RACE 1 – QUICKSHINE CARWASH PACE – 1660 metres

BEACH ON FIRE – Driver J Turnbull was queried on the perceived improved performance of the gelding. He stated since joining the stable recently the gelding has improved in recent starts and from a favorable barrier draw he was expecting a forward showing. Post-race swab sample.

ANDREW SWAGGER – Pre-race blood sample. When negotiating the first turn had a tendency to race roughly.

FAKE MINT – Had a tendency to hang out throughout the event. A warning was placed on the gelding’s racing manners.

GIRLS VIEW – At the request of connections the mare will be placed back in the mobile barrier draw at future starts.

 

RACE 2 – TERRY BROTHERS CARPET COURT PACE – 1660 metres

CARIBBEAN PAT – Pre-race blood sample.

PEAKSART – Post-race swab sample.

CAPTAIN LLANFAIR – Held up for clear racing room over the concluding stages.

TULHURST PEBBLES – Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and was not fully tested.

 

RACE 3 – KENNARDS HIRE PARKES PACE – 1660 metres

LETTUCE GO MIKI – Negotiating the first turn became unbalanced and broke stride. Considering the gelding’s recent race record and being a recent addition to the M Rue stable, the gelding was stood down for a period of 14 days and must also requalify on two occasions. When entering the home straight on the final occasion had a tendency to race roughly.

DOING – Entering the first turn shifted down the track tightening the running of NIXSUN. Driver P Betts was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii). Entering the home straight on the final occasion hung out, then with TENEACHWAY shifting wider was taken further up the track resulting in JOHNNYS BLUE making contact to the sulky wheel and sustaining a flat tyre. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

JOHNNYS BLUE – Checked negotiating the first turn when shifting wider to avoid LETTUCE GO MIKI who had broke stride. Inconvenienced in the home straight on the final occasion when attempting to shift of the back DOING contacting the sulky wheel.

REASON TO PARTY – Post-race swab sample.

NIXSUN – Pre-race blood sample. Entering the first turn was tightened for racing room when DOING shifted down the track.

 

RACE 4 – RICE PROPERTY & LIVESTOCK PACE – 1660 metres

LENNOX BROMAC NZ – Post-race swab sample.

KARLOO DEEZER – Driver J Reynolds was queried on the gelding’s overall performance. He stated when racing three wide in the early stages it was his intention to work forward to the position outside the lead and when unable to muster enough speed he elected to restrain to the tail of the field at the 1100 metres, when restraining to the tail of the field the gelding appeared disinterested in following the field and as a result was disappointed in the performance.

ROSIE ROMANCE – Pre-race blood sample. Broke stride in the early stages of the score up. A warning was issued. Trainer/Driver P Betts was queried on the mare’s overall performance which appeared to have raced below market expectations. Miss Betts stated although disappointed the mare was first up from a short let up and would expect improvement from the run.

 

RACE 5 – TELESCOPE/HANKOOK TYRES PACE – 1660 metres

DEEWHY – Had a tendency to shift out under pressure in the home straight on the final occasion.

LIMBO LILLY – Able to obtain an inside run when DEEWHY shifted wider in the home straight on the final occasion. Post-race swab sample.

MILLWOOD GRACE NZ – When racing three wide from the 400 metres had a tendency to hang in and race roughly.

UNCLE SPORTY - Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 6 – VALE CHRIS GARRARD WARATAH HEAT – 1660 metres

TAKE OUT – When beginning to work forward when attempting to hold the lead raced roughly shortly after the start.

YUKON BE SERIOUS NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

MY ULTIMATE SKEETA – Trainer/Driver N Turnbull was queried on the gelding’s overall performance where it appeared to hang in and race roughly throughout the event. He stated the gelding proved difficult to drive throughout as it appeared to not handle the tight circuit and would look to keep the gelding to the bigger tracks in future.

KADAR – Held up for clear racing room until the final 150 metres.

QUEENHIGH FLUSH NZ – Declared a late scratching at 9.15am.

 

RACE 7 – C & S STOCKFEEDS 3YO PACE – 1660 metres

ALICE RHAYNE BOW – Pre-race blood sample. Inconvenienced at the 100 metres when placed in restricted racing room when TULHURST PARTYGIRL was being shifted wider. Driver S Dowton reported the filly broke a number two carrying strap during the event.

TULHURST PARTYGIRL – Driver N Hurst was issued a reprimand under Rue 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when leaving the 100 metres when held up for clear racing room shifted his runner wider and as a result ALICE RHAYNE BOW was placed in restricted racing room and tightened.

LA FEAST – Broke in the latter stages of the score up causing a false start. A warning was issued. Driver B Micallef was queried on the tactics adopted and the overall performance of the filly. He stated that he had to do some work to hold the lead in the early stages  with the mare travelling comfortable. When placed under pressure at the 400 metres the mare was crossed but from the 300 metres picked the bit up and was held up until yielding ground over the final 100 metres.

IM HERE TO PARTY – Inconvenienced at the 100 metres when ALICE RHAYNE BOW shifted up the track.

YOUNG NELSON – Post-race swab sample.

LUCKY LENNY – Raced roughly when leaving the score up on the first occasion and as a result was out of position. A warning was issued.

 

RACE 8 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1660 metres

MY GIRL LOLLIPOP NZ – Pre-race blood sample. River I Ross was questioned on the mare’s overall performance when she failed to run on over the concluding stages. Miss Ross stated the stable was not overly disappointed in the mare’s performance but would be the intentions to retire the mare. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the off side foreleg. MY GIRL LOLLIPOP NZ would be stood down for a veterinary clearance.

MISS BLUE STORK – Post-race swab sample.

GLOBAL GODDESS – Checked when leaving the 1200 metres as a result of SHEZNOBLE breaking stride.

SHEZNOBLE – Broke stride at the 1200 metres. A warning was issued.

BODELETOS – Inconvenienced at the 1200 metres when SHEZNOBLE broke stride.
