RACE 1 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1720 metres

QUEENHIGH FLUSH NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Raced roughly shortly after the start. A warning was issued.

SHE MAYBE BETTOR – Post-race swab sample.

MULLUM AXEL – Had a tendency to over race throughout the event.

VINYGETSACHANCE – Driver P Betts was queried on the gelding’s overall performance when failing to run on over the final 500 metres to finish in 9th and last position beaten 71.4 metres. Miss Betts stated the gelding was up in grade today and with the fast tempo of the event proving detrimental to the horse’s overall performance. Considering the geldings overall individual mile rate and the distance beaten a warning was placed on  VINYGETSACHANCE.

LIMBO LOTTIE – Inconvenienced shortly after the start when trailing QUEENHIGH FLUSH NZ.

HUDSON RIVER – Driver S Dowton was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(h) for failing to have his runner in position prior to the start.

JESSIE LEE - Driver M Hewitt was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(h) for failing to have his runner in position prior to the start.

 

RACE 2 – ZOO FM PACE – 1720 metres

TISBURY ROCKS NZ – Post-race sample.

MARVELLA – Over raced throughout the event.

FLIRTS DIVA – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be 3/5 lame in the left hindleg. Connections were advised a veterinary clearance must be submitted prior to racing.

GABBYS SPORTSTAR – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted as the gelding has had over 200 race starts. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.

LIMBO LILLY – Pre-race blood sample.

LENNOX BROMAC – Driver N Townsend was queried on the gelding’s overall performance which failed to run on over the final 400 metres to finish in 10th and last position beaten 53.4 metres. He stated the gelding was disappointing in today’s event but has performed below par at its recent starts and would look to freshen up and monitor the gelding over the coming days.

 

RACE 3 – VALE ALLAN BILES – 1720 metres

LIMBO LENNY – Trainer/Driver J Betts was queried on the gelding’s overall performance which tired over the final 500 metres after leading the event to finish in 9th position beaten 59.3 metres. He stated from the favorable barrier draw he elected to hold the lead but with the pressure applied throughout the event the gelding tired over the concluding stages. He added it would be his intention to drive the gelding more conservative if circumstances permitted in future. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be 2/5 lame in the near foreleg. Connections were advised a veterinary clearance must be submitted prior to racing or trialing.

OUR DICKIE BART – Over raced throughout the event. Inconvenienced between the 600 metres and 500 metres when trailing JAMBEROO ARK which was yielding ground.

BULLI BELLE – Pre-race blood sample.

JAMBEROO ARK – Driver J Turnbull was queried on the overall performance of the gelding which tired over the final 500 metres to finish in 10th and last position beaten 70 metres. He stated the normal tactics of the gelding are to lead the event where he appeared to perform at its best, with the work he had to do attempt to obtain the lead and racing outside the leader for a short distance proved detrimental to the overall performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Connections were advised the gelding would be required to requalify on one occasion.

BOLZANO NZ – Checked between the 500 metres and 400 metres when trailing LIMBO LENNY who was yielding ground.

BURRABADINE BULLET - Checked between the 500 metres and 400 metres when trailing LIMBO LENNY who was yielding ground.

RACE 4 – GARRARDS WESTERN LOYALTY SERIES FINAL – 2120 metres

CHASIN YOU – Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and not fully tested.

REDUCE SPEED - Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and not fully tested.

SEVEN TEE TWO – A pre-race veterinary examination was conducted as the gelding had suffered an abrasion to its near side nostril . The gelding was cleared to race.

PHAR LUME NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 5 – GUARANTEED @ ATRISTIC LODGE PACE – 1720 metres

JOHNNYS BLUE – Post-race swab sample.

LOGAN REASON – Entering the home straight on the final occasion jostled for a short distance with CATHS IN DENIAL to obtain clear running.

EMILYS PRINCE – Broke stride in the score up causing a false start on the first occasion. The race was delayed to allow the hopple connecting strap to be replaced. Furthermore, the gelding broke stride in the second score up and as a result was out of position at the start. Connections were advised the gelding would be placed outside the mobile barrier draw in future starts. Due to the distance lost while galloping, took no competitive part in the race.

BEACH ON FIRE – Pre-race blood sample.

JOHEMIAN – Driver A Winnell was questioned on the gelding’s overall performance which tired over the final 700 metres to finish in 9th position beaten 218 metres. He could give no reasonable explanation for the poor performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have suffered atrial fibrillation for the first time. Connections were advised the gelding would be stood down for a period of 14 days, must requalify on one occasion and submit a veterinary certificate inclusive of an ECG.

TULHURST PEBBLES – Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and was not fully tested.

CAPITALLEE - Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and was not fully tested.

BEYONDREASON – Broke stride in the early stages of the second score up and as a result was out of position at the start. A warning was issued. The gelding took no competitive part in the race.

CATHS IN DENIAL – Inconvenienced when entering the home straight on the final occasion when jostling with LOGAN REASON.

 

RACE 6 – THE STORM INSODE @ ALABAR PACE – 1720 metres

CARIBBEAN PAT – Over raced throughout the event.

PUPPETEER – Pre-race blood sample. Trainer G Simpson was questioned on the perceived improved performance of the gelding. He stated the gelding was considerably down in grade in tonight’s event and had been performing better than his form shows in recent starts. He further added he was expecting a forward showing from the gelding in tonight’s event. Post-race swab sample.

TENEACHWAY – Over raced throughout the event.

 

RACE 7 – TURELLO STANSARDBREDS PACE – 1720 metres

JOSEY MINT – Held up for clear running in the run to the finish and not fully tested.

NIKALONG MINT – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

NEVERTOOLATE – Held up for clear racing room until the final 100 metres.

DEAD EYE TIKI – Driver A Ward was cautioned on his whip use in the home straight on the final occasion.

BEAUTIFULLY PUT – Held up for clear racing room for the run to the finish and not fully tested.

SPRINGFIELD DESIRE - Held up for clear racing room for the run to the finish and not fully tested.

 

RACE 8 – COBBITTY EQUINE FARM PACE – 1720 metres

BURRABIDINE STORM – Post-race swab sample.

MONDOS REASON – Pre-race blood sample.

AARON MINT – Had a tendency to race roughly under pressure at the 200 metres.
