RACE 1 – MEMBERS BADGE DRAW TONIGHT PACE – 1730 metres

OUR BIG BEE – Broke stride in the latter stages of the score up causing a false start. A warning was issued. The gelding was vetted prior to the second start due to making heavy contact to the mobile barrier arm. The gelding was passed fit to start.

LETTUCE GO MIKI – Passing the 300 metres broke stride. Considering the gelding’s recent record, LETTUCE GO MIKI will be stood down for a period of 28 days and must also requalify on four occasions.

SHAZADELE – Broke stride shortly after the start. A warning was issued. It was noted Driver A Turnbull momentarily lowered her right foot in the home straight on the final occasion. It was reported to Stewards the mare dropped an offside knee boot. Post-race swab sample.

UNCLE TONY – Leaving the 300 metres was checked when shifting wider to avoid LETTUCE GO MIKI.

CHEER FOR MITCH NZ – Had a tendency to over race throughout the event.

SHE MAYBE BETTOR – Held up for clear racing room until the final 150 metres.

MITCHELLS RUN – Hung in shortly after the start was effected.

DUFFY HOLLOW NZ – Pre-race blood sample. At the request of connections, the gelding will be placed back in the mobile barrier draw in future starts.

THE HANDSOME ONE – Out of position prior to the second start. Due to the false start and the speed of the mobile on the second occasion no action was taken.

 

RACE 2 – MICHAEL BROWN PLANNING PACE – 1730 metres

BOULEVARDEOFDREAMS – Pre-race blood sample.

DRIVE TO THE BEACH – Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and not fully tested.

PABLO ROCKS – Over raced throughout the event. Post-race swab sample.

BETTOR KEPPEL - Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and was not fully tested.

 

RACE 3 – BOURKES HORSE RUGS PACE – 1730 metres

KICK THE SWITCH – Inconvenienced at the 900 metres when the pace in the running line eased as a result of GLITTER AINT GOLD racing roughly.

BAXTER RED – Broke stride in the early stages of the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was issued. Due to the distance lost while galloping took no competitive part in the race.

SAINT VERAN - Inconvenienced at the 900 metres when the pace in the running line eased as a result of GLITTER AINT GOLD racing roughly.

PITCH PERFECT NZ - Inconvenienced at the 900 metres when the pace in the running line eased as a result of GLITTER AINT GOLD racing roughly. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it to have bled form the offside nostril. Connections were advised the gelding would be stood down for one requalifying trial.

GLITTER AINT GOLD – When working forward to the lead at the 900 metres raced roughly and as a result the runners in the marker line were inconvenienced. A warning was issued. Had a tendency to shift out under pressure in the home straight overt the final stages. Post-race swab sample.

PICCADILLY PETE NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Inconvenienced at the 900 metres when the pace in the running line eased because of GLITTER AINT GOLD racing roughly. Inconvenienced at the 100 metres when attempting a run to the inside of KICK THE SWITCH.

CASSIUS DECK - Inconvenienced at the 900 metres when the pace in the running line eased as a result of GLITTER AINT GOLD racing roughly.

 

RACE 4 – SUCCESS STUD WERSTERN OAKS FINAL – 2260 metres

SHE THE DEVIL – Broke stride in the early stages of the score up and as a result was out of position at the start. A warning was issued. As a result of the distance lost while galloping, the filly took no competitive part in the race. Driver J Coney was reminded of his obligations to restrain his horse to ensure no runners following are not inconvenienced when his horse is galloping in the score up.

TULHURST PARTYGIRL – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be lame in the nearside foreleg. Connections were advised a veterinary certificate must be submitted prior to racing.

THE SWIFT ONE – Pre-race blood sample. Driver W Rixon was queried on the below market expectation of the filly. He stated he was not overly disappointed in the filly however it may not have backed up from two runs in the past week.

A TRUE LOVE – Hung in under pressure over the final 100 metres. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 5 – ONE GROUP WESTERN DISTRICTS CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL – 2260 metres

TAPAGANOOSH – Driver W Rixon stated the gelding proved difficult to drive as a result of hanging out and when leaving the 1000 metres elected to take cover hoping the gelding may race more truly. However, TAPAGANOOSH continued to hang out until placed under pressure over the final 300 metres where it raced more truly. He further added he advised Trainer D Dwyer that a change of gear may be required to improve the gelding’s racing manners. A warning was placed on its racing manners.

ALWAYSBMINNIE – Pre-race blood sample.

JUSTA DRAGON – Driver P Betts was fined $400 under Rue 156(2)(a) in that when applying the whip between the 500 metres and 300 metres has done so with more than a wrist flicking action. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 6 – NUTRIEN GOLD CROWN SALE GRADUATE FINAL – 1730 metres

THE ATTRACTOR – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

INTHESWINGOFTHINGS – Hung out shortly after the start and as a result raced roughly. Considering the filly’s recent record, she will be placed outside the mobile barrier draw in future starts.

KRUSTY KRUNCH – Slow out as the start was effected and was inconvenienced shortly after the start because of INTHESWINGOFTHINGS hanging out.

CHEVAL TIGER – Post-race swab sample.

WORTH EVERY CENT – Driver W Rixon could give no reasonable explanation for the filly’s poor performance where she raced roughly over the final 300 metres and tired to finish in 10th position beaten 78.3 metres. The filly will be required to requalify on one occasion.

SYDS JOY – Pre-race blood sample.

LUCKY BAMBINO – Driver J Turnbull was queried on the gelding’s overall performance where it failed to run on over the concluding stages to finish in 9th position beaten 42.4 metres. He stated the gelding is not suited to racing outside the lead without cover and as a result was detrimental to its overall performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a superficial abrasion to the nearside bumper.

 

RACE 7 – HYNASH GROUP WESTERN DERBY FINAL – 2260 metres

RATATATTAT – Hung out shortly after the start was effected.

MIKE ROSS NZ – Driver A Turnbull was fined $100 under Rule 170(1)(a) in that when driving her runner out in the home straight on the final occasion she has allowed her right foot to lower from the sulky rest.

JUNGLE DRAGON – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 8 – THE CATTLEWASH BACK STRAIGHT PACE – 1730 metres

MARVELLA – Post-race swab sample.

FLIRTS DIVA – Driver J Turnbull was queried on the mare’s overall performance as she failed to run over the final 300 metres to finish in 10th and last position beaten 29 metres. Mr Turnbull could give no reasonable explanation for the performance.

THE ROGUE I AM – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 9 – DOWNLOAD THE APP TODAY PACE – 1730 metres

DEAR DARLING – Driver M Turnbull was fined $400 under Rule 156(2)(a) in that when applying his whip in the home straight on the final occasion has done so with more than a wrist flicking action.

STAY STYLISH – It was noted Driver A Turnbull momentarily lowered her right foot from the sulky rest. Ms Turnbull was advised to have her sulky footrest adjusted to alleviate the problem of her foot lowering.

MAMMALS JEWEL – Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and was not fully tested.
