RACE 2 – COBBITTY EQUINE NSW BREEDERS CHALLENGE BLUE – 2yo fillies heat – 1609 metres

WHERES MY REASON – Post-race swab sample.

APPLAUDING – Pre-race blood sample. Trainer Brad Hewitt was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to have the filly’s gear recorded.

OSHLEY – Paced roughly passing the 250 metres when the near side connecting strap malfunctioned.

 

RACE 3 – COBBITTY EQUINE NSW BREEDERS CHALLENGE BLUE – 3YO FILLIES HEAT – 1609 metres

DEAR DARLING – Gave ground over the concluding stages to finish in last placing beaten 55 metres. It was noted the one-legged spreader had become detached over the concluding stages.

DOLLY ROCKET – Post-race swab sample.

WICKED SUSAN – Pre-race blood sample. Trainer Keith McDeed was fined $50 under Rule 210 for failing to declare a driver by the required time.

 

RACE 4 – COBBITTY EQUINE NSW BREEDERS CHALLENGE BLUE – 2YO FILLIES HEAT – 1609 metres

GOT MY EYE ON YOU – Pre-race blood sample. Trainer Sam Hewitt was fined $50 under Rule 210 for failing to declare a driver by the required time. Post-race swab sample.

MINOR PREMIER – Tired over the concluding stages to finish in 7^th placing beaten 58 metres.

 

RACE 5 – COBBITTY EQUINE NSW BREEDERS CHALLENGE BLUE – 2YO COLTS AND GELDINGS HEAT – 1609 metres

AMERIKIN RUNA – Pre-race blood sample. Broke shortly after the start, and in view of the gelding’s recent poor record, will now be placed outside the draw in future mobile start events. Over raced during the early and middle stages.

ONLY ONE REASON – Paced roughly passing the 300 metres.

CAPTAIN PINNACLE – Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 40 metres.

LOUIE KELLY – Trainer Rickie Alcin was fined $50 under Rule 210 for failing to declare a driver by the prescribed time.

PAPIER MACHE – Broke during the score up and was out of position at the start. In view of its recent poor record will now be placed outside the draw in future mobile start events.

THE WICKED WARRIOR – Pre-race blood sample.

AFTERSHOCK – Paced roughly under pressure approaching the 250 metres. A warning was issued.

RACE 7 – COBBITTY EQUINE NSW BREEDERS CHALLENGE BLUE – 3YO FILLIES HEAT – 1609 metres

SHES A WARRAWEE – Driver Cameron Hart was questioned regarding the performance of the filly which finished in 3^rd placing ($1.04 fav). Mr Hart was at a loss to provide any tangible explanation for the performance. A post-race veterinary examination of SHES A WARRAWEE failed to provide any significant findings.

BASILS BLACKSPARRA – Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 47 metres.

TRUE LOGIC – Pre-race blood sample. Galloped out and a warning was issued.

VIOLET HANOVER – Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 8 – COBBITTY EQUINE NSW BREEDERS CHALLENGE BLUE – 2YO COLTS AND GELDINGS HEAT – 1609 metres

STANNUM – Luke McCarthy was permitted as a late driving replacement. Held up inside the final 200 metres. Inconvenienced passing the 100 metres when disappointed for a run between BELIEVE IN DREAMS and NOTHING FINER.

YOUNG NELSON – Tired over the concluding stages, however in view of the fast mile rate (1:51.0), no action was taken.

THE COUNTY SHERIFF – Bailey McDonough was permitted as a late driving replacement.

EVELYNS DRAGON – Driver Jye Coney was questioned in regards to the seemingly improved performance of the gelding. Mr Coney explained in his opinion EVELYNS DRAGON failed to handle the tighter racing circuits, particularly the tighter corners, and accordingly was better suited by the 1400 metre circumference of the Menangle track which he attributed to the faster mile rate today.
