RACE 1 – BIRD YARD BIG BAND @ CLUB PACEWAY SEPT 7 PACE – 1720 metres
FOR ALWAYS ARDEN NZ – Became unbalanced and galloped on the first occasion resulting in a false start being declared. Driver S Grima was found guilty of a charge under rule 162(1)(d) for delaying the start in that during the score up on the first occasion he has failed to restrain his horse and maintain a straight course and as a result interfered with TIL HEAVENS ROCKN NZ resulting in a false start being declared. Mr Grima was fined $200. Post-race swab sample.
THE DEVILS FLAME – Pre-race blood sample.
DOUBLE IT HARRY – Trainer K Morris was fined $50 under rule 210 for failing to declare T Miles as the driver by the prescribed time.
OKAY GRINGO – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1400 metres.
RIO DE JANEIRO BLUE NZ – Contacted the outside fence following the event when being eased down. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a wound above its left eye. In view of the veterinary findings RIO DE JANEIRO BLUE NZ was stood down for a period of seven days.
RACE 2 – VINTAGE FM PACE – 1720 metres
BETTING STAR – Post-race swab sample.
MADAZALWAYS – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1300 metres.
CHARLIES ACE NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
PETES BIG JIM – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1400 metres
GIMME A REASON – Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
DILETTO – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.
RACE 3 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 2125 metres
SUPER DUPER DUDE NZ – Stewards questioned driver C Hart in relation to the performance of the gelding when failing to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 14.8 metres and finished in ninth position ($1.85 fav). Mr Hart explained that he was not disappointed in the performance of the gelding and noted the gelding did not appear to appreciate the pressure that was applied to his runner from KATES VIRTUE passing the 400 metres. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
YESNOMAYBESO – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.
LORD MEMNOCK – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until obtaining a position in the running line passing the 1900 metres. Raced roughly leaving the 800 metres and commenced to hang in from that point and made contact with a number of marker pegs and failed to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 15.5 metres and finishing in last position. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
AMERICAN WEREWOLF – Improved three wide from the 1800 metres until obtaining the position outside of the leader passing the 1400 metres.
FLO RYDA NZ – Post-race swab sample.
EYE CAN TRY – Pre-race blood sample. Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
KATES VIRTUE – Improved three wide from the 1400 metres until obtaining the position outside of the leader passing the 1200 metres.
RACE 4 – FATHERS DAY LUNCH @ CLUB PACEWAY PACE – 1720 metres
BOYZHAVTIME NZ – Placed in restricted room approaching the 1000 metres when NOTHINGBUTWAVES was shifted down the track without the required clearance.
OURTREACHEROUS REIGN NZ – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.
DONTLETFEARSTOPYA NZ – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1400 metres.
RED SAPPHIRE – Pre-race blood sample. Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader approaching the 1400 metres. Post-race swab sample.
CAPTAIN BLOOD – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.
NOTHINGBUTWAVES – Improved three wide from the 1300 metres until obtaining the position outside of the leader passing the 1000 metres. Driver R Morris was issued a reprimand under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that approaching the 1000 metres he has shifted NOTHINGBUTWAVES down the track without the required clearance over BOYZHAVTIME NZ and as a result that runner was placed in restricted room for a short distance.
IM DESIRABLE – Raced three wide during the early stages until obtaining the position outside of the leader passing the 1200 metres. Hampered passing the 1000 metres when being taken wider after NOTHINGBUTWAVES was unsuccessful when shifting down the track and as a result IM DESIREABLE improved three wide until obtaining the position outside of the leader approaching the 800 metres. Stewards questioned driver C Masotti in relation to the racing manners of the mare when over racing when positioned outside of the leader and the overall performance of the mare when being beaten 12.2 metres finishing in sixth position. Ms Masotti explained that the mare over raced during the early stages of the event when positioned outside of the leader significantly when contacting its own sulky. Ms Masotti explained that the mare has been racing around the Bathurst track of recent times and as a result of the tighter turns contacted its own sulky. Ms Masotti explained that going forward they would look to adjust the sulky further.
RACE 5 – CAPITAL CORPORATION PACE – 2125 metres
KING TIGER – Post-race swab sample.
PELIGROSO – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion.
POLLY PUT KETTLEON – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the mare not having competed in the previous 12 months. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination. Became unbalanced and galloped during the score up, out of position at the start and took no competitive part in the event for which a warning was issued.
TOMAHAWK BART – Pre-race blood sample. Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion.
JORDY NZ – Improved three wide from the 1250 metres until obtaining the position outside of the leader passing the 1100 metres.
RACE 6 – FLICK PEST CONTROL PACE – 1720 metes
EYEKNOW – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
LEAVE IT TO LUCY – Raced three wide in the early stages until obtaining the position outside of the leader passing the 1200 metres.
RACE 7 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1720 metres
GENERAL MISCONDUCT – Pre-race blood sample. Became unbalanced and galloped shortly after entering the first turn and shifted out and made contact with the sulky of HELLOVATIME. As this was the filly’s first race start GENERAL MISCONDUCT was stood down until it completes one requalifying trial.
ROCK WITH THE BEST – Post-race swab sample.
TIGER EUPHEME – Raced three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1200 metres.
FOR THREE REASONS – Checked and galloped shortly after entering the first turn when avoiding the galloping GENERAL MISCONDUCT.
HELLOVATIME – Checked shortly after entering the first turn and made contact with the sulky wheel of GENERAL MISCONDUCT when that runner was galloping. As a result of the contact driver S Piltz was momentarily unseated from the sulky.
MIGHT AND VICTORY – Pre-race blood sample. Checked shortly after entering the first turn when avoiding the galloping GENERAL MISCONDUCT.
CHARJO – Checked shortly after entering the first turn when avoiding the galloping GENERAL MISCONDUCT.
RACE 8 – AUSSIE NIGHTMARKETS @ PENRITH SHOWGROUND SEPT 14 2YO PACE – 1720 metres
MIDNIGHT HAZE – Checked behind the weakening MERRYWOOD LOU between the 700 and 500 metres.
BETWEEN DECKS – Trainer K Morris was fined $50 under rule 268A(1) for failing to lodge a gear form for the gelding.
MERRYWOOD LOU – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1450 metres. Stewards questioned driver V Duncan in relation to the performance and tractability of the gelding when failing to run on from the 700 metres to be beaten 102.4 metres and finished in last position. Mr Duncan explained that the intentions during the early stages were to restrain the gelding however the gelding over raced significantly which was uncharacteristic of the gelding and felt this was detrimental to its performance over the concluding stages. In view of the gelding’s disappointing performance MERRYWOOD LOU was stood down until it completes one requalifying trial. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
NOCTURNAL – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the lead passing the 1200 metres. Post-race swab sample.
SENTOSAR – Pre-race blood sample. Improved three wide from the 800 metres to race without cover for the remainder of the event.
INSIDE MAGIC – Trainer K Morris was fined $50 under rule 268A(1) for failing to lodge a gear form for the gelding.
A BUCK TEN – Over raced during the event. Improved three wide from the 800 metres and raced without cover for the remainder of the event.
DYNAMITE DANNI – Became unbalanced and galloped during the score up and was out of position at the start for which the filly will continue to be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.
