RACE 1 – STUART VALENTINE BLOODSTOCK INSURANCE PACE – 2260 metres

WINDY HILL LUCY – Hung out in the early stages of the score up, as a result MITTYS THREE ACES NZ was checked and broke stride.

MITTYS THREE ACES NZ – Checked and broke stride in the early stages of the score up as a result of WINDY HILL LUCY hanging out.

SPRING DELIGHT – Post-race swab sample.

ZACHARY SHANNON – Pre-race blood sample.

GABBYS SPORTSTAR – A Pre and post race veterinary examination as the gelding has had over 200 race starts. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.

TEARIN UP THE SAND – Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 2 – BARKERS BUTCHERY MEAT RAY RAFFLE ON TONIGHT PACE – 2260 metres

TAPAGANOOSH – Inconvenienced at the 150 metres as a result of SEASIDER shifting out under pressure.

KADAR – Held up for clear racing room and inconvenienced when SEASIDER was being corrected back down the track.

FLIPTOP BOTTLESHOP – Broke stride when being shifted down to the sprint lane in the home straight on the final occasion. A warning was issued.

TERRYRAMA - A Pre and post race veterinary examination as the gelding has had over 200 race starts. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.

MIKE ROSS NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

SEASIDER – Driver I Ross was questioned on the tactics adopted on the gelding and the overall performance when placed under pressure over the final 400 metres gave ground to finish in 7th position beaten 29.6 metres. Miss Ross stated the tempo in the early stages was very fast with numerous lead changes and when being caught outside the leader she elected to work forward to the lead although not being a suitable position for the gelding. When gaining some respite in the middle stages the gelding failed to respond when placed under pressure over the final 400 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be 2/5 lame in the off foreleg and as a result was stood down until the receipt of a veterinary certificate of clearance. As a result of the vet findings no action was taken against Miss Ross other than advise her drive in a manner that is of no concern to the stewards.

 

 RACE 3 – POSTER BOY STANDING AT LLOWALONG FARMS PACE – 1730 metres

DELIGHTFUL STAR NZ – Post-race swab sample.

BARLOUR HEAVEN – Raced roughly racing under pressure at the 100 metres. A warning was issued.

TENACIOUSLY – Pre-race blood sample.

BETTORLIGHTEM UP – Declared a late scratching at 12.13pm on veterinary advice.

 

RACE 4 – BCIT SOLUTIONS PACE – 1730 metres

CHEEKY KISS – Pre-race blood sample.

NOSAER – Driver J Turnbull was questioned on the gelding’s overall performance which tired over the concluding stages to finish in 10th and last position beaten 49.8 metres. He stated he had a short challenge for the lead and when unable to obtain the position raced at the saddle cloth of SHEZ SWEET LOUISE NZ and believed he was applying no pressure to that runner although the tempo of the race continued to be fast, then when placing his runner under pressure at the 500 metres NOSAER failed to respond, tiring out of the event. His comments were noted.

RACE 5 – BREED YOUR MARE AT SUCCESS STUD PACE – 1730 metres

The start of this race was delayed for approximately 5 minutes to allow SAINT VERAN to leave the track to have broken gear replaced. Due to the delay the race was transferred to Sky Racing 2.

PABLO ROCKS – Sulky was contacted at the 1300 metres when racing to the inside of KICK THE SWITCH which was hanging in. Driver J Coney was questioned on the gelding’s overall performance where it failed to run on over the final 400 metres to finish in 10th and last position beaten 42.6 metres. He stated with the long delay prior to the start PABLE ROCKS became very stirred up and may have run his race prior to the event. He further added the gelding never travelled comfortably at all throughout the event and was beaten a long way from home. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

KICK THE SWITCH – Hung in between the 1400 metres and 1300 metres and as a result contacted the sulky wheel of PABLO ROCKS and raced roughly for a short distance. A warning was issued.

MY CRACKLING ROSIE – Driver B Hewitt was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when entering the first turn he has shifted his runner down to the marker line when insufficiently clear of WINDY HILL TARA and as a result that runner was momentarily tightened. B Hewitt was questioned on the mare’s overall performance where she failed to run on over the final 300 metres to finish in 7th position beaten 14.2 metres. He stated with the tempo being reasonably fast the mare failed to respond when being placed under pressure in the run to the finish. He further added Trainer S Hewitt has been disappointed with the mare`s performance  in recent starts.

WINDY HILL TARA – Pre-race blood sample. Negotiating the first turn was momentarily tightened as a result of MY CRACKLING ROSIE shifting down the track.

 

 

RACE 6 – HRNSW GUARANTEED LADYSHIP PACE – 2260 metres

WARRAWEE FLYER – Pre-race blood sample.

AUNTIE LOU – Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 7 – MOORHEAD CRANES PACE – 2260 metres

TRUE LOGIC – Post-race swab sample.

YARRAMAN KAYLOU – Broke stride shortly after the start. The mare will be given its last chance in the mobile barrier draw in future starts. Driver B Hewitt was questioned on the overall performance of the mare which tired out of the event to finish in 10th and last position beaten 46.5 metres. He stated after breaking stride in the early stages of the race , when racing at the tail the field he tried to  restrain the mare but she resisted being restrained  and began to over racing so he  elected to work forward three wide and obtain the position outside the lead where YARRAMAN KAYLOU failed to settle, when placed under pressure over the concluding stages failed to respond.

RACE 8 – BATHURST RSL 2YO PACE – 1730 metres

HASHTAG HECTOR – Checked shortly after the start as a result of MINOR PREMIER shifting down the track when insufficiently clear. It was noted the gelding had a tendency to hung out prior to being checked.

MINOR PREMIER – Driver H Ross was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that shortly after the start he has shifted his runner down the track when insufficiently clear of HASHTAG HECTOR and as a result that runner was checked. In not taking more severe action against Mr Ross’s drivers licence, the racing manners of HASHTAG HECTOR were noted. At the request of connection’s, the filly will be placed back in the mobile barrier draw.

RACE 9 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1730 metres

MAKES YOU WONDER - A Pre and post race veterinary examination as the gelding has not started for over 12 months. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.
