RACE 1 – ACCESS GROUP SOLUTIONS INTEGRATED SERVICES TROTTERS MOBILE – 2300 metres
RIOTERRA – Held up behind the tiring ONE PINEVALE HILL leaving the 600 metres and severely hampered by that runner until approaching the 400 metres.
ITS ALL RIGHT NOW – Inclined to hang in throughout the event and gave ground leaving the 800 metres to be beaten 97 metres. Trainer/driver H James explained that the filly at this stage of her career is not suited to the longer distance of today’s event and he would look to find a more suitable distance for her next start. ITS ALL RIGHT NOW was stood down from racing until it can complete one satisfactory trial for what was deemed to be an unsatisfactory performance.
ONE PINEVALE HILL – Commenced to weaken approaching the 600 metres and gave ground, raced roughly and contacted marker pegs passing the 400 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Trainer’s representative A Towers explained that the mare was in season however he was disappointed with today’s performance particularly given her recent win. Connections were advised that ONE PINEVALE HILL will be stood down from racing until it can complete one satisfactory trial for what was deemed to be an unsatisfactory performance.
IN HIGH PLACE – Leaving the 500 metres was hampered by SIOUX WARRIOR.
SIOUX WARRIOR – Passing the 500 metres was checked by ITS ALL RIGHT NOW and ONE PINEVALE HILL which were both giving ground.
KISS AT MIDNIGHT – Shortly after the start became unbalanced and broke gait. A warning was issued.
KENNYWOULD – Inclined to over race during the middle stages and passing the 200 metres became unbalanced and broke gait. KENNYWOULD will be stood down from racing until it can complete one satisfactory official trial.
BERTINELLI – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.
ADDICTIVE STRIDE – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
RACE 2 – AGNES BANKS EQUINE CLINIC TROTTERS MOBILE – 2300 metres
CHIEF RUNNINGCLOUD – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Inclined to hang in under pressure and gave ground over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. A warning was issued.
DISTANT SUN – Leaving the 300 metres attempted to improve to the inside of MACKEL SONNY where there was insufficient room to do so and subsequently made heavy contact with the sulky of MACKEL SONNY. Driver Z Fitzpatrick was issued with a reprimand under rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving.
SHOULD BEABARCA – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
MACKEL SONNY – Leaving the 300 metres received heavy contact on the near side sulky wheel due to DISTANT SUN making contact.
RACE 3 – KING OF SWING STANDING AT COBBITTY EQUINE FARM PACE – 1609 metres
MY GREAT EIGHT – Passing the 150 metres had to be steadied and raced roughly for a short distance when TIGERLICIOUS shifted in.
GET US A TINNY – Out of position at the start. A warning was issued. Inclined to race ungenerously throughout the event.
TIGERLICIOUS – Passing the 150 metres shifted in under pressure. Driver J Gallagher was advised to exercise care when driving his runners out in future.
CYNICAL – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
NEED FOUR SPEED – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.
RACE 4 – ALLCOTT HIRE CAMPBELLTOWN PACE – 1609 metres
BENTLY BULLET – Leaving the 700 metres was placed in restricted room and had to be steadied and subsequently raced roughly.
PARALLEL – Unable to secure clear running at any stage of the home straight and was not fully tested. Driver J Gallagher explained that in the early part of the home straight he was aware there was no run along the marker pegs therefore elected to shift out and in the hope that CLASSICMAJOR would give ground sufficiently to allow him to improve. However this did not occur, and when he looked to shift back in LITTLE CESSNA had improved quickly which caused him to be held up for the remainder of the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
KING COREY – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
CARIBBEAN RUNA – Approaching the 1200 metres was placed in restricted room by JOGALONG BLUE which shifted in subsequently CARIBBEAN RUNA had to be steadied and raced roughly.
CLASSICMAJOR – Improved three wide in the middle stages and shifted in leaving the 700 metres when not quite clear of BENTLY BULLET. Driver B Abbott was issued with a reprimand under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference.
JOGALONG BLUE – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Raced roughly after the start.
RACE 5 – CORDINA CHICKEN FARMS PACE – 1609 metres
JACQUELINE ROSE NZ – Approaching the 1200 metres had to be steadied when the pace in the running line eased.
EXPLOSIVE BRONSKI – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.
UNCLE TIGER – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
RACE 6 – HYLAND SPORTSWEAR PACE – 1609 metres
ONYX SHARD NZ – Pre-race blood samples were obtained.
THERES WALLY – Approaching the 100 metres momentarily locked wheels with JANIE BLU.
TUKAHA – Post-race swab samples were obtained.
LETS TURN IT ON – Improved three wide in the early stages and when unable to obtain a position in the running line was caught wide and it was subsequently restrained to the rear of the field near the 900 metres.
JANIE BLU – Shifted out slightly near the 100 metres resulting in JANIE BLU and THERES WALLY momentarily engaging sulky wheels. Unable to secure clear running over the concluding stages and was not fully tested. Re-included in the mobile barrier draw.
RACE 7 – TINTIN IN AMERICA @ WINGATE FARM PACE – 1609 metres
OUTSIDE FIGHTER – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW Animal Welfare guidelines. No abnormalities were detected.
CORBIE STUMBLER – When questioned regarding his decision to restrain at the start driver C Hart explained that trainer J Alchin was explicit in his instructions that he wanted to attempt to drive the gelding with cover as he had been disappointed with his most recent starts. C Hart said that during the score up CORBIE STUMBLER was overracing and therefore he immediately wanted to attempt to follow the instructions and get the gelding to relax behind another runner in the running line as soon as possible. C Hart added that despite the tactics employed, CORBIE STUMBLER did not perform up to expectations and trainer J Alchin indicated that he would reassess his immediate racing program.
SPIRIT OF ANARCHY NZ – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Post-race swab samples were obtained.
ITZBUDDAH NZ – Raced roughly passing the 450 metres and gave ground over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Driver L Painting explained that trainer J Grimson was confident the gelding would perform well and instructed him to drive him aggressively. He added that leaving the 500 metres he released the deafeners and shortly thereafter ITZBUDDAH NZ commenced to weaken. L Painting stated that trainer J Grimson may look to move the gelding on in the near future.
RACE 8 – MULTIQUIP AGGREGATES PACE – 1609 metres
OUR UNCLE JIM – Pre-race blood samples were obtained. Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW Animal Welfare guidelines. No abnormalities were detected.
SAHARA SIROCCO – Passing the 100 metres had to be steadied away from FRANCO TYSON which shifted out.
ROYAL DIVISION – Hung out when placed under pressure over the concluding stages. A warning was issued. Post-race swab samples were obtained.
FRANCO TYSON – Held up for clear running until approaching the 100 metres at which point the gelding shifted out. Driver B Portelli was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
FIRE FOX NZ – Passing the 100 metres was hampered when SAHARA SIROCCO was taken out by FRANCO TYSON.
MASTER CATCH – Caught wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field.
