RACE 1 – BERTOLI LAVINGTON PACE – 1770 metres
ALTA BAYAMO – Shifted out under pressure.
BEAU BROWN – Checked passing the 700 metres as a result of NO MORE PROMISES commencing to tire.
NO MORE PROMISES – Approaching the 700 metres raced roughly and commenced to tire to be beaten 107 metres. Given the overall performance of the mare NO MORE PROMISES will be required to perform one requalifying trial. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
BETTES BLUE VIOLET – Pre-race blood test. Post-race swab.
COMPLICATED – Checked between the 700 metres and the 500 metres as a result of being held up behind the tiring NO MORE PROMISES.
RACE 2 – MARTINS TRAVEL ALBURY PACE – 1770 metres
ALWAYSATTHEBEACH – Driver Blake Micallef was questioned in regards to the overall performance of the mare having started a $1.45 favourite, ALWAYSATTHEBEACH was able to lead the event before failing to run on over the concluding stages to finish in fifth position beaten 9.5 metres. Mr Micallef stated that the mare had to work to hold the lead before being crossed by SHAKEN SANDS and then again had to work when progresssing around SHAKEN SANDS to take the lead. Mr Micallef also stated that due to the cold and wet conditions ALWAYSATTHEBEACH had gone from its normal surroundings of being trained out of the paddock to being trained from a stable and felt that that may not have been beneficial to the mare.
SHANKEN SANDS – Held up in the early stages of the home straight before obtaining a run to the inside of ALWAYSATTHEBEACH.
OUR ROCKY – Had a tendency to shift out under pressure. Trainer David White was questioned into the seemingly improved performance of the gelding. Mr White explained the gelding’s most recent form had tapered off and as a result was sent for a spell. This was the gelding’s first run back from a spell however did trial on Friday at Wagga where OUR ROCKY over raced severely and dropped out of that trial. Tonight OUR ROCKY was able to settle in the run and finish the race off well. Stewards noted the comments of trainer David White. Post-race swab.
TAPANGA MISS – Pre-race blood test.
RACE 3 – COROWA CHAFF PACE – 1770 metres
FIANO – Placed in restricted room on the first turn when LA FEAST was moving down to the marker pegs.
LA FEAST – Driver Blake Micallef was issued a reprimand under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that when crossing to the marker pegs on the first turn has placed FIANO into restricted racing room. Driver Blake Micallef was also questioned in regards to the overall performance of LA FEAST after having a favourable run behind the leader failed to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 45.8 metres into seventh position. Mr Micallef stated that due to the cold and wet conditions the filly had changed its normal surroundings from being trained out of the paddock to trained into a stable and felt this may have affected the overall performance of LA FEAST.
JILLIBY RYDER – Pre-race blood test. Post-race swab.
SHES BELIEVABLE – Approaching the 400 metres was checked and raced roughly as a result of ALWAYS EXCLUSIF moving wider on the track.
YOUNG NELSON – Approaching the 400 metres was inconvenienced as a result of SHES BELIEVABLE being checked and race roughly.
ALWAYS EXCLUSIF – Had a tendency to over race throughout the event. Driver Blake Jones pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that approaching the 400 metres when shifting wider on the track was insufficiently clear of SHES BELIEVABLE causing that runner to be checked and race roughly. Driver Blake Jones had his licence to drive in races suspended for a period of seven days to commence midnight 29 July 2025. In assessing penalty Stewards considered Mr Jones’ plea, record in relation to the rule and the circumstances of this incident.
FRENCH FLEUR – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the mare having not raced for in excess of 12 months. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
SYENITE – Broke after the start and will be continued out of the draw in mobile starts.
RACE 4 – CONSTUCTION SAFETY PACE – 2170 metres
HAPPY TOO YA – Passing the 750 metres hung out and checked BRAEBEACH NZ for which a warning was issued. Passing the 400 metres had a tendency to shift up the track placing BRAEBEACH NZ in restricted room when that runner was racing between HAPPY TOO YA and CRESCO THREEPEAT causing BRAEBEACH NZ to be checked and race roughly.
BARWEN STORM – Approaching the first turn hung in and contacted the sulky of NIFTY AMBITION and as a result raced roughly.
KEYANG BLUE JEANS – Inconvenienced passing the 350 metres as a result of BRAEBEACH NZ being check and racing roughly.
ROLL TO THE TOP – Inconvenienced passing the 350 metres as a result of BRAEBEACH NZ being checked and racing roughly. Driver Michael Day Jnr at the all clear indicated he wished to view the films in relation to the run home. After viewing the films Mr Day elected to take no further action and all clear was given on the judge’s numbers 10, 5, 6 and 3.
CRESCO THREEPEAT – Shifted out under pressure for which a warning was issued.
BRAEBEACH NZ – Inconvenienced racing into the first turn as a result of BARWEN STORM racing roughly. Passing the 700 metres was checked when HAPPY TOO YA hung out. Passing the 350 metres was checked and raced roughly when racing between CRESCO THREEPEAT and HAPPY TOO YA and HAPPY TOO YA shifted up the track restricting the room of BRAEBEACH NZ.
HEZ HARRYWHO – Pre-race blood test.
FRESH PRINCE – Shifted out under pressure for which a warning was issued. Post-race swab.
RACE 5 – DLG ALBURY PACE – 1770 metres
CRACKER MISS – Post-race swab.
PADDY MACH – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
GLAMORS SYMBOL – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the mare having competed in excess of 200 race starts. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
HEZ ON THE BUZZER NZ – Pre-race blood test. Broke in the score up and was out of position at the start and will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw. The gelding took no competitive part in the event.
RACE 6 – SIGNARAMA ALBURY PACE – 2170 metres
OUR GIRL ECHO – Pre-race blood test.
TINNYSMEDAD – Driver Ray White was issued a reprimand under rule 170(1)(a) for allowing his left foot to drop from the sulky rest approaching the 300 metres.
CAPTAIN EVIE – Driver Jackson Painting was issued a reprimand under rule 163(1)(b)(i) in that approaching the 1600 metres he has shifted his runner wider and as a result caused FATHERSDAYSURPRISE to race in a four wide position momentarily. In taking no further action Stewards were mindful that Mr Painting had commenced to improve three wide before FATHERSDAYSURPRISE had fully maintained a racing position to the outside of CAPTAIN EVIE. Post-race swab.
FATHERSDAYSURPRISE – Driver Michael Day Jnr was issued a $50 fine under rule 162(1)(h) for failing to bring the gelding into its position before the starting point. Approaching the 1600 metres was forced into a four wide position when CAPTAIN EVIE commenced to improve three wide in advance of that runner.
UNDENIABLY NEEDY – Held up for clear running in the early stages of home straight. At the request of connections the gelding was re-included into the mobile barrier draw.
RACE 7 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1770 metres
ERNIELOVENBOY – Pre-race blood test.
ALL SO SASSY – Checked passing the 1400 metres as a result of HARTNET breaking gait. Post-race swab.
HARTNETT – Broke at the 1400 metres and again approaching the 1200 metres and will now be required to perform one requalifying trial.
DIDNT I – Passing the 1400 metres was checked as a result of HARTNETT breaking gait.
YOO TRISH – Trainer Micheal Towers was fined the sum of $50 for failing to notify himself as the driver of the mare by the prescribed time. Broke after the start and will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.
