RACE 1 – TINTIN IN AMERICA @ WINGATE FARM PACE – 1609 metres
DOUBLE ACT – Leaving the 350 metres had to be steadied away from BETTERTHANCASH NZ and DOM TORETTO NZ when those runners locked wheels.
OUR VINCENT CAN GOGH NZ – Passing the 350 metres was hampered by BETTERTHANCASH NZ and DOM TORETTO NZ when those runners locked wheels. Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.
BETTERTHANCASH NZ – Leaving the 400 metres locked wheels with DOM TORETTO NZ when that runner laid in and subsequently BETTERTHANCASH NZ was inconvenienced.
DOM TORETTO NZ – Leaving the 400 metres laid in and engaged sulky wheels with BETTERTHANCASH NZ resulting in both runners being severely hampered.
MIKI PINS NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
BEACH BALL NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
RIPP – Had difficulty securing clear running until passing the 100 metres.
HI MYNAMEISJEFF NZ – Post-race swab sample.
RACE 2 – BESTINBEDS.COM.AU PACE – 1609 metres
FRANCO TYSON -Pre-race blood sample.
CLASSIC MISSION NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
RACE 3 – CLUB MENANGLE, MENANGLE PARK TROTTERS CUP (GROUP 3) – 2300 metres
MALIBUU – Jumped sideways at the start.
MACHO MAN – Had to be steadied away from MALIBUU when that runner shifted out at the start.
RAKERO BLAZE NZ – Reared at the start and broke gait for a considerable distance and took no competitive part in the event. RAKERO BLAZE NZ will continue to be excluded from the standing start barrier draw.
JUNGLE EYES – Broke gait at the start and will continue to be excluded from the standing start barrier draw.
SHEETWEB WEAVER – Post-race swab sample.
SUNNY GEE – Broke gait at the start and will continue to be excluded from the standing start barrier draw.
PARISIAN ARTISTE – Pre-race blood sample.
GUS NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Stood flat footed at the start and broke gait for a short distance. A warning was issued.
IM BOBBY – Worked forward in the early stages. Leaving the 600 metres was under pressure and commenced to weaken. IM BOBBY tired over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an elevated heart rate. Driver A Turnbull explained that she thought the lead may be available and after a brief challenge leaving the 1600 metres she steadied IM BOBBY to race outside of the leader. A Turnbull added the tempo never slowed and her runner was slightly over racing. A Turnbull said that passing the 1400 metres IM BOBBY was inclined to hang in and continued to hang in under pressure from the 600 metres which was unexpected. Trainer E Tappe explained he was disappointed with the gelding’s performance despite the fact he raced without cover. He said the gelding is accustomed to racing without cover in fast run races and he expected IM BOBBY to finish the race off. He added that he would assess how IM BOBBY recovers in the days subsequent as he was concerned with the elevated heart race post race. E Tappe said that he would now freshen up IM BOBBY prior to its next start.
RACE 4 – NATIONALTROTGUIDE.COM.AU LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres
CLASSIC ELEGANCE NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
ONYX SHARD NZ – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
FARFELLA STRIDE – When questioned regarding the improved performance of FARFELLA STRIDE relative to its most recent start, Driver C Formosa explained that prior to its most recent start the filly had been racing well and the tempo at its most recent start was stop start which did not suit FARFELLA STRIDE. She added that on the 22nd September FARFELLA STRIDE had no luck in running and lost its momentum at critical times. C Formosa said that in tonight’s event she did not do any work after the start and was able to take up a favourable position in the running line. Then the first quarter was run quickly and the third quarter was also run at a fast tempo which proved to be beneficial. C Formosa’s explanation was noted. Post-race swab sample.
NOTHINGBUTWAVES – Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 5 – SUCCESS STUD EQUINE BREEDING PACE – 2300 metres
ITZBUDDHA NZ – Broke gait during the score up for a short distance and a warning was issued.
COASTAL DRIVE – Post-race swab sample.
ALTA MAGACIAN NZ – Leaving the 700 metres commenced to give ground and tired significantly over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Driver R Morris explained that immediately after the event he was concerned with ALTA MAGACIAN’S heart rhythm however acknowledged that the gelding appeared to recover relatively well once back in the race day stalls. Connections were advised ALTA MAGACIAN NZ would be stood down for a period of 7 days and until it can complete one satisfactory official trial for what was deemed to be an unsatisfactory performance.

RACE 6 – HYLAND HARNESS FULL SUITS PACE – 1609 metres
Driver W Rixon lodged a protest on behalf of the connections of fourth placed LETS TURN IT ON against third placed LUVARESCHS alleging interference in the home straight. After considering all available evidence it was established that near the 200 metres LUVARESCHS shifted out slightly under pressure at which time LETS TURN IT ON attempted to improve to its inside. LUVARESCHS immediately shifted back in. Then from that point until nearing the 75 metres LUVARESCHS raced inside the line of LETS TURN IT ON. Approaching the 50 metres LUVARESCHS was restrained and shifted out around EL CAMINO affording LETS TURN IT ON a full unimpeded run to the finish, however LUVARESCHS was finishing better than LETS TURN IT ON at the finish and drew away from that runner. Subsequently the protest was dismissed and all clear given on the judge’s numbers of 4 – 1 – 2 – 3.
LUVARESCHS – Withstood protest.
LETS TURN IT ON – Pre-race blood sample. Inconvenienced approaching the 100 metres when racing tight to the inside of LUVARESCHS.
LIEUTENANT ARDEN NZ – Post-race swab sample.
BALTUSROL – Passing the 1300 metres shifted in when not quite clear of SKITTLE BOMB NZ resulting in that runner having to be steadied. Driver Peter McRae was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii).
SKITTLE BOMB NZ – Approaching the 1300 metres had to steady away from BALTUSROL which shifted in.
IM DUSTEE – Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 7 – FARMERS JOES CHICKEN PACE – 1609 metres
CAULONIA COURAGE – Pre-race blood sample.
TERRY NZ – Post-race swab sample.
FIRE FOX NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Near the 1400 metres had to be steadied when UNFAZED shifted in.
JILLIBY FABIO – Unable to secure clear running until the latter stages of the event and was not fully tested.
RACE 8 – MENANGLE PARK COMMUNITY PACE – 2300 metres
CORBIE STUMBLER – Pre-race blood sample.
CAPTAIN BLOOD – Approaching the 1200 metres sustained a flat offside tyre.
DUKES CHOICE – Post race swab sample.
JORDY NZ – Had to be steadied as a result of the reduction of the tempo in the running line approaching the 1200 metres and shifted in.
HES A MEISTER NZ – Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.
OUTSIDE FIGHTER – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW guidelines. No abnormalities were detected. Near the 1200 metres was momentarily placed in restricted room by JORDY NZ which shifted in and as a result OUTSIDE FIGHTER had to be steadied and also shifted in.
ONEHANDONEBOUNCE – Pre-race blood sample. Near the 1200 metres when attempting to improve to the inside of OUTSIDE FIGHTER had to be steadied when that runner shifted in.
