RACE 1 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1730 metres

TITWHA – Post-race swab.

LOVE WATCH – Held up for clear running and was not fully tested. 

HOOKED ON WINNING NZ – Pre-race blood test.  

 

RACE 2 – RELIANCE BANK PACE – 1730 metres

ARTEMIS MISSION – Pre-race blood test.  Shifted out under pressure.

TEDDY FEELS GOOD – Driver Matthew Atkinson was questioned in regards to the driving tactics adopted on the gelding and the overall performance.  Mr Atkinson explained that his intention was to drive the gelding with cover however TEDDY FEELS GOOD began quite well and there was not as much early speed in the event as first anticipated, as a result he elected to go forward and challenge for the lead for a short distance before realising the lead was unavailable.  From that point on the gelding commenced to over race and Mr Atkinson felt that had contributed to the overall performance of the gelding.  TEDDY FEELS GOOD gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 20.9 metres.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities and Stewards reported the comment of driver Matthew Atkinson.

TAPAGANOOSH – Held up for clear running in the home straight and not fully tested.

SEASIDER – Obtained a run to the inside of ARTEMIS MISSION when that runner shifted ground.  Post-race swab.

 

RACE 3 – VALE TIM NEWSON – 1730 metres

PRINCESS BALLERINA – Pre-race blood test. 

TAKE HIS PLACE – Post-race swab.

RIVIERE – Commenced to improve three wide at the 1050 metres before finding a position outside the leader approaching the 900 metres.

SHAZADELE – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the mare having not raced for in excess of 12 months.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  Held up in the early stages of the home straight before utilising the sprint lane.

 

RACE 4 – VALE GEORGE CORONES – 2260 metres

DUN SPRUKIN – Broke in the score up for which a warning was issued.

HAPPY REG – Checked passing the 250 metres as a result of POPS LEGACY breaking gait.

POPS LEGACY – Slow to begin from the mobile.  Had a tendency to hang in throughout the event.  Commenced to improve three wide from the 1650 metres to a position outside the leader passing the 1450 metres.  Passing the 250 metres broke under pressure.  Given the gelding’s recent record POPS LEGACY will be required to perform one requalifying trial.

IM DESIRABLE – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1850 metres.  Post-race swab.

BETTOR KEPPEL – Checked as a result of POPS LEGACY breaking gait passing the 250 metres.

BAXTER RED – Pre-race blood test.  Inconvenienced approaching the 250 metres as a result of POPS LEGACY breaking gait.

 

 

RACE 5 – BCIT SOLUTIONS PACE – 1730 metres

CHEER FOR MITCH NZ – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having not started for in excess of 12 months.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. 

PABLO ROCKS – Post-race swab.

MISTERFOURTHOUSAND – Approaching the 400 metres was tightened and raced roughly as a result of MY ULTIMATE SKEETA hanging in.

SKITTLE BOMB NZ – Pre-race blood test. 

MY ULTIMATE SKEETA – Had a tendency to hang in and race roughly throughout the event for which a warning was issued.  Driver Matthew Atkinson was issued a reprimand under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that approaching the 400 metres he has failed to make sufficient effort to keep his gelding wider on the track placing MISTERFOURTHOUSAND in restricted room and as a result that runner was tightened and raced roughly. 

KADAR – Held up in the early stages of the home straight.

 

RACE 6 – BATHURST TOYOTA PACE – 1730 metres

NIKALONG MINT – Inconvenienced rounding the final turn as a result of JAMBEROO ARK giving ground.

SHE THE DEVIL – At the second attempt of the start broke in the score up and caused a false start.  Given the filly was unsettled from the first false start no further action was taken.  Worked forward to the lead passing the 1350 metres.

GABBYS SPORTSTAR – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  Post-race swab.

JAMBEROO ARK – Driver Jye Coney was questioned in regards to the overall performance of the gelding after racing outside the leader tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 42.4 metres.  Mr Coney stated the gelding got somewhat fired up during the two false starts and as a result over raced throughout the event and felt that that contributed to the overall performance.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. 

TEARIN UP THE SAND – Pre-race blood test.  Refused to score up on the first occasion resulting in a false start being called for which a warning was issued.

 

RACE 7 – PANTERS BATHURST PACE – 1730 metres

BARKWAY THOMAS – Had a tendency to hang in throughout the event.

CHEVAL TIGER – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1250 metres.

SHES DUNNA RUNNA – Approaching the 900 metres became unbalanced and broke gait and will now be issued its last chance to race truly.

JEWEL HEAVEN – Pre-race blood test.  Post-race swab.

MY GIRL LOLLIPOP NZ – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the mare having not started for in excess of 12 months.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

 

RACE 8 – BEDWELLS FEEDBARN PACE – 1730 metres

CALM REASON – Pre-race blood test.  Post-race swab.

MY ULTIMATE WOODY NZ – Had a tendency to over race throughout the event.

RUNLOCKYRUN – Approaching the 200 metres broke under pressure.  Given the gelding’s overall record RUNLOCKYRUN will be required to perform two requalifying trials and stood down for a period of 14 days.  Driver Jason Turnbull was fined $100 under rule 170(1)(a) for allowing his right foot to drop from the sulky rest.
