RACE 1 – MATES4HARNESS PACE – 1609 metres

GLENN FORD NZ – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding starting in excess of 200 race starts. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities. Inconvenienced at the 1400m when the speed of the race decreased slightly.

DREAM TO DANCE – Pre-race sample.

IM NO GIFT – Post-race sample.

WHAT FOR – Inconvenienced at the 1400m when the speed of the race decreased slightly.

 

RACE 2 – SLICK CHICKS PACE – 1609 metres

ROCK AM ALYESKA – Pre-race sample.

WICKED LEGEND – Raced greenly after the start when being restrained towards the rear of the field.

ROREY JAY – Galloped in the early stages of the score up before being out of position at the start. Will continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.

GRUMPYSSHANNON – Post-race sample.

 

RACE 3 – PITCHER PARTNERS PACE – 1609 metres

JIMMY STEEL NZ – Led the event before hanging out racing down the back straight on the final occasion and giving ground to be beaten 30m. In assessing the overall racing manners of the mare, connections were advised that JIMMY STEEL NZ would be placed on its last chance to race truly.

MYSTICAL SUNSHINE – Pre-race sample.

PEPPERCORN BARRY – Post-race sample.

HALLOWEEN – Tightened for racing room between ROCKNROLL TONY and MYSTICAL SUNSHINE in the vicinity of the 1400m.

SPECIALIZE LOU – Inconvenienced rounding the final bend due to JIMMY STEEL NZ hanging out from the marker peg line.

 

RACE 4 – PSC INSURANCE BROKER PACE – 1609 metres

SLINGSHOT – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding starting in excess of 200 race starts. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities. Pre-race sample.

SMOOTH ROLLING – Post-race sample.

 

RACE 5 – SHARP OFFICE PACE – 1609 metres

General – The start of this race was delayed due to Dalby Thoroughbreds Race 7 running behind schedule.

BE GOOD BENNY – Gave ground to be beaten into ninth position, 36m. Driver C Griffiths explained that BE GOOD BENNY was placed at a disadvantage when being caught racing without cover outside of the leader. Mr Griffiths added that his drive has not performed well when having to race in this position previous. Mr Griffiths advised that in his opinion BE GOOD BENNY would have finished the race off more competitive if able to gain cover. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormal findings.

RACE 6 – WOLF BLASS PACE – 1609 metres

LOUIE DADA – Post-race sample.

NIFTY STUDLEIGH – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding starting in excess of 200 race starts. Neither examination revealed any abnormalities.

SPIRIT KING – Driver B McDonough momentarily dropped his right foot over the concluding stages.

MAGIC MATTEO – Held up for clear racing room in the home straight on the final occasion and unable to be fully tested in the run to the finish.

SINBINNED – Pre-race sample.

HOT CRUISE CONTROL - Held up for clear racing room in the home straight on the final occasion and unable to be fully tested in the run to the finish.                                         

 

RACE 7 – THE TAB APP PACE– 1609 metres

STEALTH BOMBA NZ – Driver V Duncan explained that he elected to restrain STEALTH BOMBA NZ shortly after the start due to early speed being evident from runners drawn directly inside and wider on the track. Mr Duncan added that he felt that due to the speed of other runners STEALTH BOMBA NZ may have been required to race wide on the track throughout. Mr Duncan advised that he felt it would be beneficial for his drive to race closer to the marker pegs to be able to finish in its best possible placing.
