RACE 1 – D M PLUMBING TROTTERS MOBILE – 1720 metres

MAJESTIC FUNDS – Entering the first turn became unbalanced and broke gait. Passing the 1100 metres broke gait on a second occasion. Connections were advised that MAJESTIC FUNDS would be stood down until it can complete one satisfactory official trial.

ORIA – Negotiating the first turn became unbalanced and broke gait. A warning was issued.

JACKIES GIFT – Leaving the 100 metres had to shift wider to avoid the galloping SPEEDING SPIRIT NZ.

KISS AT MIDNIGHT – Near the 300 metres became unbalanced and broke gait. In view of its recent record, connections were advised KISS AT MIDNIGHT would be stood down for a period of 10 days and until it can complete two satisfactory official trials.

DOLLYS LAW – Post-race swab sample.

EWING – Leaving the 400 metres was placed in restricted room and had to be steadied when RIOTERRA shifted in.

BURKHARDT NZ – Approaching the 1500 metres had to be steadied away from MAJESTIC FUNDS. Leaving the 400 metres was placed in restricted room by EWING which was taken in by RIOTERRA and subsequently BURKHARDT NZ contacted marker pegs.

SPEEDING SPIRIT NZ – Passing the 100 metres became unbalanced and broke gait. A warning was issued.

RIOTERRA – Passing the 400 metres laid in and shifted in resulting in EWING being placed in restricted room and taken down towards BURKHARDT NZ. Driver S Morris was advised to exercise greater care when presented with similar circumstances. Leaving the 100 metres had to be steadied and shifted in to avoid SPEEDING SPIRIT NZ which broke gait.

CHIEF RUNNINGCLOUD – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 2 – PRYDE’S STAMINA TROTTERS MOBILE – 1720 metres

JINAN – Approaching the 1500 metres hung in and contacted marker pegs. A warning was issued.

TIGER TEE – Racing between the 300 metres and the 200 metres laid in and raced inside the line of marker pegs. Driver D Murphy was issued a reprimand under Rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving in that he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent the mare from being corrected outside the line of marker pegs once TIGER TEE commenced to hang in. Held up for clear running in the latter stages of the home straight and was not fully tested.

DISTANT SUN – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

LAST CLANSMAN – Had difficulty securing clear running until passing the 100 metres.

VALLEY STAR NZ – Improved three wide during the middle stages before attempting to cross to the position outside the leader and subsequently VALLEY STAR NZ broke gait. A warning was issued. 

MACKEL SONNY - Out of position at the start and will continue to be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 3 – WARDS ACCOUNTING GROUP PACE – 1720 metres

JAY BEE LOU – Unable to secure clear running until shifting wider near the 100 metres.

NEED FOUR SPEED – Post-race swab sample.

IMA SHINKANSEN – Raced three wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside the leader near the 1400 metres.

SUNSHINE KARAMEA – Unable to secure running until passing the 100 metres.

TIGERNATOR – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 4 – CONDELL PARK PRODUCE PACE – 1720 metres

CHLOBRO – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

A VAPAR STORM – Inclined to hang in when racing wide between the 400 metres and the 200 metres.

DANCING WITH MY EX – Raced three wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside the leader near the 1400 metres.

BETTOR BE LUCKY – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines. No abnormalities were detected.

 

RACE 5 – ALWAYS ALLCOTT PACE – 1720 metres

CHARLIES ACE NZ – Post-race swab sample.

GREY CADILLAC – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines. No abnormalities were detected. Improved three wide approaching the 1200 metres and raced wide until it became apparent the position outside the leader was unobtainable. GREY CADILLAC was then restrained toward the rear of the field near the 900 metres.

IDEAL REDEMPTION – Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 6 – ACCESS ENGINEERING SYSTEMS HVAC PACE – 1720 metres

Due to thunderstorm activity in the immediate vicinity and subsequent lightning strikes, an indefinite delay was incurred. After monitoring the thunderstorm activity, the decision was made to put races 6 and 7 back one time slot. Race 8 was rescheduled to commence at 5.45pm. Public announcements communicating the rescheduling were made.

HOMEBOUND – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

TIGERLICIOUS – Pre-race blood sample. Gave ground over the final 500 metres. When questioned, Driver C Geary explained that Trainer S Farrugia believed TIGERLICIOUS was well placed to use its gate speed and he was keen to attempt to lead throughout. C Geary stated that he drove the mare with vigour in the early stages and was surprised when challenged by CHOOCHOO TRAIN. He said that once his runner was crossed by CHOOCHOO TRAIN he did not wish to remain racing behind that runner as he was concerned it would not take him into the race. Therefore, he immediately shifted out regained the lead with relative ease and then steadied the tempo. C Geary explained leaving the 500 metres TIGERLICISOUS was under hard driving, and he was disappointed with her failure to run on given the relatively slow middle half mile. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. A warning was placed on TIGERLICIOUS for what was deemed to be an inconsistent performance.

CHOOCHOO TRAIN – Approaching the 400 metres was hampered by TIGERLICIOUS when that runner gave ground.

 

RACE 7 – FARMER JOES FOOD SERVICES PACE – 1720 metres

BLISSES BEST – Leaving the 300 metres was inconvenienced by PLAYA BLANCA which locked wheels with KASBAH.

GIMME A REASON – Post-race swab sample.

KASBAH – Pre-race blood sample. Passing the 300 metres momentarily locked wheels with PLAYA BLANCA which laid in.

BETTINE – Improved three wide in the early stages before crossing to the position outside the leader.

MISTER JONES NZ – Unable to secure clear running until passing the 100 metres.

PLAYA BLANCA – Passing the 300 metres laid in and shifted in slightly resulting in PLAYA BLANCA locking wheels with KASBAH for a short distance.

LILS NIGHTMARE NZ – Near the 300 metres had to be steadied off the back of BLISSES BEST.

THERES WALLY – Unable to secure clear running at any stage in the home straight and was not fully tested.

 

RACE 8 – IRT HORSE TRANSPORT PACE – 1720 metres

SOHO GUNSLINGER – Post-race swab sample.

OURTREACHEROUS REIGN NZ – Leaving the 1600 metres was placed in restricted room by YESNOMAYBESO which shifted in. Z Fitzpatrick was cautioned for failing to adhere to the starter’s direction in respect to the preliminary.

YESNOMAYBESO - Leaving the 1600 metres shifted in from a four wide position toward a three wide position when not quite clear of OURTREACHEROUS REIGN NZ resulting in that runner being placed in restricted room. Driver A Garaty was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference.

TILL HEAVENS ROCKN NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

STORMTIDE – Leaving the 500 metres was inconvenienced by TIL HEAVENS ROCKN NZ which gave ground.
