RACE 3 – GOLD CROWN PACEING FOAL PAYMENTS DUE 26 SEPTEMBER PACE – 1730  metres

MULLUM AXEL – Driver Jett Turnbull was question regarding the tactics adopted on the gelding in particular his decision to surrender the lead to TISBURY ROCKS NZ approaching the 1100 metres.  Mr Turnbull explained that recently he had driven MULLUM AXEL in an aggressive manner, however the gelding has failed to finish the race off in a strong manner as evident at Dubbo on 22 August 2025.  Mr Turnbull further added that in surrendering the lead to TISBURY ROCKS NZ he was mindful it was in his view it was the best runner in the race and by doing so he would be trailing a favourable runner and have the opportunity to secure a guaranteed clear run by using the sprint lane over the concluding stages.  Mr Turnbull further added that despite his best efforts MULLUM AXEL was unable to make any ground on TISBURY ROCKS NZ over the concluding stages.

TISBURY ROCKS NZ – Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample.

STAR TIN – Driver Justin Reynolds explained that STAR TIN raced very fiercely passing the 1800 metres and continued to do so until passing the 1500 metres when he was unable to restrain the gelding any longer and consequently he allowed STAR TIN to progress forward three wide.  Mr Reynolds added that upon improving three wide STAR TIN then commenced to race somewhat greenly and failed to continue to improve forward as expected.  Mr Reynolds further explained that STAR TIN racing fiercely during the early stages told on the gelding over the concluding stages.  Given the racing manners of STAR TIN, and the subsequent effect this had on the gelding’s overall performance, Mr Reynolds was advised that STAR TIN must trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.  A post-race veterinary examination of STAR TIN failed to reveal any significant findings.

LLANFAIR ROCKY – Paced roughly during the score up and was out of position at the start and will now be placed outside the draw in future mobile start events.  Broke clear of interference passing the 400 metres and will now be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of Stewards.
