RACE 2 – TAMWORTH TREATED TIMBERS – HORSE BREEDING PACE – 1609 metres

REASONABLY SWEET – Post-race sample.

SEE THE DREAM – Driver K Hepworth was cautioned for failing to score up in the correct barrier position. In not taking the matter further the panel was mindful that neither SEE THE DREAM or any runner had their chances effected. Driver K Hepworth explained that runners drawn to her immediate inside showed superior gate speed and as a result her drive was caught racing wide on the track. Miss Hepworth added that she anticipated a position in the two wide line to be available, however MY ULTIMATE HUGO fulfilled that position racing around the first turn. Miss Hepworth then elected to progress her drive forward three wide as SEE THE DREAM tended to over-race and resent restraint. Leaving the 1000m when racing three wide SEE THE DREAM became under pressure and had to be driven along to improve. Once gaining a position in the two wide line at the 800m outside of the leader WHENS LUNCH, that runner became under pressure and Miss Hepworth’s drive again began to over-race and as a result she elected to allow her drive to improve to the lead due to the racing manners of her own drive and WHENS LUNCH commencing to give ground. In the circumstances of the racing manners of SEE THE DREAM and the explanation tendered by Miss Hepworth, Stewards recorded the explanation given.
