CROOKED CROWN – Yielded ground from the 500m to finish in 9th position beaten 73.1m.
WONGALEA YANK – Driver Blake Jones pleaded guilty to a charge under AHR Rule 165(1)(b) which reads: (1) From the start through the first turn, and until reaching the nest straight, a driver shall not - (b) not move the driver’s horse towards the inside running line unless the rear of the driver’s sulky is a least one (1) metre clear of the extended front legs of the horse racing in the next position closer to the inside running line. the particulars of the charge being entering the first turn Mr Jones permitted WONGALEA YANK to shift inwards when not one (1) metre clear of the extended front legs of KRISSY which was progressing through along the marker line resulting in KRISSY being tightened for racing room & being checked and breaking gait. In assessing penalty Stewards considered the HRNSW Penalty Guidelines, placing weight on Mr Jones guilty plea the low degree of carelessness & his overall offence record which indicated one (1) prior offence in 6656 drives under this rule in October 2024 (458 drives). Mr Jones was suspended for a period of ten (10) days commencing midnight 25th August 2025.

RACE 3– RIVERINA SIGNMAKERS PACE –1740 metres
ROAM – ($1.75 Fav) Pre-race swab. Driver Nathan Jack was queried into the seemingly poor performance of the mare which finished in 9th position beaten 41.4m after trailing the leader throughout the event. Mr Jack advised the mare to be extremely disappointing as ROAM was having its first start for the stable which were confident of a forward performance from ROAM. Mr Jack added that the mare hung outwards throughout the event which was uncharacteristic for ROAM & failed to travel sufficiently at any stage of the event and to possibly to have an underlying issue. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Russell Jack will be contacted in the coming days relative to the mare’s progress subsequent to the event.
HEZ HARRYWHO – ($6.50) Trainer John Newbery was queried into the seemingly improved performance of the gelding compared to its most recent starts. Mr Newberry advised HEZ HARRYWHO had been racing better than its form suggested and was confident of a forward performance from the gelding if able to lead where HEZ HARRYWHO has won the majority of races. Mr Newberry added HEZ HARRYWHO benefitted from being able to lead in today’s event as the gelding was dropping slightly in grade to prior starts. Post-race swab.

MY ULTIMATE LUCIUS – Raced roughly momentarily rounding the final turn. Held up and failed to gain clear running for the entire length of the home straight.
CEE CEE LOU – ($8.00) Driver Nathan Jack was queried into the overall performance of the gelding which finished in 9th position beaten 12.1m after leading. Mr Jack attributed the performance to the gelding having sustained pressure applied during a quick first half of the event in 56.3 seconds. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding displaying a delayed postrace recovery.
TENACIOUSLY – ($1.25 Fav) Trainer/driver Brad Hewitt was queried into the overall performance of the filly which finished in 5th position beaten 6m after racing outside the leader from the 800m. Mr Hewitt advised he was satisfied with the performance of the filly as TENACIOUSLY was having its first start for his stable and had to work more than expected to obtain the position outside the leader approaching the 800m after improving from the 1100m with a quick second (28.7) & third (28.3) quarters. Mr Hewitt added TENACIOUSLY was racing more stronger opposition than prior starts and would derive benefit from the event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
