THE ACCIDENTAL ONE – Driver Mitch Turnbull indicated before the all clear that he wished to view the films in relation to the run home.  After viewing the films Mr Turnbull lodged an objection against the second placed runner PHAR LUME NZ alleging interference approaching the 150 metres.  After taking evidence from Mr Turnbull and Jye Coney the driver of PHAR LUME NZ Stewards concluded that approaching the 150 metres PHAR LUME NZ did hang in and locked wheels momentarily with THE ACCIDENTAL ONE causing that runner to be inconvenienced.  From that point on THE ACCIDENTAL ONE and PHAR LUME NZ raced on equal terms until approaching the 75 metre mark where THE ACCIDENTAL ONE tired slightly and PHAR LUME NZ progressed forward leaving a margin between the two runners of five metres.  Given all available evidence Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied had the interference not occurred THE ACCIDENTIAL ONE would have beaten PHAR LUME NZ home and as a result dismissed the objection and gave all clear on the judge’s number of 11, 10, 2 and 9.
