RACE 1 – BARASTOC PACE – 1609 metres
NOWORRIES – Slow to begin.
BETTOR BE LUCKY – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations. Hung in during the early stages.
THE MALDIVES – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations. Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
RACE 2 – JOHN HUNTER CHILDRES HOSPITAL KIDS CLUB PACE – 1609 metres
OUR ULTIMATE LEXI – Post-race swab sample.
EXECUTIVEDECISIONS – Raced roughly for a short distance passing the 500 metres.
NEVER KNOW REASON – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations. Could not be driven into position at the start and was slow away. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the filly’s racing record.
THE KARMA KING – Pre-race blood sample.
ROREY JAY – Following required satisfactory performance, connections were advised that the colt would now be eligible to take its place in the mobile barrier draw.
YOU ARE MY WISH – Broke stride free of any external factors entering the home straight, galloped and was eventually restrained out of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the colt was 3/5 lame in the near hind leg and was treated on course by the club's veterinary officer. Connections are advised that prior to racing again, YOU ARE MY WISH must undergo a veterinary examination to determine its fitness, then perform competitively in an official qualifying trial.
RACE 3 – SLICK CHICKS PACE – 1609 metres
HALLOWEEN – Pre-race blood sample.
CALCULATING DANCER – Hampered for a short distance near the 1200 metres when racing behind SPECIALIZE LOU, when that runner broke stride. When questioned in relation to the performance driver A. Bourke explained that he had intended to obtain cover after the start as the gelding had run its best races recently when driven in that fashion. He said that after obtaining a position on the marker peg line and being hampered by SPECIALIZE LOU in the early stages CALCULATING DANCER travelled relatively well, however when placed under pressure inside the 600 metres, was unresponsive and weakened in the run to the finish. He said that he attributed this to the gelding having not raced since 28/8/25 and it lacked race fitness. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.
SLINGSHOT – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations. Post-race swab sample.
SPECIALIZE LOU – Broke stride free of any external factors near the 1200 metres and galloped. Trainer/driver Miss G Panella was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding's racing record.
RACE 4 – COCA COLA PACE – 1609 metres
EYE IN THE SKY – Post-race swab sample.
SHALAMAR MISS – Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 5 – PITCHER PARTNERS PACE – 1609 metres
GALVARINO – Pre-race blood sample.
SEAMARK NZ – Raced roughly for a short distance during the score up. When questioned in relation to the performance, driver J Meikle explained, that the gelding pulled hard during the early stages when racing outside the lead without cover and was difficult to restrain. He said that even after being crossed by IRE OF THE DRAGON approaching the winning post with a lap remaining, SEAMARK continued to over race and would not settle. He said that when placed under pressure inside the 500 metres the gelding was unresponsive and ran to the finish in a disappointing manner, which he attributed to its tendency to over race in the early and middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.
DE LA RENTA NZ – Unable to obtain clear running at any stage in the home straight and went to the finish without being tested.
WATCH ME REACT – Post-race swab sample.
SMOOTH ROLLING – Raced in restricted room in the home straight and could not be driven with full vigour.
RACE 6 – PSC INSURANCE PACE – 1609 metres
ANTETOKOUNMPO – Post-race swab sample.
CAPTAIN DORIAN – Raced in restricted room in the home straight and could not be fully tested.
CLASSIC ARC – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations.
STICK MAN NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 7 – SHARP OFFICE PACE – 1609 metres
SHARK DANCER – When questioned in relation to the performance driver S Piltz explained, that he had intended to lead if possible however after being driven with vigour to achieve this at the start, he was unable to match the pace shown by CHEDDAR VALLEY NZ to his inside and ABDICATE NZ which crossed from outside him. He said that after this he had opted to restrain and obtain a position on the marker pegs, however approaching the turn after the start SUNDAY MORNINGS improved to his inside which left him racing further back than intended, then when ABDICATE NZ eased outside the leader he was obliged to steady for some distance. After this, TWO TRICKS NZ improved to his outside which precluded him from shifting wider to go forward, which resulted in him being continually steadied to the rear of the field. He said that he shifted into a three wide position inside the 500 metres and placed his drive under pressure and after gaining a good response he was obliged to remain in a wide position however SHARK DANCER ran to the finish relatively well.
ABDICATE NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
SERGEI – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations.
RIVERA LOU – Post-race swab sample.
RACE 8 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1609 metres
JEFFCOATE – Pre-race blood sample.
ADDOCAR – Broke stride free of any external factors near the 300 metres and galloped. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.
WILLS WAY – When questioned in relation to the performance driver R Morris explained. that he had intended to lead if possible and drove vigorously after the start to achieve this. He said that approaching the home straight on the first occasion WILLS WAY had been under pressure for some distance to cross ADDOCAR, however ADDOCAR could not be restrained by its driver and at this point he was obliged to cease his challenge for the lead and he restrained. He said that shortly after this SPUNKYS GOTSECRETS improved in a three wide position on his outside and at that stage of the race he felt he was obliged to go forward with that runner and after gaining an initial response approaching the 500 metres WILLS WAY weakened thereafter and was unable to improve. Mr Morris attributed this to the effort that was expended in the early and middle stages when attempting to obtain the lead. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.
SPUNKYS GOTSECRETS – Driver B Hughes was fined $50 under AR 162(1)(h), for failing to maintain his position at the start.
PAYTONS ROCK NZ – Post-race swab sample.
