RACE 1 – STUART VALENTINE FOR BLOODSTOCK INSURANCE 3YO PACE – 1730 metres
EVELYNS DRAGON – Upon entry to the home straight hung in and raced roughly.
ELITE GEORGE – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1400 metres.
MAMMALS BLAZE – Three wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader at the 1200 metres. Driver Mitch Turnbull was fined $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) for applying the whip in more than a wrist only flicking motion over the concluding stages. post-race swab sample.
THE SAMURAI – Pre-race blood sample.
HELENS BOY – Out of position at the start for which a warning was issued.
MAMMALS REASON – Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 2 – BARKERS BUTCHERY MEAT TRAY RAFFLE ON TONIGHT PACE – 1730 metres
QUEENHIGH FLUSH NZ – Broke after the start and will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.
WINDY HILL LUCY – Hung out during the score up.
BELLAGANOOSH – Approaching the 1300 metres became unbalanced and broke gait free of interference. The mare will now be required to perform one requalifying trial.
STAY FOOLISH – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres.
MYSTERIOUS BEACH – Inconvenienced approaching the 1300 metres as a result of BELLAGANOOSH breaking gait.
ALWAYS A SAM – Pre-race blood sample. Galloped out and will be continued right out of the draw in mobile barrier starts. Commenced to improve three wide from the 900 metres before giving ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 36.5 metres.
SMOOTH EURO – Checked after the start as a result of QUEENHIGH FLUSH NZ breaking gait. Raced roughly under pressure for which a warning was issued. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off side hindleg and acting on veterinary advice will be stood down pending a clear veterinary certificate.
A TRUE LOVE – Post-race swab sample.
RACE 3 – BCIT SOLUTIONS – YOUR IT EXPERTS PACE – 2260 metres
UNCLE TONY – Pre-race blood sample.
THE HANDSOME ONE - Three wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field at the 1700 metres.
ROCK THE NATION NZ – Shifted out when under pressure.
TULHURST TIMMY – Driver Angela Hurst was questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance of TULHURST TIMMY. Mrs Hurst explained the gelding received the perfect run tonight and the race was run to suit the gelding. Post-race swab sample.
DIAMOND BIKINI – At the request of connections was reincluded into the mobile barrier draw. Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 52.5 metres for which a warning was issued.
CHELSEAS GIRL – Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
RACE 4 – BATHURST TOYOTA PACE – 1730 metres
LEXUS LOU – Held up in the early stages of the home straight and was checked and locked wheels with HELLO I TEA when that runner was hanging out under pressure.
MISTERFOURTHOUSAND – Held up in the early stages of the home straight. Inconvenienced passing the 200 metres as a result of HELLO I TEA being straightened down the track after it had locked wheels with LEXUS LOU.
SCARLETT MAY NZ - Broke in the score up for which a warning was issued. Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
HELLO I TEA – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1400 metres. Upon entry to the home straight hung out and locked wheels with LEXUS LOU.
IM DESIRABLE – Driver Kirra Langelaar was questioned in regards to her driving tactics on the mare. Of concern to the Stewards was IM DESIRABLE being forced to race in a three wide position for the entire event. Ms Langelaar explained in the early stages when being restrained, IM DESIRABLE was over racing and approaching the 1200 metres when towards the rear of the field JAYJAYBENNY improved three wide in advance of her runner at which stage her mare became more settled. Ms Langelaar elected to follow JAYJAYBENNY which found a position outside the leader and IM DESIRABLE was caught in a three wide position for the remainder of the event. The comments of Ms Langelaar were noted.
REBOUNDER – Pre-race blood sample. Held up for clear running and was not fully tested.
BETTORS HOPE – Post-race swab sample.
JAYJAYBENNY – Improved three wide from the 1200 metres before finding the position outside the leader passing the 1000 metres. Approaching the 1000 metres the horses’ guiders broke.
RACE 5 – HYNASH GROUP PACE – 1730 metres
WORKS FOR ME NZ – Inconvenienced passing the 1000 metres as a result of the pace in the event easing. Held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.
BUSHY BEACH NZ – Hung in during the score up.
HUTA NZ – Worked forward to the lead approaching the 1200 metres.
SAINT VERAN – Three wide early before working forward to the lead passing the 1200 metres. Post-race swab sample.
WINDY HILL TARA – Pre-race blood sample. Three wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader at the 1200 metres and again worked forward to the lead passing the 900 metres. Post-race swab sample.
FAZE OF GLORY NZ – inconvenienced passing the 1000 metres as a result of the pace in the event easing. Held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.
HES CHIMING – Passing the 400 metres when under pressure had a tendency to hang in.
RACE 6 – BEDWELLS FEEDBARN PACE – 1730 metres
OURSWEETPOG – Broke in the score up and caused a false start and will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw. Rounding the final turn hung in and contacted marker pegs.
CAPITALLEE – Pre-race blood sample.
SATELLITE SIMBA – Approaching the 200 metres was tightened by SHE MAYBE BETTOR when that runner was shifting down the track.
LUCKY ZARA – Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
TISBURY ROCKS NZ – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres.
TEARIN UP THE SAND – Three wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader at the 1300 metres.
SHE MAYBE BETTOR – When shifting down the track approaching the 200 metres placed SATELLITE SIMBA into restricted room. Post-race swab sample.
MILLWOOD GRACE NZ – Hung out under pressure.
RACE 7 – BLUEPRINT SIGNS 2YO PACE – 1730 metres
ALWAYS STORMY – Pre-race blood sample.
THERESHEWAS – Post-race swab sample.
CRUISEAWAY CAPTAIN – Raced roughly passing the 1300 metres before breaking gait approaching the 800 metres. CRUISEAWAY CAPTAIN will now be required to perform one requalifying trial.
RACE 8 – DOWNLOAD THE TAB APP TODAY PACE – 1730 metres
ELLESCHANCE – Pre-race blood sample. Hung out after the start before racing roughly.
CALM REASON – Raced roughly after the start. Broke under pressure passing the 200 metres for which a warning was issued.
PAPA JOE – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres. Post-race swab sample.
MYGIRLVENUS – Broke in the score up and was out of position at the start and will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.
