RACE 1 – BLUEPRINT SIGNS PACE – 2260 metres

FLYING COLOURS NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

MIKE ROSS NZ – Post-race swab sample.

FRESH PRINCE – Had a tendency to over race throughout the event.

DUFFY HOLLOW NZ – Had a tendency to over race throughout the event. Held up in the early stages of the home straight.

 

RACE 2 – CONFEDERATE STANDING AT COBBITTY EQUINE PACE – 1730 metres

UNCLE JAY – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

DRIVE TO THE BEACH – Hung in after the start.

DUN SPRUIKIN – Trainer representative Nathan Townsend was spoken to in regards to the seemingly improved performance of the horse. Mr Townsend explained DUN SPRUIKIN was afforded an ideal trip having cover in the running line and felt the race was run to suit when the second quarter was run in 32 seconds. Post-race swab sample.

SHAZADELE – Pre-race blood sample.

MISTERFOURTHOUSAND – Had a tendency to over race throughout the event.

 

RACE 3 – PANTHERS BATHURST PACE – 1730 metres

PAS DE CHEVAL – Driver Paula Sapio was questioned in regards to her driving tactics and the overall performance of the mare after showing gate speed and leading the event, Miss Sapio resisted a challenge from SPEED DIAL and remained racing in front until tiring over the concluding stages to be beaten 21.4 metres. Miss Sapio stated Trainer Mr Steve Turnbull indicated the mare was dropping in grade and felt its best chance was being able to hold the lead however Mr Turnbull felt the mare was disappointing in tonight’s event.  Post-race veterinary examination revealed PAS DE CHEVAL had a slow recovery rate.

OUR GEORGE BOSTON – Inconvenienced passing the 250 metres as a result of PAS DE CHEVAL giving ground.

JUSTA DRAGON – Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 4 – BEDWELLS FEEDBARN PACE – 1730 metres

BETTORS HOPE – Post-race swab sample.

IM DESIRABLE – Held up in the latter stages of the home straight.

BAXTER RED – Driver Mat Rue was fined $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) or applying the whip in more than a wrist only flicking motion over the concluding stages.

HES CHIMING – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 5 – RELIANCE BANK PACE – 1730 metres

BETTING STAR – Trainers Dean & Kerry McDowell were fined $50 under Rule 210 for failing to advise Matthew Atkinson as the driver of the mare by the prescribed time.

TIME TO TORQUE – Post-race swab sample.

RIVIERE – Broke after the start for which a warning was issued.

CHELSEAS GIRL – Inconvenienced after the start as a result of RIVIERE breaking gait.

KOWHAI BLAZE NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Fractious in the score up and was out of position at the candy pole. KOWHAI BLAZE NZ was issued its last chance in the draw.

 

RACE 6 – BATHURST TOYOTA 2YO PACE – 1730 metres

UPTOWN CHANCE – Shifted out under pressure. Post-race swab sample.

MAMMALS JEWEL – Over raced in the early stages of the event.

ADHA KOKO – Broke in the score up and was out of position at the start and will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw. The filly took no competitive part in the event.

BETHS FURY – Out of position at the start and was issued its last chance in the draw.

MAJOR UPTOWN – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 56.5 metres.

LIMERYCK LANE – Pre-race blood sample. Broke under pressure. Given the gelding was having its second race start, LIMERYCK LANE will be stood down pending one requalifying trial.

 

RACE 7 – BCIT SOLUTIONS – YOUR TRUSTED IT EXPARTS PACE – 1730 metres

MYSTERIOUS BEACH – Broke in the score up and caused a false start. Given the gelding’s recent record MYSTERIOUS BEACH was excluded from the mobile barrier draw. Driver Justin Reynolds was questioned in regards to his driving tactics and the overall performance of MYSTERIOUS BEACH where after being able to lead the event, Mr Reynolds resisted a challenge in the early stages from ZACHARY SHANNON for a short distance and again resisted another challenge from approximately the 900 metres before commencing to tire from the 600 metres to be beaten 137.4 metres. Mr Reynolds stated the stable was really happy with the gelding going into the event as it had been working well and were extremely confident of a forward showing, he also stated the hopple shorteners had entangled around the horses offside hind leg. Mr Reynolds felt the gelding was somewhat disappointing and as a result the stable intend to spell the gelding resulting in MYSTERIOUS BEACH being stood down for 28 days. Passing the 600 metres when commencing to tire, RATATATTA contacted and flattened the offside sulky wheel when that gelding was moving wider on the track. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slow recovery. In view of the performance of the gelding, MYSTERIOUS BEACH was stood down pending one requalifying trial.

RATATATTAT – Approaching the 600 metres contacted and flattened the offside sulky wheel of MYSTERIOUS BEACH as a result of that runner commencing to give ground.

ZACHARY SHANNON - Driver Travis Bullock was questioned in regards to his overall tactics and the performance of the gelding when after beginning well Mr Bullock elected to challenge for the lead for a brief period, and again approaching the 900 metres issued another challenge to the leader MYSTERIOUS BEACH. Mr Bullock stated his runner commenced to race keenly and the pace in the event had eased in the second quarter to a 30 second quarter and as a result he felt the leader MYSTERIOUS BEACH was starting to come under some pressure and he elected to work forward in an attempt to work to the lead which did eventuate approaching the 600 metres. Mr Bullock stated he wasn’t disappointed in the overall performance of the gelding having been beaten 16.2 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

RACE 8 – DOWNLOAD THE TAB APP TODAY PACE – 1730 metres

STAY STYLISH – Pre-race blood sample. Inconvenienced passing the 1100 metres as a result of the pace in the event easing. Shifted out under pressure.

STAR TIN – Inconvenienced passing the 1100 metres as a result of the pace in the event easing.

TREACHEROUS JET- Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
