RACE 1 – CORDINA FOOD CO PACE – 1609 metres

GUILTY PARTY – Pre-race blood sample.

DANGEROUS THREATS – Trainer KerryAnn Morris was fined $100 under Rule 210 for the late notification of herself as the driver of the horse. Slow to begin.

DANCE AND DELIVER – Inconvenienced after the start when NO HEART THROB NZ broke stride.

WAR DAN BUDDY – Post-race swab sample.

NO HEART THROB NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Broke after the start checking SURFERS DELIGHT NZ and inconveniencing DANCE AND DELIVER. After considering the recent record of the gelding it was placed outside the mobile barrier draw.

SURFERS DELIGHT – Checked after the start when NO HEART THROB NZ broke stride.

RACE 2 – D M PLUMBING – 2300 metres

DONEGAL LUTHER NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to the lead passing the 2000 metres. Post-race swab sample.

BARTELLO – Pre-race blood sample.

RACE 3 – BUBBA GUMP PEST CONTROL PACE – 1609 metres

CAULONIA COURAGE – Pre-race blood sample.

DOUBLE ACT – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres.

ROCLEA IMAGE NZ – Post-race swab sample.

FAZE OF GLORY NZ – Gave ground over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. After considering the recent record of the gelding, it was stood down until the completion of one requalifying trial.

MACH DA VINCI NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Caught racing wide in the early stage of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1200 metres. Stewards questioned Driver Luke McCarthy with regards to the performance of the horse which finished in 8th placing beaten 14 metres. Mr McCarthy advised stewards the horse travelled well in the early and middle stages of the event despite the early work however he felt it didn’t extend itself in the concluding stages. Mr McCarthy further advised he would look to add pull down blinds to the gear of the horse when it next races. A post-race veterinary examination of the horse failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. After considering the explanation provided by Mr McCarthy, Stewards determined to note his comments.

RACE 4 – CLUB MENANGLE WARATAH FINAL – 1609 metres

TUKAHA – Post-race swab sample.

MAJOR MICKEY – Pre-race blood sample.

FLIPTOP BOTTLESHOP – Pre-race blood sample.

RACE 5 – BESTINBEDS.COM.AU KEVIN NEWMAN FFA (LISTED CLASSIC) – 2300 metres

PETES SAID SO NZ – The gelding was examined prior to and following the running of this event as it has competed in excess of 200 race starts. These examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

CHEVRON ART NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to the lead passing the 1900 metres. 

KINGMAN NZ – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1500 metres.

CAPTAINS KNOCK – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1700 metres. Post-race swab sample.

BAY OF BISCAY – Pre-race blood sample.

RACE 6 – SUCCESS STUD YEARLING PREP PACE – 1609 metres

TIL HEAVENS ROCKN NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Hung in under pressure between the 600 metres and the 400 metres inconveniencing MAURLEN BOY.

SCARLETT MAY NZ – Inconvenienced when leaving the pre-race circle and as a result broke stride. No further action taken.  

MAURLEN BOY – Inconvenienced passing the 500 metres when TIL HEAVENS ROCKN NZ hung in under pressure and gave ground.

ROYAL DIVISION – Pre-race blood sample.

SIR JIMMY – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1100 metres. Post-race swab sample.

RACE 7 – ULTRA AIR PACE – 1609 metres

HALF HOLIDAY – Pre-race blood sample. Over raced during the middle stages of the event. Stewards opened an inquiry into the reasons for HALF HOLIDAY shifting out passing the 350 metres inconveniencing MIKE ROSS NZ and causing that runner to be taken wider on the track checking PETES CRUNCH TIME, CAPTAIN BART, PERFECT STRANGER NZ, SEASIDER and inconveniencing SAO PAULO SIMBA. After taking evidence from Chloe Formosa, the driver of HALF HOLIDAY and Amanda Turnbull, the driver of MIKE ROSS NZ, it was established that passing the 350 metres Miss Formosa had crossed her reins to allow her to clean her driving goggles with her left hand and as a result HALF HOLIDAY shifted out which was racing in tight room to its outside. After consideration, Stewards determined to take not further given the prevailing weather and track conditions, however reminded Miss Formosa to ensure she attempts to everything possible to ensure she does not cause interference in similar circumstances in the future.

CAPTAIN BART – Checked passing the 350 metres when HALF HOLIDAY shifted out.

PERFECT STRANGER NZ - Checked passing the 350 metres when HALF HOLIDAY shifted out inconveniencing MIKE ROSS NZ.

PETES CRUNCH TIME - Checked passing the 350 metres when HALF HOLIDAY shifted out inconveniencing MIKE ROSS NZ.

SAO PAULO SIMBA – Pre-race blood sample. Inconvenienced passing the 350 metres when HALF HOLIDAY shifted out inconveniencing MIKE ROSS NZ.

SEASIDER - Checked passing the 350 metres when HALF HOLIDAY shifted out inconveniencing MIKE ROSS NZ.

MIKE ROSS NZ – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1100 metres. Inconvenienced passing the 350 metres when HALF HOLIDAY shifted up the track.

RACE 8 – MARK SKELTON MEMORIAL TROTTERS STANDING START HANDICAP – 2300 metres

General - A false start was declared on the first occasion when the front tape became entangled around the legs of HES A HAMMER and SUPER SERVICE.

HES A HAMMER – Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 75 metres.

SUPER SERVICE – Broke after the start. After considering the recent record of the gelding, a warning was issued.

ALDEBAREN JENSEN – Trainer KerryAnn Morris was fined $100 under Rule 210 for the late notification of Ashleigh Delosa as the driver of the gelding. Pre-race blood sample.

SPEEDY LOVER – Slow to begin.

RAKERO BLAZE NZ – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1900 metres. Post-race swab sample.

SHEETWEB WEAVER – Pre-race blood sample.

RACE 9 – TAB LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres

OUR SAYDIE KAY – Pre-race blood sample.

BELLA DANZA – Worked forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1200 metres. Post-race swab sample.

HEAVENLY HOLLY – Pre-race blood sample. Gave ground over the concluding stages.

KISS NZ – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1100 metres.
