RACE 1 – FIRST PAST THE POST ESSJAY PHOTOGRAPHY PACE– 1700 metres
BRAEDIE WEARS RED – Pre-race swab.
PIPPAS LITTLE GEM – Trainer Amanda Turnbull was fined the sum of $50 under AHR Rule 268A(1) for presenting the filly wearing gear which was incorrectly declared.
CHICSVILLE – ($51.00) Trainer/driver Stephen Cooper was queried into the tactics adopted upon the mare in particular his decision to challenge for the lead from the start until racing into the back straight on the first occasion of the event prior to the mare yielding ground from the 700m to finish in 9th and last position beaten 62.1m. Mr Cooper advised after showing initial gait speed he was able to gain a slight advantage over PIPPAS LITTLE GEM which was to his inside entering the first turn however after rounding the turn PIPPAS LITTLE GEM was able to improve through and maintain the lead at which point he raced on level terms with prior to taking hold of CHICSVILLE. Mr Cooper advised he attempted to ease CHICSVILLE to obtain the position behind PIPPAS LITTLE GEM entering the back straight on the first occasion however was unsuccessful in doing when BRAEDIE WEARS RED was able to muster through and hold that position & he then took hold of CHICSVILLE to allow the mare some respite after going through the first quarter in 28.9 seconds and was caught racing without cover throughout the event. Upon consideration of the explanation tendered by Mr Copper & review of the available replays Stewards advised he had erred in his tactics in challenging for a forward position particularly on the exposed trial form of the mare which suggested the mare could not sustain such pressure applied and be competitive Stewards advised Mr Cooper they would not expect to see CHICSVILLE driven such a manner going forward until the mare is more competitive in its races. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. CHICSVILLE will now be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of stewards on one (1) occasion. Driver Stephen Cooper pleaded guilty to a charge under AHR Rule 156(2)(a) in that passing the 650m he applied the whip to the mare with a free hand without holding a rein in each hand on two (2) occasions. Mr Cooper was fined the sum of $200. Mr Cooper was further minded of the manner in which he manoeuvred his head from the 1400m to the 700m towards ALWAYS BE LUCKY which was racing in close proximity when pulling hard despite its driver’s efforts.
ALWAYS BE LUCKY – Pulled hard during the early and middle stages of the event despite the drivers efforts.
CAITRIONA – Trainer Mat Rue was fined the sum of $50 under AHR Rule 268A(1) for presenting the filly wearing gear which was incorrectly declared.

EL FRANCO DE – Post-race swab.
JEWEL HEAVEN – Pre-race swab.
BAM BAM BROOK – ($10.00) Trainer/driver Olivia Frisby was queried into the seemingly poor performance of the gelding which finished in 7th position beaten 42.5m after racing outside the leader throughout the event. Ms Frisby advised the gelding to be disappointing and contributed the performance to a combination of the gelding being caught racing without cover throughout the event & the gelding failing to back up from its most recent start four (4) days prior at Bathurst and it would be her intentions to space the runs of the gelding going forward. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
LA CAVALLETTA – ($1.20 Fav) Trainer/driver Jackson Painting was queried into overall performance of the gelding which finished in 3rd position beaten 12.6m after leading for majority of the event. Mr Painting advised the gelding to be disappointing. Mr Painting added he had altered the workload of LA CAVALLETTA after recording a quick mile rate of 1.52.0 at Wagga on the 29th August 2025 and the gelding having two (2) weeks between runs since its most recent start on the 12th September 2025 until today. Mr Painting added LA CAVALLETTA may possibly have an underlying issue, and it would be his intentions to have blood samples obtained from the gelding in the coming days which he would report to stewards. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a delayed recovery and elevated respiratory rate.
STAR CONNECTION – Began badly as the start was effected. A warning was issued against the barrier manners of STAR CONNECTION.
RACE 3 – HEIFER STATION WINES – CANOLA CUP HEATS DAY PACE – 1700 metres
General: Stewards considered a protest lodged by Graham Betts, the driver of the 2nd placed IRK MCGLURK against the 1st placed TARAMIN (Jye Coney) with the grounds of the protest being interference inside the final 400m. On review of the evidence of both drivers Stewards found that passing the 400m Mr Coney directed TARAMIN from a running line position to a three (3) wide position when racing wheel to wheel of IRK MCGLURK forcing that runner wider on the track. Mr Coney continue to shift IRK MCGLURK wider up the track whilst wheel to wheel prior to straightening. TARAMIN shifted wider on the track inside the final 100m however without impeding the progress IRK MCGLURK. Stewards acknowledged the movement of Mr Coney from the 400m was always wheel to wheel of IRK MCGLURK and had not caused that runner any interference & his shift was within the perimeters of the AHR Rules. Stewards were fully satisfied upon straightening both horses were able to be fully driven out to the finish without any contact between both runners. Although acknowledging the shift of TARAMIN inside the final 100m Stewards were unable to find that such interference had an effect as to the finishing positions noting the manner that both runners found the line and the half head margin and therefore the protest was dismissed and all-clear announced on the judge’s numbers.
TARAMIN – Shifted outwards under pressure inside the final 100m. Withstood protest. Post-race swab.
CRYSTAL BLING – ($2.15 Fav) Trainer/driver Phoebe Betts was queried into the overall performance of the gelding which finished in 6th position beaten 15.8m after leading. Ms Betts advised the gelding to be disappointing & could offer no tangible explanation for the performance. A warning was issued against the gelding racing manners for hanging inwards passing the 400m and contacting marker pegs.
IRK MCGLURK – Pre-race swab. Lodged protest 2nd versus 1st dismissed.

PLAYBOI ROY will now be placed right outside the draw in future mobile start events. Yielded ground rapidly from the 500m to finish in 10th and last position beaten 108m. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. PLAYBOI ROY will now be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of stewards on one (1) occasion due to its poor & unruly manners.
RACE 8 – SCOPE CLOTHING GRENFELL / EUGOWRA CANOLA CUP HEAT 4 – 2100 metres
General: The start of this event was delayed one (1) minute to avoid a clash with an international Thoroughbred race.
JESSIE LEE – Pre-race swab
ELITE GEORGE – ($12.00) Driver Jye Coney was queried into the tactics adopted upon the gelding in particular if he gave consideration to direct the gelding from a three (3) marker peg position into the running line in advance of DENVER COLORADO which commenced a forward move approaching the 800m prior to ELITE GEORGE being held up during the early stages of the home turn and shifting into clear running to finish in 3rd position beaten 19.6m. Mr Coney advised he did give consideration in directing the gelding in advanced of DENVER COLORADO however elected to remain along the marker line as he felt the leader SWEET ON LEXY was only setting a moderated speed during the first half of the mile in 63.6 seconds and the speed of the event would increase dramatically over the final 800m & was confident JESSIE LEE which whom he was following would be able to maintain its position following the leader and DENVER COLORADO would be placed under pressure from the 400m and he would have sufficient time & room to direct the gelding into the event. However, when the leader SWEET ON LEXY failed to quicken as expected during the third quarter of 29.5 seconds DENVER COLORADO was able to maintain its position and progress forward of ELITE GEORGE and JESSIE LEE failing to hold its position ELITE GEORGE had to be restrained to be directed wider on the track passing the 300m. Mr Coney added he felt ELITE GEORGE was able to be directed into clear running in sufficient time and given full opportunity in the home straight. Upon consideration of the explanation tendered by Mr Coney & review of the available replays Stewards felt Mr Coney had erred slightly in not taking the opportunity to shift wider passing the 800m however the tactics employed was not fully unreasonable in the circumstances and Stewards took the matter no further.
SWEET ON LEXY – Post-race swab.
