
SHEZA REBEL – Post-race swab sample.
FIRST STRING – Pre-race blood sample. Trainer Melanie Elder was fined $50 under Rule 273(5)(b) for presenting the gelding to race in incorrect gear.
ABSTRACT ART – Held up for clear running in the home straight and not fully tested.
HEZA PLAYER NZ – Over raced in the early stages of the event. Commenced to improve three wide from the 1200 metres before working forward to the position outside the leader at the 950 metres.
CONOR MCGREGOR NZ – Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
YESNOMAYBESO – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
RACE 3 – GLOBAL BRANDS LIQUOR PACE – 1609 metres
ROCKTAGONAL – Approaching the 1400 metres was tightened and raced roughly as a result of SKY CITY NZ shifting down the track.
HALSEY NICOLE – Broke gait approaching the 250 metres. In view of the mares recent record, HALSEY NICOLE will be required to perform two requalifying trials and will be stood down for a period of 14 days. Driver Joe Taaffe plead guilty to a charge under Rule 156(3) for using his whip in an unapproved manner, in that approaching the 150 metres when HALSEY NICOLE was in a gallop out of contention in the event Mr Taaffe has applied the whip forcefully to the mare. Driver Joe Taaffe was fined the sum of $500. In assessing penalty, Stewards considered Mr Taaffe’s plea, record in relation to the rule and the circumstances of this incident. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
SKY CITY NZ - Three wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader at the 1300 metres. Driver Zara Fitzpatrick was issued a reprimand under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that passing the 1400 metres she has allowed the gelding to shift down the track placing ROCKTAGONAL NZ into restricted room and causing it to race roughly. Ms Fitzpatrick was also reminded of her obligations to arrive 30 minutes before her engagement.
OUR IDEAL DREAM NZ – Out of position at the start despite the efforts of Driver Molly Ison for which a warning was issued.
DANCE WITH CARMER – Pre-race blood sample. Driver Joshua Gallagher was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(h) for failing to bring the colt into position before the starting point.
FLARE UP – Post-race swab sample.
RACE 4 – PRD FOOD SERVICES PACE – 2030 metres
CHICAGO BART – Pre-race blood sample. Broke in the score up for which a warning was issued.
VINCETIUS MAXIMUS – Post-race swab sample.
CLASSY DANCER NZ – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the mare not having raced for in excess of 12 months. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
LITTLE DEMON – Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 31.4 metres.
RACE 5 – MUSGRAVE FAMILY PACE – 1609 metres
ONE FOR THE RODI – Tightened and contacted marker pegs when improving into a developing run rounding the final turn. Held up for clear running and was not fully tested.
FORCE FULL – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
VAN BASTEN – Driver Ashleigh Delosa was issued a reprimand under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that upon entry to the home straight when being held up she has permitted the gelding to shift down the track placing ONE FOR THE RODI into restricted room and contacted marker pegs.
PITCH PERFECT – Post-race swab sample.
WHISKEY CAVALIER NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. In view of the gelding’s recent record WHISKEY CAVALIER will be excluded from the mobile barrier draw. Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 60.5 metres for which a warning was issued. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
RACE 6 – AVE TECHNOLOGIES PACE – 1609 metres
GOODTIME BRAVO – Post-race swab sample.
STEALTH BOMBA NZ – Three wide early before being checked and broke gait passing the 1100 metres as a result of WILLS WAY being retired from the event and was then restrained to the rear of the field passing the 1100 metres. Failed to improve into the race to be beaten 54 metres for which a warning was issued. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
WILLS WAY – Pre-race blood sample. Driver Jemma Coney pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving, in that passing the 1300 metres shifted down the track when not sufficiently clear of MISTER CHEESE resulting in MISTER CHEESE contacting and flattening the near side sulky tyre of WILLS WAY and as a result WILLS WAY was retired from the event approaching the 1100 metres. Driver Jemma Coney had her licence to drive in races suspended for a period of 7 days to commence midnight 20 June 2025. In assessing penalty, Stewards considered Ms Coney’s plea, record in relation to the rule and the circumstances of this incident.
KISSMELVIS – Driver Blake Hughes was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(h) for failing to have the gelding come up into position the start point. Held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.
RACE 7 – HRNSW GUARANTEED LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres
LUCY STYLES – Checked passing the 1400 metres as a result of OAKLEY SHARD NZ breaking gait.
OAKLEY SHARD NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Hung out in the score up for which a warning was issued. Passing the 1400 metres became unbalanced and broke gait for which a warning was issued. Raced roughly throughout the event.
RILEY ROCKET – Inconvenienced passing the 1400 metres as a result of OAKLEY SHARD NZ breaking gait.
MY LADY SARAH – Driver Shannon Lindsay was fined $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) for applying the whip in more than a wrist only flicking motion in the early stages of the home straight.
WATSLUVGOTTADO – Inconvenienced passing the 1400 metres as a result of OAKLEY SHARD NZ breaking gait.
IM A LIBERTY GIRL - Inconvenienced passing the 1400 metres as a result of OAKLEY SHARD NZ breaking gait.
LULLABY NZ – Caught wide early before working forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres. Post-race swab sample.
RACE 8 – SHARP OFFICE PACE – 2030 metres
TWO TICKS NZ– Post-race swab sample.
FIESTY TIGER – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 108.1 metres. In view of the performance of the filly, FIESTY TIGER will now be required to perform one requalifying trial. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
ONETANGI GIRL NZ – Checked as a result of MILLI ME commencing to tire.
CAPTIAN GROOVE – Declared a late scratching at 6.37pm acting on veterinary advice and was stood down for 10 days and a clear vet certificate.
MYSTICAL SUNSHINE – Caught three wide before being restrained to the rear of the field at the 1600 metres.
MILLI ME – Pre-race blood sample. Three wide early before working forward to the lead passing the 1400 metres. Approaching the 600 metres the filly commenced to give ground and tired from the event to be beaten in excess of 200 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly be suffering atrial fibrillation. Acting on veterinary advice MILLI ME was stood down for a period of 14 days, an ECG a clear veterinary certificate and one requalifying trial.
RACE 9 – THE TAB APP MAIDEN PACE – 2030 metres
MAJOR POPPI – Rounding the final turn hung in and contacted marker pegs.
PROLETAIRE – Pre-race blood sample. A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the mare not having raced for in excess of 12 months. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Approaching the 1100 metres was checked as a result of FRANCOS DELIGHT breaking gait.
MAKE MINE IDEAL – Post-race swab sample.
LORD JAYDO – Commenced to improve three wide from the 1300 metres before finding the position outside the leader at the 1100 metres.
FRANCOS DELIGHT – Out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver Blake Hughes and will be continued out of the draw in mobile start events. Approaching the 1100 metres broke for which a warning was issued.
POLISH PRINCE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination at the request Trainer John Radley and was passed fit.
