RACE 1 – BIBINA PACE – 1609 metres

MADAMS PEARL – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.

PURE GRUNT – Pre-race sample was taken.  Post-race sample was taken.

TECHY CREED – When questioned regarding the tactics adopted driver R Morris explained to Stewards that after finding a rearward position was comfortable racing throughout the early stages given the early tempo of the event.  He further added that as IRE OF THE DRAGON moved away from the marker pegs to the position outside of the leader felt that he would have had to make too wide a run over the concluding stages and elected to move to a position along the marker pegs leaving the home straight on the first occasion.  He further added that after being somewhat unable to gain clear running around the home turn a run presented at the top of the home straight and finished off the event well.  He further added that if drawn favourably moving forward and where circumstances permit would be driven further forward. 

ONETANGI GIRL NZ – Pre-race sample was taken. 

TERROR EYES NZ – Hampered as the field negotiated the final turn when attempting to gain clear running.

ULTIMATE RHAPSODY – Broke stride during the middle stages of the score up and was out of position as the start was affected.  A warning was issued.

 

RACE 2 – AVE TECHNOLOGIES WARATAH HEAT – 1609 metres

ABSTRACT ART – Driver D Murphy was reprimanded under rule 162(1)(www)(i) in that when driving out over the concluding stages allowed his runner to shift up the track which restricted the racing room of PEPPA BLISS.

THE GREEK GENERAL – Post-race sample was taken.

YESNOMAYBESO – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.

PEPPA BLISS – Pre-race sample was taken.  Placed in restricted room shortly entering the home straight for the run to the finish.

 

RACE 3 – TRUNCKYS PACE – 2030 metres

DOUBLE IT HARRY – Pre-race sample was taken. 

NEXT TO ME NZ – Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.

PETES CRUNCH TIME – Had a tendency to over race throughout the event.  When questioned regarding the performance driver K Morris explained that during the early stages of the event had a tendency to over race and elected to move to the position outside of the leader to which her runner continued to over race whilst racing outside of the leader whereas a result was left wanting over the concluding stages.  Trainer/driver K Morris explained that moving forward if circumstances permit will be driven less aggressively.

KISSMELVIS – Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.

DUTY OF CARE – Post-race sample was taken.

 

RACE 4 – SOMERSET MEATS PACE – 1609 metres

APPLIED NZ – Pre-race sample was taken.  Post-race sample was taken.

SAINT CRUSADER – Had a tendency to hang out in the early stages of the score up and broke stride.  A warning was issued. 

ALWAYS BE CHAPS – Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance. 

PARADISE POINT – Hampered and locked wheels with PORT AU PRINCE NZ as the field negotiated the final turn.

PORT AU PRINCE NZ – Hampered and locked wheels with PARADISE POINT as the field negotiated the final turn. 

 

RACE 5 – GLOBAL BRANDS LIQUOR PACE – 1609 metres

MATT GREGORS BOY – Pre-race sample was taken.  Broke stride in the latter stages of the score up and checked the running of ROCKTAGONAL resulting in a false start being declared.  Connections were advised that given its recent record it will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

SHELL SHOCK NZ – Declared a late scratching shortly after starting its preliminary appeared to become fractious by way of bucking and as a result got its off side hind leg over the shaft of the sulky and after being hung up and standing for some time ultimately fell.  SHELL SHOCK NZ was ultimately scratched on veterinary advice.  Connections were advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness is to be furnished in addition to one requalifying trial.

STAGECOACH – Post-race sample was taken.

 

GENERAL – Stewards adjourned an inquiry into the reasons for JOHNSON STEP NZ being checked as the field entered the first turn with STAGECOACH moving to the lead position at or around that time.  Due to Stewards being unable to review the patrol footage in relation to incident, the inquiry with drivers B Hughes and L Green was adjourned to a time and date to be fixed. 

 

RACE 6 – TOOHEYS PACE – 1609 metres

DEECEE ROCKIN – Checked as the field negotiated the first turn and race roughly for a short distance.  Driver J Meikle was cautioned in relation to the movement wider on the track as the field negotiated the final turn which placed MY LADY SARAH in restricted room for a short distance.

SYLVIA KAY NZ – Pre-race sample was taken.  Contacted the near side wheel of MY LADY SARAH as the field entered the home straight on the first occasion.

MY LADY SARAH – Driver S Lindsay was fined the sum of $200 under rule 168(1)(a) in that after making a three wide move to the position outside of the leader did so without the required clearance over SYLVIA KAY NZ whereas a result contact was made to the near side wheel resulting in a puncture.

FLO RYDA NZ – Checked and broke stride as the field negotiated the final turn.

NOTSOKOOL – Broke stride as the field negotiated the final turn.  Connections were advised would be stood down until it can requalify on one occasion.

WAMBOYNEINAMERICA – Post-race sample was taken.

 

RACE 7 – GARRARDS HORSE AND HOUND PACE – 2030 metres

LOUIE DADA – Post-race sample was taken.

CHLOBRO – Pre-race sample was taken.

MACS TOMADO NZ – When questioned regarding the tactics adopted driver J Callaghan explained that after settling in a rearward position the tempo early in the event was quite solid and elected to move forward in an attempt for a position outside of the leader however the tempo did not eased and coupled with his runner not dashing up as expected was caught racing in a position three wide and obliged to restrain to the rear of the field.  Stewards noted his comments.

MAGIC SHOOS – Checked as the field negotiated the final turn when trailing weakening runners.

ROCKINDOWNUNDER – Had a tendency to over race throughout the event and weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten a considerable distance.  Connections were advised it will be stood down until it can requalify on one occasion.

WALLAROY BOY – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.

 

RACE 8 – SHARP OFFICE TWO YEAR OLD MAIDEN PACE – 1609 metres

YOU ARE MY WISH – Broke stride as the field negotiated the final turn.  Connections were it will be stood down until it can requalify on two occasions in addition a stand down from racing for a period of 14 days.

THIS IS HEAVEN – Post-race sample was taken.

TENNESSEE KID – Had a tendency to hang in whilst under pressure over the concluding stages.

MY ULTIMATE BANJO – Broke stride during the score up.  A warning was issued.

KRUSTY KRUNCH – Out of position as the start was affected.  Driver K Morris was fined $50 under rule 162(1)(j) for failing to come up into position prior to the start being affected.

GOLDNGLITZ – Pre-race sample was taken.  

RUBATEEKI – Out of position as the start was affected.  A warning was issued.  Momentarily locked wheels with and was checked as the field negotiated the final turn.

 

RACE 9 – THE TAB APP MAIDEN PACE – 1609 metes

ABOUT MY TIME – Pre-race sample was taken.  Had a tendency to over race throughout the event after a quick first quarter.  Weakened over the concluding stages to beaten a considerable distance.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Connections were advised that it would be stood down until it can requalify on one occasion.

ROCK AM ALYESKA – Checked and broke stride as the field left the back straight on the final occasion as a result of ABOUT MY TIME weakening out of the event and in turn ADERFAKI shifting down the track slightly.

ADERFAKI – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.  

BLAZING HIGH – Out of position as the start was affected.  A warning was issued.  Post-race sample was taken.

MAJOR POPPI – Had a tendency to over race throughout the event.  Momentarily hampered as the field negotiated the final turn and continued to weaken over the concluding stages to be beaten a considerable distance.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.  Connections were advised it would be stood down until it can requalify on one occasion.

IM THE SNIPER – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.  Upon request from connections approval was given for it to be re-included into the mobile barrier draw.  Broke stride as the field negotiated the final turn.  Connections were advised it would be stood down until it can requalify on one occasion.

LORD JAYDO – Checked as the field negotiated the final turn.
