RACE 1 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1609 metres.

BENJIMAGEE – Pre-race blood sample.

MONTANA NIGHTS – Fractious during the score up and hung out. Connections were advised that the provision of last chance in the mobile draw would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.

RUM DELIGHT NZ – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations. Post-race swab sample.

HEY DUDE – Raced in restricted room for some distance approaching the home turn and was held up in the early part of the home straight.

YOGI – Pre-race blood sample.

RACE 2 – SAUERS GLASS TAMWORTH PACE – 1609 metres

TRY CATCHING ME – Pre-race blood sample. Driver B Hughes was reprimanded under AR 163(1)(b)(i), for shifting ground outwards at the entrance to the back straight on the first occasion, when not quite clear of TIGERMAC resulting in TIGERMAC being forced wider momentarily.

TIGERMAC – Galloped away when the start was effected, however was quickly restrained. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record. Post-race swab sample.

DIXIE SHANNON – Had to be checked and lost ground at the start when attempting to avoid TIGERMAC.

A LITTLE DILEMMA – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations. Driver J Osborn pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 156(2)(a), stating that when applying the whip in the home straight, he did so in a manner that exceeded a wrist only flicking motion. J Osborn was fined $200.

GREENWOOD LENNY – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations. Hung in for some distance after the start and was difficult to drive. Trainer/driver Mr D Mackney was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.

SPOOKY ART – Had to be checked and lost some ground passing the 300 metres when racing tight on the inside of TRY CATCHING ME, which hung in and shifted in despite the efforts of its driver.

FEISTY TIGER – Driver B Elder pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 156(2)(a), stating that when applying the whip in the home straight, he did so in a manner that exceeded a wrist only flicking motion. B Elder was fined $200.

RACE 3 – HAZELLS – LOCAL TRAINERS DRAW PACE – 1609 metres.

AGENT CALLAN – Post-race swab sample.

SILENT REACTION – Pulled hard during the early and middle stages.

FESTINALENTE – Pre-race blood sample.

RACE 4 – THREAD EFFECTS EMBROIDERY TAMWORTH PACE – 1609 metres

JACKS UP – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations. Driver G Panella was fined $100 under AR 170(1)(a), for allowing her foot to drop below the sulky rest for some distance inside the 450 metres.

MY ROCK MOVES – Post-race swab sample.

MAGIC SHOOS – Had to be checked and was forced very wide rounding the home turn when carried out by TINNY MAHONEY.

BETTOR KEEP ROCKING NZ – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations. Pre-race blood sample. Trainer/driver Mr T Ison lodged a protest against MY ROCK MOVES being declared the winner alleging interference inside the 450 metres. In dismissing the objection it was determined that for some distance inside that point after establishing a run to the inside of JACKS UP which was racing inside MY ROCK MOVES, BETTOR KEEP ROCKING NZ had to be checked and raced roughly, however given that this incident could not be attributed to a shift from MY ROCK MOVES which was hanging in when racing outside JACKS UP and considering the manner that both horses ran to the finish, comfortable satisfaction could not be reached that BETTOR KEEP ROCKING NZ was interfered with by MY ROCK MOVES and regardless it would not have beaten that runner to the finish.  Subsequently G Panella the driver of JACKS UP pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 163(1)(a)(iii), stating that for some distance inside the 450 metres she allowed JACKS UP to shift in whilst driving it along, when insufficiently clear of BETTOR KEEP ROCKING NZ, resulting in BETTOR KEEP ROCKING NZ having to be checked and racing roughly.  G Panella’s licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of seven days, to commence at midnight on 22 August 2025 and expire on 30 August 2025 on which day she may drive.

SAN SABA – Broke stride free of any external factors entering the back straight on the first occasion and galloped before being restrained. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing record.

TINNY MAHONEY – Checked and broke stride approaching the home turn when awkwardly placed racing close to CHLOBRO and in restricted room, which caused A Varga the driver of TINNY MAHONEY to experience difficulty with visibility.

RACE 5 – PORTABLE HORSE STABLES TAMWORTH PACE – 1980 metres

ELLIE RIPPIN – Hung in for some distance after the start.

ULTIMATE ALL STAR – When questioned in relation to the performance driver C Formosa explained, that it had been her pre-race intention to obtain a forward position and when attempting to achieve this she was caught wide after the start for a considerable distance. She said that she drove forward in a three wide position entering the home straight on the first occasion, however, was unable to muster sufficient speed to improve quickly enough to prevent being trapped wide for longer than intended. She said that after crossing BLING THE KASH in the back straight her drive travelled comfortably at a relatively moderate tempo, however when placed under pressure inside the 500 metres, became unbalanced in the soft track conditions and was unresponsive from that point. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.

ROCKNROLL CLARRY – Post-race swab sample.

MACEDES – Pre-race blood sample.

Following the running of this race a deputation of senior drivers made representation in relation to difficulty with vision due to on going rain and the track surface becoming corrugated and retaining surface water. Following a track inspection whereby remedial action was ordered and the remaining races were re-scheduled to allow time for the remedial works to take effect, a further rain event occurred which forced the abandonment of the remainder of the meeting.
