RACE 1 – AINSWORTH A-STAR TROTTERS MOBILE – 1609 metres

ITS ALL RIGHT NOW – Entering the first turn was inclined to lay in.

FONDA RHONDA – Approaching the 400 metres became unbalanced and broke gait.  A warning was issued.

KYVALLEY JAGGER – Approaching the 1300 metres became unbalanced and broke gait.  A warning was issued.

RAINBOW JESTER – Raced three wide in the early stages before working forward.

LOTUS LOUISE – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Post-race swab samples were obtained.

YOUR MAJESTY – Out of position at the start and be continued to be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 2 – HYLAND SPORTSWEAR TROTTERS MOBILE – 1609 metres

FAMILIAR TRICKS – Leaving the 600 metres was inclined to hang in.  Post-race swab samples were obtained.

MOONWALKA – Passing the 600 metres commenced to hung in under pressure and weaken. 

OH NOVA LOVE NZ – Racing between the 600 metres and the 400 metres was hampered by MOONWALKA which gave ground.  Leaving the 100 metres became unbalanced and broke gait.  A warning was issued. 

SHOULD BEABARCA – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.

 

RACE 3 – PRYDE’S EASIFEED PACE – 1609 metres

PLAYFUL MISS – Held up for clear running until passing the 200 metres.  Leaving the 100 metres had to be steadied away from SPECIAL SPIN and was taken out towards BROOKESSMARTDANCER.

PARALLEL – Post-race swab samples were obtained.

MY GREAT EIGHT – Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.

SPRING DELIGHT – Held up for clear running in the latter stages of the home straight and was not fully tested.

BROOKESSMARTDANCER – Caught wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field.  Leaving the 200 metres had to be steadied wider when PLAYFUL MISS shifted out.  Leaving the 100 metres had to be checked wider to avoid PLAYFUL MISS which was taken wider by SPECIAL SPIN and subsequently BROOKESSMARTDANCER broke gait.

SPECIAL SPIN – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Unable to secure clear running until shifting wider leaving the 100 metres.  Driver J Turnbull pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that leaving the 100 metres when shifting SPECIAL SPIN wider he placed PLAYFUL MISS in restricted room and forced that runner out onto BROOKESSMARTDANCER and subsequently BROOKESSMARTDANCER was checked and broke gait.  In assessing penalty consideration was given to J Turnbull’s guilty plea, his overall driving record and the degree of interference.  J Turnbull had his licence to drive in races suspended for a period of seven days.

 

RACE 4 – ALLCOTT HIRE ALL AREAS PACE – 1609 metres

HOOKED ON WINNING NZ – Broke gait during the score up and was out of position at the start.  A warning was issued.

WILLS WAY – Post-race swab samples were obtained.

DEVILS BLING – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.

A VAPAR STORM – Passing the 400 metres was inclined to hang in.

DANCING WITH MY EX – Caught wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field.

 

RACE 5 – TAB WE’RE ON LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres

BETTINE – Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.

FAY IRENE – Unable to secure clear running until leaving the 200 metres when FAY IRENE improved between LE TWIST NZ and BOLERO.

LE TWIST NZ – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.  Driver M Stanley explained that the mare did not give him the same feel during he event as it had at its most recent win.  He said that LE TWIST NZ never travelled genuinely, and he would suggest to trainer L McCarthy that LE TWIST NZ may require a gear change.

SKY BLU – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Post-race swab samples were obtained.

CONSIDER IT DONE – Had difficulty securing clear running in the latter stages of the home straight and was not fully tested.

SNOW HUNTER – Caught wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field where the mare was inclined to over race throughout the middle stages.

CHARLIES ACE NZ – Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.

 

RACE 6 – WARDS ACCOUNTING GROUP PACE – 1609 metres

GIMME A REASON – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding suffered a minor eye injury due to track material.  No stand down was required.

THE TAX CULLECTOR – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Raced five back along the marker pegs and gave ground over the concluding stages.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

STORMTIDE – Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.

UNFAZED NZ – Post-race swab samples were obtained.

 

RACE 7 – MULTIQUIP AGGREGATES PACE – 1609 metres

WAHAKA – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.

RAKADEAKS NZ – Raced roughly during the early stages of the score up.  Out of position at the start.  Driver L Painting was fined the sum of $50 under rule 162(1)(h).

SAO PAULO SIMBA – Inclined to race roughly entering the first turn.  Disappointed for a run near the 150 metres and was subsequently held up and unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight.

TUAPEKA LOU NZ – Post-race swab samples were obtained.

 

RACE 8 – IRT YOUR HORSE OUR PASSION PACE – 1609 metres

LETS TURN IT ON – Post-race swab samples were obtained.

BANDIT EYES – Delayed the start due to an issue with the hopple shortener pins.  Hung out when placed under pressure in the home straight and near the 100 metres raced inside the line of MIKI BE GOOD and carried that runner slightly wider.  A warning was issued. 

SKITTLE BOMB NZ – Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.

MIKI BE GOOD – Approaching the 100 metres was hampered by BANDIT EYES which was inclined to hang out and was taken wider. Shortly after bumped with SPIRIT OF ANARCHY NZ which was taken in by FOXY DADA and subsequently MIKI BE GOOD received a contact and broke gait.

RED REACTOR NZ – Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.

SPIRIT OF ANARCHY NZ – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.  Leaving the 100 metres was taken in by FOXY DADA resulting in SPIRIT OF ANARCHY NZ being checked and losing its rightful running.   

FOXY DADA – Unable to secure clear running until leaving the 100 metres.  Driver B Portelli pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that he shifted FOXY DADA in when not clear of SPIRIT OF ANARCHY NZ resulting in that runner being tightened down toward MIKI BE GOOD and subsequently SPIRIT OF ANARCHY NZ was checked and lost its rightful running.  When assessing penalty consideration was given to B Portelli’s guilty plea and overall driving record. B Portelli was not found solely responsible for MIKI BE GOOD incurring interference inside of SPIRIT OF ANARCHY NZ.  B Portelli had his licenced to drive in races suspended for a period of seven days.
