STEALTH BOMBA NZ – Raced in restricted room rounding the home turn, then was held up for some distance in the early part of the home straight and unable to be driven forward.

ROCK FISHERMAN – Checked and broke 250m.
RACE 6 – GARRARDS HORSE AND HOUND PACE – 2030 metres
MY ULTIMATE COSSIE – Pre-race blood sample. When questioned in relation to the tactics adopted in the early and middle stages driver G Bond explained, that it was his intention to lead if unchallenged. He said that after establishing the lead entering the back straight on the first occasion BEANCOUNTER applied continual pressure racing on his outside and after attempting to stave off that challenge he was unable to hold the lead and entering the home straight on the first occasion eased to allow BEANCOUNTER to cross. He said that after this the gelding travelled well behind the lead and he had hoped to improve around BEANCOUNTER approaching the 400 metres, however OUR ART CHRISTIAN NZ raced on his outside at that stage then after this, when OUR ART CHRISTIAN NZ began to weaken he was still unable to shift away from the marker pegs completely, due to KATLAS DREAM assuming the position that was vacated by OUR ART CHRISTIAN NZ. He said that he raced in restricted room because of this rounding the home turn, then when KATLAS DREAM improved forward of him at the entrance to the home straight, he was able to shift out in an effort to obtain clear running, however was continually held up and went to the finish without being fully tested.
WAR WESTERN – Post-race swab sample.
ELOUISA DALE NZ – Pulled hard during the early and middle stages.
WALLAROY BOY – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations.
NIFTY STUDLEIGH – Passed required pre- and post-race veterinary examinations.
RACE 7 – AVE TECHNOLOGIES PACE – 2030 metres
FEISTY TIGER – Pre-race blood sample.
LETMEBECLEAR – Unresponsive when placed under pressure inside the 400 metres, weakened quickly and was distanced. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality. Connections were advised that prior to racing again LETMEBECLEAR must perform competitively in an official qualifying trial.
MISTER BRILLANTE – Post-race swab sample.
PEPPERCORN BARRY – Trainer/driver Mr M Dawson was found guilty of a charge under AR 168(1)(a), stating that after entering the back straight on the first occasion when shifting from the running line to take a position on the marker pegs, he did so when insufficiently clear of DRIVING MISS MOLLY, resulting in DRIVING MISS MOLLY’S off fore leg striking the inside sulky wheel of PEPPERCORN BARRY, resulting in that tyre going flat and PEPPERCORN BARRY being disadvantaged for the remainder of the race. Mr Dawson was fined $200.
RACE 8 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1609 metres
MYGIRLVENUS – Broke stride free of any external factors during the score up and galloped which caused a false start. Connections were advised that the mare would now be placed outside the mobile barrier draw. Weakened noticeably inside the 400 metres and lost considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality. Trainer/driver M T Ison was further advised that prior to racing again MYGIRLVENUS must perform competitively in an official qualifying trial.
JANELLE MAY – Pre-race blood sample.
KEAYANG HARLOW – Hung in during the early stages and shifted in approaching the turn after the start despite the efforts of its driver, which resulted in MYGIRLVENUS being crowded and contacting marker pegs. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing record.
ROCKIN MISS REGINA – Post-race swab sample.
MISS ADONIS – Hampered and carried in at the entrance to the home straight on the first occasion when racing tight on the inside of GOLDNGLITZ, which shifted in when not quite clear. Subsequently J Bond the trainer/driver of GOLDNGLITZ was reprimanded under AR 163(1)(a)(iii).
