RACE 1 – WRS – SUPPORTING HARNESS RACING PACE – 1609 metres

KISSMELVIS – Post-race swab sample.

IDEAL MONDO – Pre-race blood sample.

SHADOW ECLIPSE – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported. Broke stride during the middle stages of the score up and was out of position as the start was effected. A warning was issued.

NIFTY STUDLEIGH - Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.

 

RACE 2 – HRNSW GUARANTEED LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres

LETSGO MATILDA - Pre-race blood sample.

MY LADY SARAH – Post-race swab sample.

OAKLEY SHARD NZ – Momentarily locked wheels with OUR FIRE AND DELIGHT NZ as the field negotiated the first turn and as a result of being forced wider on the track with WATSLUGOTTADO shifting wider.

PROLETAIRE – Examined post-race with no abnormalities reported. Broke stride shortly after the start was effected. Connections were advised given its record it would now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw. Again broke stride as the field negotiated the final turn. After assessing its overall record Stewards advised connections it would be stood down until it can complete one requalifying trial.

WATSLUVGOTTADO – Driver B Pringle was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that prior to straightening for the run to the finish he permitted his runner to shift wider which in turn forced OAKLEY SHARD NZ wider on the track and as a result locked wheels with OUR FIRE AND DELIGHT NZ which was progressing forward wide on the track at that stage.

OUR FIRE AND DELIGHT NZ – Hampered after locking wheels with OAKLEY SHARD NZ shortly after entering the home straight and in the run to the finish.

 

RACE 3 – BRAD ELDER RACING PACE – 2030 metres

MAMMALS RIDDLE – Post-race swab sample.

PAYTONS ROCK NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

YESNOMAYBESO - Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.

 

 

RACE 4 – TOOHEYS PACE – 1609 metres

MAURLEN BOY – Pre-race blood sample.

LUKE JOHN NZ – Stewards questioned Driver V Duncan in relation to the tactics adopted during the early and middle stages of the event. Driver V Duncan explained to Stewards that his instructions were to lead the event and run along at a genuine tempo. He further added that after being caught racing outside the leader in the early stages of the event had a tendency to over race racing down the home straight on the first occasion which placed him in advance of the horse in the lead position being MAURLEN BOY. He further added given the run afforded was not overly disappointed in the performance and finished off the event fairly. Stewards noted his comments and advised greater control of his runner was needed as the field raced down the home straight on the first occasion and to ensure a tempo that would not leave him open to question moving forward.

PARADISE POINT – Had a tendency to hang in whilst under pressure inside the final 100 metres. Post-race swab sample.

SWEET HAYLEY JANE – Broke stride shortly after the start was effected. A warning was issued. Again broke stride as the field negotiated the first turn. Connections were advised would be placed on its last chance to race truly.

 

RACE 5 – SHARP OFFICE PACE – 2030 metres

MISTER MANAGER – Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.

MR TEDDY NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

LACEYS LAD NZ – Post-race swab sample.

HEAVENLY HOLLY – When questioned regarding the performance, Driver M Formosa explained that its best runs have been over the shorter distance and when able to find early rhythm in the race. He further added that the lead time in the event was quite quick and in turn the first half of the event was left chasing for a considerable distance. When presented for a run leaving the back straight and rounding the final turn was somewhat one paced and finished off the event fairly. Stewards noted his comments. A post-race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormality.

 

RACE 6 – GARRARD HORSE AND HOUND PACE – 1609 metres

ABSTRCT ART – Post-race swab sample.

ARNIES ARMY NZ – Driver J Gallagher was fined $100 under Rule 170(1)(a) for allowing his foot to drop below the foot rest inside the final 100 metres.

ABDICATE NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 7 – PITCHER PARTNERS PACE – 1609 metres

MAJOR DOODLE – Had a tendency to hang out whilst under pressure over the concluding stages.

GRUMPYSHANNON – Pre-race blood sample.

WAT EVER YOU NEED – Post-race swab sample.

DUAL CAM – Broke stride in the latter stages of the score up. A warning was issued.

 

RACE 8 – SOMERSET MEATS PACE – 1609 metres

LORD JAYDO – Pre-race blood sample.

DEPASSANT – Had a tendency to hang in whilst under pressure over the concluding stages. Cast its near side hind plate during the event. Driver G McElhinney was cautioned in relation to the manner in which he applied the whip over the concluding stages.

OUR ULTIMATE MAY NZ – Driver B Pringle was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when leaving the back straight he permitted his runner to shift down the track and restricted the racing room of TIGER ATTACK (Z Fitzpatrick) as the field negotiated the final turn was momentarily tightened for racing room and contacted marker pegs.

SLICK AND SUAVE – Driver Z Carroll was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when negotiating the final turn whilst under driving allowed his runner to shift down the track and restrict the racing room of OUR ULTIMATE MAY NZ and as a result that runner contacted marker pegs.

TREACHEROUS SLOY – Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten a considerable distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed it to be displaying signs of tying up. Under veterinary recommendation was stood down for a period of 7 days. In addition, Stewards also advised connections it would be stood down to one requalifying trial.

FRANCOS DELIGHT – Post-race swab sample.

TIGER ATTACK – Tightened for racing room leaving the back straight on the final occasion.

 

RACE 9 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1609 metres

GIDUP CAPTAIN – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

BODYLINE – Post-race swab sample.

WALLAROY BOY - Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.

ROCKINDOWNUNDER – Pre-race blood sample. Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.
