RACE 1 – ACCESS GROUP SOLUTIONS CLEANING SERVICES PACE – 1609 metres
ROCK N ROLL DOO NZ – Leaving the 600 metres was held up and checked behind the tiring ROYAL DIVISION and subsequently was unable to find clear running until passing the 400 metres.
MAJOR PERRY NZ – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.
ROYAL DIVISION – Raced three wide in the early stages before working forward. When questioned driver H Rixon explained it was her first race drive on the gelding and as soon as the start was affected ROYAL DIVISION over raced significantly therefore she was left with no option but to progress forward. H Rixon added that trainer P Rixon did not want the gelding to be driven aggressively and was surprised that ROYAL DIVISION over raced to the degree it did and will review the geldings gear prior to its next start. ROYAL DIVISION was placed on its last chance to race truly.
OLIVER DAN – Raced three wide in the early and middle stages before working forward to the lead leaving the 1000 metres. Post-race swab samples were obtained.
JEWEL MELODY – Leaving the 1300 metres was tightened by CAULONIA COURAGE which shifted in subsequently JEWEL MELODY then shifted in and placed pressure on SPIRIT OF ARION NZ which had improved quickly to its inside.
CAULONIA COURAGE – Approaching the 1300 metres when racing three wide shifted in to obtain the position on the back of CLASSIC MISSION NZ and in doing so momentarily tightened JEWEL MELODY which caused that runner to be taken in toward SPIRIT OF ARION NZ. Driver R Morris was issued with a reprimand under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that he allowed his runner to shift in when not fully clear of JEWEL MELODY resulting in that runner having to be steadied.
SPIRIT OF ARION NZ – Approaching the 1300 metres switched from the running line to the marker pegs and was driven with vigour to attempt to improve to the inside of JEWEL MELODY. At the same time JEWEL MELODY was tightened then chose to continue to shift in away from CAULONIA COURAGE closing the run available to SPIRIT OF ARION NZ and subsequently that runner had to be steadied and contacted marker pegs. Shortly after the gelding then became unbalanced and broke gait.
SKYLORD – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.
RACE 2 – BESTINBEDS.COM.AU PACE – 2300 metres
OUR UNCLE JIM – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.
SAHARA SIROCCO – Held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.
SINALOA – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.
COSTAL DRIVE – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
ALTA WILLIAM – Re-included in the mobile barrier draw.
RACE 3 – AGNES BANKS EQUINE VET PACE – 2300 metres
OUR LUCIANO – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.
KINGMAN NZ – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
ARDENS ACE NZ – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.
LOYALIST NZ – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines. No abnormalities were detected.
RACE 4 – ALLCOTT THUNDER PACE – 1609 metres
DANCE AND DELIVER – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.
BETTERTHANCHASH NZ – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Post-race swab samples were obtained.
TERRY NZ – Raced three wide in the early stages before working forward.
FIRE FOX NZ – Had difficulty securing clear running until leaving the 100 metres.
SURFERS DELIGHT NZ – It was noted that the gelding cast its off fore plate during the event.
RACE 5 – RACENET DISCOVERY STAKES – 2300 metres
BELLA DANZA – In the early stages of the score up became fractious, got onto the gate early and then got its head caught on the mobile barrier resulting in a false start being declared. A veterinary examination of BELLA DANZA revealed a minor abrasion on the upper lip however was passed fit to take its place in the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no additional findings. No treatment was required.
MIKI TO SUCCESS – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Post-race swab samples were obtained.
ROYAL CRUISER – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Caught wide leaving the back straight on the first occasion then worked forward to the lead near the 2000 metres. Placed under pressure leaving the 400 metres and tired over the final 250 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
RACE 6 – CORDINA CHICKEN FARMS PACE – 1609 metres
ITZBUDDHA NZ – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
MONDELLO BEACH – Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.
CAPTAIN BART – Approaching the 1200 metres became unbalanced and broke gait. A warning was issued.
MONTEFIORE NZ – Leaving the 1200 metres had to be checked away from CAPTAIN BART when that runner broke gait.
MAURLEN BOY – Leaving the 1200 metres had to be checked away from MONTEFIORE NZ which was checked by CAPTAIN BART.
PABLO ROCKS – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.
STAGECOACH – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.
RACE 7 – D M PLUMBING LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres
MY CRACKLING ROSIE – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.
GIPSY PRINCESS – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.
SHEZ THE REASON – Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.
MORE GOODA NZ – Fractious in the early stages of the score up, reared and in doing so swung around facing the opposite direction to the mobile barrier which caused SNOW HUNTER to be checked. A false start was declared. A warning was placed on MORE GOODA NZ.
NOTHINGBUTWAVES – Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.
RACE 8 – NATIONALTROTGUIDE.COM.AU PACE – 2300 metres
CAPTAIN TOM – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.
BARTELLO – Unable to secure clear running in the latter stages of the home straight and was not fully tested.
JIMMY JAMES MAGUIRE NZ – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.
VINKE B NZ – Driver C Hart momentarily dropped his right foot from the sulky rest near 250 metres. Upon review of the official films it was established that C Hart’s right foot was not in the vicinity of the hind leg of VINKE B NZ and given the split second that the foot was away from the sulky rest no direct action was taken.
SHEFFIELD SPARKY NZ – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
